We'll see you in the 60's. Although I did not ask for a preferred room, I asked for the back of the 60's , facing the water, I think. These are not preferred rooms, but close to the front anyway. I have not done this before, so we'll see how it is!

I will add you once I am on the desktop, b/c I am not crazy over laptop keyboards-it is hindering and awkward.

We will also be at PC in February. Actually DH & I will arrive on 1/31. We will have 5 adults joining us on 2/3, DD, 2 DSIL's, DS & his GF, with all of us going home on 2/10. I haven't requested a building as yet, last time we were lucky with a great room in the 70's. Any suggestions from you all as far as a good, quiet location, not far from the bus stop would be appreciated.

We have some of our days planned out so far:

2/3 with everyone else arriving, just dinner at Whispering Canyon
2/4 MK with Character dinner at LTT @ 5:45
2/5 not sure which park, but dinner @ O'Hana's @ 5:30
2/6 MGM with lunch at PT @ 1:30
2/7 Maybe MGM again, Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's
2/8 Again, not sure where everyone will head, but lunch at Beaches N Cream
2/9 MGM, with lunch at Sci-Fi at 1:20

As far as DH & I being there a few days ahead, we'll just decide where to go each day, maybe taking in a carriage ride at PO.

I'd also like to book an Illuminations cruise for our group. I believe that's 90 days out.

Can't wait, have been planning this trip out for a year already. Killed us not to go down at all this year, but it will be worth it to get together and have fun.

We definitely have to decorate the windows!!! I don't know how I'm going to hold out till February- I want to go NOW!

A couple of recent posters asked about the crowds during Mardi Gras. We discussed it quite a bit at the beginning of the thread, but I will say that I contacted The Unofficial Guide and they don't even note it on their calendar because it does not affect crowds according to them.

As a PP mentioned, they do something at Pleasure Island, but other than that, no big affect.

We went Feb 2006 and the weather was AWESOME! It was warm enough for shorts during the day, but not HOT. It was nice enough to swim, but again we weren't sweltering. The coolest was during the evening/early morning and we just threw on a sweatshirt.

Crowds were great, too! We never waited long for any ride. Got a few ADRs at the last minute (changed our minds on a couple after getting there).

Quick AP questions- can 1 adult in the party purchase an AP and have the discounts applied? I have been considering AP's and was wondering if we could do it this way.

Thanks for the info about crowds, kjbrown. We specifically picked this week to avoid crowds as on of my triplets is special needs. He cannot handle crowds and uses a wheelchair in the parks. With all the Mardi Gras talk, I was getting worried. Glad to hear that the Mardi Gras folks don't make a huge difference in the parks. And we are crossing our fingers for a P&PP while there. I went on a girls' weekend Jan 26-29, 2007, and we attended the 2nd P&PP. It was a blast!

According to www.mousesavers.com info, yes, you can purchase 1 AP and get a discount on the room for all your guests. I think you used to be able to get up to three rooms with one AP, but think I read somewhere that may not be the case anymore. Not sure though.

Thanks, Kathy. This will be the kids 3rd trip (Dec 05, Sept 06). We always have the most magical and amazing trips. And the CMs could not be more lovely or helpful for people who have special needs. My son's favorite place in the world is Disney. They have made it such an amazing place for us all! I'm sure this trip will be fantastic.

Lori we are also staying at POP. I'm not sure if I mentioned that before. We have sixteen of us as part of a Grand Gathering. We are in the perferred rooms but did not request a section. My kids really want the 60's so I'll call a few days before we leave.

Sinderelli I'm going to decorate my window too. I did it on my last trip and it made me smile every time I entered my room.

ITA, we were there in both Feb 06 and 07. I did notice the crowds this past February, I wasn't sure if it was because of the Superbowl, because after Superbowl Sunday is when I seen the crowds increase and there were lots of Superbowl t-shirts around. Thankfully Superbowl is no where near Disney this coming Feb. I am thinking about moving our 09 trip because Superbowl 09 is in Tampa and I am pretty sure it will be crowded again

Thank you soooo much, I am bawlin' as I write. The actual date of 5 years off is March 7, 2008. We are going at Mardi Gras due to school being out for my DN3 and DN5(who is now not going) and other family members. My DH was iffy about celebrating anything before the actual date, but since we wanted family to celebrate with us, they dictated some of the timing!!!
That is why it is "Celebrate Life"- about Ashton's journey and all the support we got!!! We could not have emotionally/spiritually gotten through it w/out friends and family!

Hi all - new subscriber, planning a multi-family trip for the first week of February (my late brother's three sons, their wives and 5 children, 4 months to 9 yrs). I've been to WDW twice for meetings and twice for races (half & marathon), but this will be my first extended stay. I'd like to stay at the PO-FQ, but didn't realize that this would be Mardi Gras week. I suppose I should reserve our rooms now with AAA, then can I switch to a Disney package later?

This site has really helped sort out all the options - my brain was melting!
