My family and I went last January (2-6, I think), thinking about Feb. this time, but my DH has a week off in each Jan(12- 18) and Feb(9- 15). I'd rather give us an extra month, as we had planned on waiting until next Fall to go back to WDW. But hwo will the crwods be? We would leave Feb 14, so DH could rest and unwind before heading back to work. That is the Wednesday before Pres. Day. What do you think? Anyone else going at this time?

We will be there about that same time. Arriving probably sometime Saturday the 10th and leaving on the 16th. This will be our first trip in February. We are also taking our DS who is 8 out of school for this trip. I'm sure our school won't be happy but I'm the parent for a change. We've gone twice in October, once in June, and once in July. I'm looking forward to a cooler trip this time and hopefully lower crowds. :) Looking forward to a wonderful trip along with reading these borads. Aren't they addicting. haha.

Very addicting! ;) Are you driving Lynn? I think we are, but we are in the SW tip of IN.

Anyone think that I'll be able to avoid Pres Day crowds? When do the crowds really start to pick up? Fri before? Sat before? Thanks!

Yes, we are driving. We live an hour south of Chicago. So you probably have a few hours on us. Lucky you. We've always drove straight through. Seen on someone else's post that they leave so they can get to the Georgia/Florida line at supper time and they stay there. I thought perhaps that might be a good idea but then you have to drive the rest of the way in the morn. I want to be at WDW to do a park first thing in the morn so we'll probably drive straight through again. I've spent a lot of time on the lawnmower today and now I thinking maybe we'll try to make it to WDW Saturday night and stay at our resort that night so we can be there for the following morn. Does that make sense????? Too much time on the lawnmower makes for too much thinking. I wish the grass would die! My boys are in school and now its my job. haha Where are you staying or did you already say? We're at the Pop for now. I'm hoping NOT to change. But if I'm on the mower again who would know. :rotfl2:

aksunshine- I think you will miss the President's Day crowds. The kids in the northeast are in school until the Friday before President's Day. I am a teacher and I don't see many kids being pulled out early that week. Disney must find that to be the case because they stay in value season until 2/14. I would think the crowds would not pick up until Saturday or Sunday. Some people may fly down Friday night but many won't fly out until Saturday. It sounds like you will be just missing the influx from the north. Have a great trip. :)

Planning on Pop, DH really liked it last time! You are braver than me! We will probably drive straight thru, but not do a park when we arrive! DH gets cranky if he doesn't get enough rest!

We're going in Feb for the second time! We were there Feb 2006 - 1st to 12th. It was great - weather was like our spring...cool in morning, warm through day, cool again at night. Very low crowds - rarely had a line at any ride.
Too cool for the waterparks, but great for walking around the big parks. ADRs were still a must have. We couldn't get in anywhere at Epcot one evening.
We're going back again Feb 2007 with my family along. Shorter trip - with more people - so the planning is pretty crazy. But knowing the crowds are smaller helps me to know how quickly we'll be able to get around the parks.
Have fun!

Mickeywho, have you made your ADR already? I've got our days set, 2-11 -- 2-16 but haven't made any ADR's yet. Should I get going on this. On our past trips we didn't make any ADRs - its been 5 years since the last visit. It seems to be the thing to do now. We will be doing the dining pass this time. I like the thought that we won't have to fork out lots of $$ when we're there. Hopefully!!!!! Thanks for any info you can provide. I can't wait for cool weather and having fun.

We are hoping to be at WDW 1/28-2/3....My DH may have a sales conference and we are tagging along...This may be at the Swan or Dolphin..
We are definitely booked for 2/5-2/10 at the Broadwalk.... :cool1:
I really do hope that he goes to that sales conference!! This will be our last trip for a while(probably until 2009)..

I will be calling tomorrow for ADRs. Anyone interested in sharing a Wishes cruise either the 9th or 11th?

aksunshine, do you know the approximate cost of the wishes cruise? I'm not sure of the budget. I don't know alot about these cruises. Haven't done one before. Our first day is on Sunday, 2-11. I'm debating what extra activities we want to do on this trip, mainly the pirates/priness night. So I would be a ?? If you'd like to email me you can at cliebbe@netnitco.net. If someone else is a definite, feel free to let them join you. I guess I'd better get going on my ADR. Thanks,

Lynn

I think it is $200, can be split equally. But for a few $ more pp, I'd likr to do the GG Magical Wishes cruise. Each person is invited to a dessert party with Hook and Smee and get a surprise visit from Peter Pan upon return. :thumbsup2 To participate in a GG there needs to be 8+ in a party and I know these aren't available every night. I' still getting more info, but for my family's portion, I think it would be around $100, baby doesn't count! Anyone else maybe intersted? :confused3

I'm going 2/9 - 2/13. Girls trip for the Pirate and Princess Party! It'll be me, DD3, DNiece 5, DMIL, DSIL and her two girls (1 and 4).

aksunshine, I'd be very interested in a Wishes cruise either night you metioned. Please let me know the details and maybe I'll surprise my group with it. It would be an awesome way to see Wishes. What's the maximum # for a Wishes cruise?

The GG cruise sounds pretty cool too, but DD is very frightened of pirates at the moment. I've been trying to prepare her for them, since we're going to the PIRATE and Princess party. :)

Oh, we're also staying at Pop. It'll be our first time there. If any discounts come out, we may upgrade to a monorail resort just so it's easier to get around with all the kids. We'll just be going to MK and Epcot anyway.

justwinnie, My DD is 4, it would be great for her to meet the young ladies about her age in your group! :goodvibes

We have been to WDW many, many times for the week just before President's Day. I can tell you that it very quiet until the Thursday before the Monday holiday. The crowds start to pick up Thursday afternoon and by Friday afternoon the lines are long. Not as long as they will be on the weekend and thru the following week, but much longer than the short to no wait time prior to Thursday. We have always left on the Saturday before President's Day because it is so crowded.
