February 20, 2011 DREAM

Hi everyone,

I have no been around, just got back a week ago from our trip to Paris and Disneyland Paris. Had a great trip, but now ready for a warm weather vacation. I just booked the 2 nights before the cruise at the Raddison. I selected this hotel because they have free shuttle to Kennedy Space Center, and we wanted to do that the day before the cruise.

My wife and I went on a disney cruise as part of our honeymoon 9 years ago. We will be on this sailing to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. We felt so bad about not taking the kids we are sailing again on the dream in April!

I don't know which one I am looking forward to more!

Just rebooked to this sailing from 2/27/2011 due to school district trying to mess up my cruising plans(they just don't understand the importance of cruising:sad2:). Thank goodness I checked today;) looking forward to getting to know all you Dis'ers:)

Hi all. We just booked this week. We were supposed to go on the Magic this last President's Week - you know the one that was delayed but we had cancelled prior- luckily. So we were looking for another one and figured we would go on the new ship. The Dream looks awesome doesn't it! This will be our third; 1 Magic, 1 Wonder and 1 Dream.

It will be me

Tommy - 47

Drew 11

We are all so excited! Can't wait to meet other Disers! What is everyone doing prior/after. Sounds like a lot of you are doing back to backs. How does this work for everyone? What do you do in between? You have to pack and unpack - don't know if I would like that.

Anyway, can't wait!

We are booked as of this morning. :cool1: Deck 8, late dinner...

DH and I are cruising alone...both our kids will be in college in the fall. We are family DCL vets of many cruises, but this is our first time alone

We would love to be included in the FEs. Please add us to the list :teeth:

We'll be onboard! :thumbsup2

We booked this one on the 3rd night of our 1st cruise last December! Thankfully our school district had already released their calendar, so we knew these dates would work for us (which is nice, since my parents and sister/BIL are planning their vacations around my girls!).

I am (literally!) counting down the days! :cloud9:

Trying to talk DH into a b2b with this being the first leg

Question about FE's... Do you give a giftie every day, or is it a rotational thing? Will we have a list of cabins w/ages of kids, boy and girl...that kind of stuff?

we decided to do a b2b on the Dream for more time on the ship, so we will be on the cruise before this and this one, :goodvibes:lmao:

We are now doing our first b2b :woohoo: This cruise is the first leg. They changed the cabin, so we can have the same one for both cruises.

Anyone done a b2b before that can give me an idea of how it all works?

This will be our first cruise ever and really looking forward to it. Have been spending a lot of time on this forum learning everything there is to know about cruising with Disney.

At the time of the cruise
me - 38 (getting way too close to 40)
DW - 35
DS - 8
DD - 5

We'll be flying into MCO the day before, staying at the Hyatt at the airport, and taking the Disney Express. For dining we requested main seating since we're used to eating early. In Nassau we'll briefly walk through some shops, but plan on spending most of our time on the ship. For CC, sitting on the beach and going for a bike ride sound pretty good - kids will love playing on the beach. Water might be too cold to swim much but if it's not then we might try some snorkeling.

Really looking forward to a relaxing vacation while still letting the kids have a ton of fun. I think a Disney cruise will fit that bill perfectly.

Hi Mark! Yup, your kids are going to have a blast! Mine went in the water, they didn't care how cold it was!

Me, not so much, But the beach is beautiful!

We are doing our first B2B as well. We are booked in the same rooms for both but our TA said that we won't have to pack but that we will have to leave the ship for around an hour and a half. Other than that we don't know how things will work.

For those out there who have done B2Bs, any ideas what we can expect?

Ok so seriously have to consider changing my 4 night to a B2B. I will try to convince my DH and hopefully try to book 2nd leg while onboard the Wonder next month. Would love to have more time to explore the ship and hopefully our same room is available.

we are doing a b2b and our room wasn't available, for the one cruise we booked, but I see it this way I'll only take out what I need the the first cruise, then the second which will be this one will be a day long so I can just throw the clothes into the suitcase last night of the first cruise and I will be all set move bags

We did a B2B on the Magic last year. We met in Sessions Saturday morning, they walked us off into the terminal where we checked in and had our picture taken again with the new KTTW card then reboarded, it took about 30 minutes. We had the same room and were able to go there, it was a good time to do laundry. The lights were off in many areas of the ship and it was quiet. Quiet Cove and the Drink station were open. I liked looking from deck 10 at the people waiting to board and the feeling of being almost alone on the ship(barely noticed the 1900 crew members). When embarkation started they blocked access to the rooms until about 1:30.

Checking back in since it has been awhile since I posted! We're so excited for our cruise on the Dream in February! I'm already pondering FEs and gifts since this will be our first time participating!
It is rainy and cold out here today in New England... I could use some tropical breezes right now!

I've just booked our family of 5 (me, DH,DD10,DD11,DD14) for my 40th birhtday celebration on the Dream! It is giving me something to look forward to, since I'm going to be old now (LOL)!! This will be our 1st cruise ever. I'm trying to figure all of this cruising stuff out, I usually just go to WDW but we're trying something different this year. It's a little intimidating since I'm a WDW pro & can plan those trips in my sleep, this one is taking ALOT of research. :earboy2:

This was us back in December - when we took our first ever cruise, a 7-night Western Caribbean on the Magic. And while I still love the parks . . . if I was *forced* to choose . . . I have to say I'll take the cruise!:thumbsup2

Enjoy the planning! I know it can be challenging, but it was the best vacation I've ever taken (so, MORE than worth it, lol!)!

Glad to hear it is worth it! I'm really excited to see what it is like. DH is even excited! I'm working on getting everyone passports now (I already have one), have to wait for my DH's birth certificate to come 1st though:sad2:. Hopefully it won't take too long to get here from New Mexico!! Looking forward to getting some good advice from all the return cruisers in this group!
