February 20, 2011 DREAM

What I don't understand is why can't we all get an email from Disney telling us that we have to do this?? Really, it can't be that hard. I read about it in the Passporter newsletter and if I hadn't, and wasn't on these boards, I likely wouldn't have any idea since it said my online checkin was "complete".

Check in time doesn't apply if you're using Disney transfers or are a concierge or platinum castaway club member. I was able to get the 11-11:30 block. However, we have a car service picking us up at the BWV at 9:15 and we're not changing it. Will be interesting to see how they handle the whole check in as I'm sure there will be people who do not go back in and pick a time.

Cheers!

Jennifer

I just did mine too. I wouldn't have known either if I wasn't on here. I was confused because it said mine was complete, but then I had to fill in everything again. I gave my flight info for my arrival even though we are coming in the day before. Thank God I had just enough ink left to print it all out!

I picked the 11-11:30 time. Hopefully I can get on the shuttle from the hotel during that time!

Hi Everybody!

Re: Changes to the 'online check-in'...here is the link to a thread that was started a few days ago...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2648333

It seems like it isn't a big deal if you have already completed your documents. If you arrive at the port without a time or before your 'new' time- they will still let you in.

I think it is more a way to help with staffing and make sure they can handle 4000 people efficiently.

As said earlier if you are using Disney transportation or are concierge or platinum (maybe gold too, I can't remember) castaway cay member then you just arrive whenever you choose.

I DID notice there is a nice big barcode on the check-in documents now. I did re-do my check-in paperwork and figured that hey- a barcode is bound to make things faster...right? We'll see!

Hope that helps!

Ahhh... Hadn't seen that link as I only follow this thread and the one for our Alaska cruise in August. Just haven't had time. :headache: I figure if it's important enough someone would post here. :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Jennifer

Add this Texan and DW to those who can't wait for our FIRST ever cruise on the 20th. Actually a bit nervous. Is that normal?

Thanks for the pics! The ship is HUGE!!!! I figured out where our room is and I think we got a good spot.

2 weeks and counting!

Thanks for the pics:) Two weeks from today we will be arriving at Port. We can't wait:banana:

So I talked with David on Facebook and he said he is moving to the Disney Magic, ponz will still be on the Disney Dream though.

Hi Debbie! We're staying at the Radisson the night before too! I think we're taking the 10:00 shuttle over (my mom scheduled it months ago), but we're not scheduled to check in until 11:00. I guess if they won't let us check in when we get there, we'll just lurk around the outside.....

So for anyone that wanted a dismeet I don't think there will really be a good time to have one. From looking at navigators from the 1/30 4 night cruise and 2/3 3 night cruise it looks like there are two sail away party's. You can all look for me the first day on the ship though if you want and say hey I'll most likey be wear the hat from this picture

and the jersey from this picture

the hat says Nets and jersey says Nets, most cruises people have usually spotted me:goodvibes

Thanks for posting the pics Julia! The Dream really does look HUGE!

Can't believe two weeks from today we'll be on our cruise.

It will be tricky to do a meet on the first day but I'm still game. It might be quick but it would be fun to put a face to a name.

As Julia mentioned, there are two 'Sail-away' parties- one at 2:45 and one at 4:15. Lifeboat drill is at 3:45. What if we tried to meet right after that near where the 'Sail-away' party is? Since we don't have to wear life jackets to the drill thus have to put them away after- we could all go from drill to the deck and meet and watch the party together. Those of us who don't have the 5 pm show could linger a little longer post party if we wanted to.

What do other people think?

At least Julia will be easy to spot thanks to her hat and jersey...I haven't a clue what I'll be wearing...need to work more on packing this week. It is hard to remember what mid-70s feels like!

Liz :)

I am game for whatever works out. This is my first cruise, and I am not really sure what to expect, so I'll follow your leads!

I can't believe we will be on the Dream in two weeks! I thought I had all this time but as usual I'm rushing at the end. I'm hoping this arrival time isn't too strict. I'm not spending the first day stressing about making a check in time. And what's with 2 sail away parties? Don't they realize us dis people plan ahead? Lol..

We are all finished with college auditions and now just getting ready to cruise. Can't wait! Thanks for the pics, Julia!

Hi! I'm a true Texan too, born in Houston but that's about it... :-)
I was nervous my first cruise too but it was all for nothing. You will have a great time and if you are prone to motion sickness like me then begin taking your meds the day before.

well I most likely won't be attending the meet so everyone just look for me on the ship that first day, on most of my cruises people have found me from just walking around the ship. before the sailaway party I'm usually saying hey to people I know from the cruise staff so hopefully I'll be doing the same this time. So just look for me on the lower deck, deck 11:goodvibes

This is our first Disney cruise also. We are staying at the Raddison arriving on the 18th. We will also be on the 10am shuttle and have an 11:00 check in. I am game for a meet if anyone else is. I am so looking forward to getting away from the snow and cold. This is my last full week of work!:cool1:

My first Disney cruise as well. I'd really like to do meet - especially I'd like to meet the people who've been posting more often :) and the people I've been busy making the FE gifts for, so I can put faces to the names.

Wow, I can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!!!

Well since you all want a dis meet you should all pick a deff time and spot to have it, hopefully I'll see you all sometime on the ship. I would tell you all a good place to have one, but I don't know on the Dream.
