February 20, 2011 DREAM

If I remember we got off the ship as soon as they opened the gangway and we had all day, probably 6-7 hours maybe more.

We spent most of our day at the water park and didn't get to see all of the aquarium, this time we will take time to see more of the aquarium and other sights.

They also have swimming with the dolphins we didn't do it but when we were there the water was so mirky you wouldn't have seen the dolphins until they were right beside you, don't know if it is like that all the time.

Count me in on this cruise, too! It will be my 2nd Cruise! I think we are starting a new tradition of President's week on a Disney Cruise every year...starting with the Wonder in 2010! :thumbsup2

I am SO excited! :yay:

I am in Category 9A, I think? (Deck 11, OceanView Deluxe)

My party includes:

Me - 37 (I'll be 38 then)
DH - 37 (he will be 38 then)
DS - 8 (he will be 9 then)
DD - 4 (she will be 5 then)

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! :dance3:

Welcome to our thread! Was your first cruise a disney cruise? It will be our first cruise...we love to vacation President's week! It's so good to get out of New York and have a taste of warmth in February!

I have been on 6 cruises so far, none with Disney! We take our first Disney Cruise President's week 2010 on the Wonder. I think we are starting a new tradition...we've never gone Presidents week before!

Hi Cruising Canuck

We're practically neighbours, we live in Winnipeg! This is our first cruise with our 2 girls, they are currently ages 6 and 3 1/2. We made the mistake of telling them already and now I need to find a way to make the time go faster, lol.

Look forward to chatting with you and everyone else on this cruise.

Lisa

Hi Icvb, you guys will relate to wanting to vacate this country when the temps plummet to rediculous lows. You say it will be your first cruise with the girls, have you cruised DCL before? We also wish time would move faster but the kids can focus on this years holiday, we are off for a week in Costa Rica in the middle of Feb.

Hi also to "In Luv" glad to have you both on board with us all.

Hi Gord

We haven't cruised DCL before. Prior cruises for DH and I include RCI in 2007 and we will be on the Mariner of the Seas at the end of January to the Mexican Riviera.

November was quite nice here but now we're feeling the cold!

Hey,

I have been reading these Disney cruise forums and some others for a while now and decided to join up. I have been on the wonder 4 day cruise with my parents in January of 08. They will be taking our entire family (18 of us) on the Disney Dream for a family reunion celebrating my parents 42nd anniversary. Just thought I would post on here and we are all super excited.

Welcome aboard! That is going to be so much fun for your family! You must have kids and adults of every age group. Last year, my mother took 18 of us to WDW for her 70th birthday...it was quite an event!

Hey all!!

Seems as if our little group is growing, here. Sorry I haven't posted in a while...busy @ work. I'm SO excited for you first time cruisers . I'll make sure & be more of a participant from here on in! Only 1 year & 2 months to go ;):lmao:!!

Ya its going to be a blast. We are big time Disney fans since we all grew up about 15 min away from Disneyland. Our party will consist of my 4 siblings and most of who are married with kids. So there will be 10 adults with 8 kids (one of them who is not here yet). They rage from 2-16.

It looks like most of us are traveling with kids around the same ages. Looking forward to getting acquainted with everyone.

HI!!!
This is our second Disney Cruise! We are so excited and hope that the next year goes by quickly! Our DD's will be 6 and 4 when we cruise. We are keeping it a surprise until we leave for the airport! :) Last time we cruised with DCL our youngest was 2 so she was not able to enjoy the kids clubs. Our oldest loved the clubs so we wanted to give the same experience to the youngest. Can't Wait!!!

Boy this weather is sure making us want to be on-board right now. It was -30C this morning. Yikes, I hate snow and cold!!

I just shoveled 8 inches of snow....the Disney Dream is appropriately named! I am just dreaming of the date we set sale!

Snow Day here in CT! Enough with the shovelling all ready . My back is killin' me. SO wish our cruise was THIS Feb...we've got a lot of snow removal between now & our sail date, people. But I won't complain too much...definitely not as cold as our friends waaay up north!:sad2:

I was happy to have a snow day too! And the shoveling did a number on my back too! I do love the snow (not shoveling so much!)- these snowy days waiting will make that cruise so much better!

I know it's kinda early to think about, but does anyone have plans yet for doing the parks while they are there. We will definitely be doing some before and after our cruise, we will probably travel on Thursday before the cruise to get some park time in on Friday and Saturday.

FYI;
We found it the cheapest to rent a car for the day trip to the port and just turn it in at Port Canaveral. We did this last time and it works out well. I picked up the car the night before the cruise in the Downtown Disney area and then the next day drive to the port, drop the family off with our bags at the ship and zip into town and drop off the car and bring the shuttle back to the ship. There is no drop off fee and when the ship comes back we make a reservation to pick up a car again and take it back to Disney.

The shuttle bus looks fun but it is very pricey, especially for 5 of us to take. I haven't checked prices yet but I think we did the rental thing last time for around $100 bucks for the round-trip. Renting a car allows us to get to the port early and be ready when the doors open and we can get on-board, then we have lots of time to explore the ship before the sail away party.

One time we also rented a Town Car service as well that was great too, and also cheaper than the Disney transfer.

Gord

We will probably do 2 days at the parks in after our cruise, due to school schedules we can't squeeze in anything else. :sad2:
