Hi All!
We are back. RCCL Jewel of the Seas was a lot of fun! I don't have much time because I am at work finishing up my lunch break. We all agreed that we like DCL a bit better, but this cruise was a close second. I'll post more when I get caught up on all my laundry etc.

Welcome Michigan Mouse! This is a great place!!

Moira-How was DL?

TTYL :goodvibes

Sue I'm eagerly awaiting your cruise comparison too. How did Allegiant and Sanford work out for you?

Debbie-
Sanford Airport worked out well. The only problem is there are limited flights with Allegiant. As long as the schedule works for you, it's great. The airport is small and easy to navigate. Allegiant planes are not new, but they got us there. There are a few hotels 5 minutes away, so getting there for a 7:30 AM flight was relatively easy. We will definitely fly into Sanford again if the schedule and $ is right. We flew from Worcester Airport, and would also fly from there again.
If you have any specific questions about Sanford, I'll be happy to answer them.

We flew Allegiant in Feb, and I was just curious about your opinion. I HATE that 7:30 return flight :)

Debbie-
I agree, I wish there were other flights. We would have rather flown home on Saturday after we disembarked, but it worked out OK for us. We stayed in Sanford the night before. We were back in Worcester, and were out of the airport by 10:30 AM. The one thing that I hope Allegiant does is add more days to their flights. I think they only fly 3 days from Worcester. Maybe they'll add flights if the demand increases. :confused3
All in all, it comes down to $ for us because there are 5 tickets to purchase...

Moira-How was DL?

Hi Sue! :wave2:

So glad to hear that you had such a great time on the RCCL!! Nice to hear that it is as great as they make it sound! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to my RCCL in July!! :yay:

DL was fabulous!! I love  it there. The kids had a great time as well! :cloud9: It was nice to get back there again. I always enjoy going to a place even more once I have been already. Always know which things to do first and what to pass on!! We brought my sister with us this time as she has never done any Disney trips :faint: . She was Disney'd out, but I am so ready to go back to WDW next April (we're taking one of my cousins and her family. Her kids have never been!!)!! The fireworks at DL were the most amazing fireworks I have EVER seen in my life!! We saw them the last night we were there as it took us a few days to get used to the 3 hour time change!! Of course now that we are back, I am trying to get used to Eastern time again. But anyway, I highly recommend them to anyone if they get the chance to get out there before the 50th ends!! You won't be disappointed! I thought the show at Epcot was phenomenal, but this beat it out, believe it or not (at least in my eyes!!)!!

My husband said he finally has California out of his system, so we probably won't go back for a few years. I absolutely love it out there, I just hate the flight!! Then it's adjusting to the time change. Can't beat the layout of DL though. Everything is in walking distance from the hotels and we never need to ride a monorail or tram!! So now we are going to stick with just WDW for a while. Maybe I'll start dropping hints about DL Paris. :bitelip: :rolleyes1 :)

Glad to be home and I can't wait to start preparing for the DCL!! Only 9 months and 3 weeks to go (but who's counting anyway?? :hourglass )!! :woohoo:

Hi All!

Could you PM me with the following??:

DIS name
First names/sex/ages of people coming, (leave names out if not comfortable)
Where your family is from
Stateroom #
Dining time
Pre-cruise hotel

If there is anything else you think we should keep track of, post here and we can add it. If I have this info saved in PM, it will be so much easier to keep track of. Is everyone comfortable with me posting the info to this thread? I will leave out names on this thread, but I'll PM everyone with all the information when it gets closer. If you want it sooner, let me know, and I'll PM you.
We can add meet times/ideas when we get closer to the cruise date??
Have a great day!

Just updating the list! If there is anyone who wants to be added that hasn't PM'd me yet, just send me a PM and I'll add your information!!

( I am working on my comparison of DCL vs. RCCL-hopefully I'll finish it this weekend and post it. )

Absolutely, it is the best way to do it, as you don't loose it, if there is a glitch with the DIS...
Can't wait to read it.

Does anyone know if I can type my RCCL vs DCL on Word, then copy it into a post?

Sure can! The ol' cut and paste works every time! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to your post!!

Sue, your eager fan are still awaiting, and this is also a shameless bump......

It's done!! I have the same feeling I had when I turned in papers in college!! It's in the main DCL forum thread spot. I wonder if I should have put it in trip reports. Title=DCL vs RCCL-one family's opinion (long)
If you have nay questions, let me know!!

Great job on the trip report and comparisons. It makes it a little easier that DS chose DCL for his graduation trip. Every now and again I think about the shore excursions or souveniers that the RCCL difference would have funded! LOL

Hi Sue!

Thanks so much for the great report you gave!! :goodvibes It sounds like you all had a fabulous time!

I know what you mean when you say comparing DCL and RCCL is like comparing apples to oranges. I've used the same analogy when talking about DL and WDW. I definitely won't be looking for DCL on our RCCL cruise in July, but I will certainly be looking forward to RCCL!

Thanks for the heads up on the smoking in the casinos. I was curious about that as that is the reason I avoided the clubs at night on the DCL. Guess I'll save the gambling $$$ for extra souveniers!! (as if I need more of those!! :lmao: )

I am glad that the boys had a good time as well. I am hoping for the same for my girls!! Don't like the idea of having to go through the arcade to get to the clubs (looks like the gambling $$$ may have found a new home!!), but luckily my little one is only 4 and it won't hold too much interest for her. My 12 year old on the other hand.... ;)

I am definitely looking forward to my RCCL, but have to say I am still more excited for the upcoming DCL cruise!!! :sunny:  :cool1:

Hi everyone just wanted to say hi. Me (29) and my sister (21) are booked to go on this crusie. We were on a 3 day cruise this past February and just loved it. We also did a split stay in disney world. Can't wait for February!

I just wanted to say hi and that I will not be sailing with you all after all. Due to some obligations, we can't go that week. However, I did re-schedule so now we are going in April. Still need my Disney cruise fix!

We are booked on the 7-day cruise the week of the 17th too. We have a dd 10 and ds 7.

We are first time Disney cruisers! Any advice?

You are going to love it, I have 2 DDs also 9 and 11, they first cruised when they were 6 and 8 and really loved it, we have been on 3 DCL cruises so far, and theyhave enjoyed all of them, they are not always crazy about the kids club, but do really enjoy the ship itself.
