Oh Sue I feel for you and all the other families waiting on the weather. I will be praying the storm goes on out to sea. It will all be worth it when you step foot on the ship.:cloud9:

Just getting ready to go to Dollar Tree to get the room deodorizer for the ship bathroom. (How sad is that?) I too am hoping the storm tracks further south. We don't leave until Friday, and I keep having this recurring worry that I'll drive to Providence (where we usually depart) instead of Bradley where we're really leaving from. Sue, I'll be :tink: for your Wednesday.

Sorry to bust in on your thread but some of us are wondering if you could do us a favor....

When you are onboard next week could you please check with Pikey and see what his current contract if for. We will be onboard this winter and wondering if he will still be there or if he'll be back on leave....

If you could post it (or ask Pikey to) we'd all really appreciate it. I know that there are others who are schedule for the Med. cruises that would be interested in knowing too!

Thanks!!

Also, if you could let us know about the cruise director - that would be great too!!!

I am being optimistic...

I got two of the boys packed, and I am almost done. The other DS has all his stuff out, will be done tomorrow, as well as myself. DH was so funny--he started packing, then gave me a big hug and a smootch and said how much he appreciated all my planning and packing, and he had a new appreciation on vacation planning. (I needed that today!)

just a few days!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Come on the Weather people are never right! I'm not even checking! All I know is it is Cold in NY and Warm where we are headed!

There couldn't possible be any snow left in the skies - 100 inches fell in the North country!

I made it through the crazy weekend - I'm exhasted! Just so you know I have my flip flops on - just practicing!:rotfl:

I hear you about 2 years of planning!!!! What will I do when I get back?

Glory-Anne

Pikey is from England. He works as a DJ and coordinates alot of the various entertainment. You'll see him alot onboard...he's a riot!!!

I'll see if I can run him down and get the info for you.

Christian has been the CD for the last month and a half or so but we'll let you know once we're onboard.

I'm going to attempt to scan and post navigators while we're at sea if the file sizes aren't too large.

Ok I am now all packed except for my makeup bag which I need this week. So somebody tell me, what did I forget???

Also I was so excited yesterday to see the Magic on the port cam, the one time I got it to work. All of the rest of the times, its just been blue so I guess its not working right.

We'll need jackets for the sailaway party!

Updated forecast predicts highs in the low 60's on Saturday!!!

Sue - your forecast for Wednesday is BLEAK! Call SWA this morning for an update.

Hope everyone is able to get to the port on schedule.

This weather thing is stressing me out, I know we will get there, even if we have to drive all the way but I would rather avoid, at home they are predicting 10 to 15 inches of snow on Wednesday, it does not make for ideal driving condition.
60 degree sounds really good right now, as long as it is sunny, I will be happy.

Christine:

Parts of New York keep getting blasted . . . how bad is it where you are? My oldest dd has a friend in Buffalo and its hopeless there -- totally snowed in.

I can't imagine going from snowdrifts to sandy beaches. We don't get any snow here to mention and when we do, its about an inch once every 10 years.

The front that will be bringing all of you bad weather is coming through here Tuesday morning but we'll only get spotty rain at best.

Lisa

It is not bad where I am, we are about 50 miles south of where the worst of the snow is, we have maybe 20 inches of snow, it has been really cold, they just seem to make such a big deal of the storm coming, that I am really hoping they are just hyping it.
We have had a number of issues coming up in the last few weeks, and we reallllllllyyyyyy need this vacation, it just seems that the weather is one more thing trying to stop us.

What are your plans so far Sue?
:scared:
Well...
Southwest is still not willing to make changes until an airport state of emergency is declared. I guess we will stick with our scheduled flight and hope for the best. I will keep checking with them, but now all the flights we could make on Tuesday are full, so our only chance is getting an earlier flight on Wed. At least that way, there is one more opportunity to get out.

It looks like Thursday and Friday flights are booked solid...I am getting seriously stressed out now, but won't let the kids see it.

We plan to leave first thing Wed. AM and see if they will get us on the earlier flight if it goes. Not much else we can do:sad2: I refuse to think past that point, or I may need to open a bottle of wine, and it's too early for that.

How about you? What are your plans?? Can you leave early and stay in DC for a night? The weather isn't looking too good for you either, is it?

OK I am losing it. Full panic mode now...How in blazes am I supposed to get down there? I booked 3 days ahead of the cruise to avoid this situation, and if the airport closes Wednesday, I am probably stuck here next week. It will not be pretty, that's for sure. I hope this storm is not what they are predicting!!!!

We are catching the train on Thursday, so worst come to worst we will leave early Thursday morning, I think that the worst of the storm will be past us, if it is not and we are delayed and don't get the train we will drive, it takes us 18 hour from home, if we drive straight through, so I know that we will make it.
We will get there, I just would rather not drive.
Driving of course is always an option for you also, you could rent a car and drop it off before the cruise.
