We just got back from WDW and had a great time, now really starting to look forward to next year's cruise.......

Welcome back Christine! Was WDW packed to the brim? We may go there a day or 2 before the cruise next year. I don't want to spend the $ for a single day ticket if it is ridiculously crowded. We're also looking at Universal...

Is the day we can reserve our Palo ressies Nov 17? Not sure I figured it correctly.

Finally less than a year!!

thanks we had a blast on this years eastern cruise I know pres week is a busy week but we had a great time as did the kids .. I have the navigators and all the other stuff that was left in our staterooms I will try to scan them this week sometime.

Sue, WDW was very crowded, but we have been there so many times, so for us it does not really matter, also we using fastpasses, we were able to do everything that we wanted. We did spend a lot of time at the pool, relaxing, we had made ADR for all of our meals, and did see lots of people turned away. I think that we will go down 1 day early, but probably just hand out at the pool and go to Downtown Disney.

That's what we are doing this year before our RCCL cruise. Arrive Friday and hang out at non-park WDW spots till we cruise from FL on Sunday. Is the week before Feb. vacation as crowded?

Hi everyone! For those of you that have already done the eastern itinerary, do you have any excursion advice? I am really stuck on what to do! I've got it narrowed down to Rhino Riders or Golden Eagle Catamaran for St. Maarten, and Trunk Bay snorkeling or the Doubloon Sailing snorkel on St. Thomas/ St. John.

Kelly

Kelly we just did the eastern last week and had a great time our first 7 day we did the wonder before that ... looking forward to the eastern again the sea days are great .... as for excursions ... we did them on our own they are much cheaper .... I was told by some that you can book these excursions on your own ( the ones you listed above ) either way we have only been home since sunday and we are ready to go again

Dave-
That's good to know. Were the excursions THAT much cheaper? I just get concerned about having to cancel and their cancellation policies if the ship doesn't dock at a specific port. Also, if they run late and we miss the ship, it's our problem... Which ones did you book and who from?

Report on Allegiant Air

The flights were not really that bad! On the way down someone had a peanut allergy, so we couldn't eat the peanut crackers I had brought along. We had cookies, our own soda, etc. We were assigned seats at check-in, and DH and I got exit row! DS17 sat a few rows away from us. He doesn't mind of course. The return flight leaves too early (7:40 am) but Alamo rental return was easy. Park the car, and drop keys in box. Our pilot got us back to Worcester almost an hour early! The planes were MD 80 series, with 3 seats on one side, and 2 across the aisle. I have flown SWA so much it was really different and less stressful to have the assigned seat. DH is willing to fly them again, and the price is better now than SWA from PVD.

Hope that answers some questions.

Hi Debbie-
I am so relieved to hear about Allegiant! We are booked on them for our flight to FL for our RCCL trip this April. My biggest concern was dropping the car in the AM at Alamo because we also have an early AM flight, on a Sunday.. Was it a long walk from the drop off area to the terminal? My DFIL is in a wheelchair. We are wondering whether to drop him and MIL at terminal and drop car, or just push him--depends on location of drop area (and the weather at the time).
Thanks for the info-you really put my mind at ease. :goodvibes Now off to alamo.com to book the car for the last day after we get off the ship. Once I do that, I have nothing left to do but pack and wait to leave!
Thanks!
~Sue

I dropped off DH and DS with all the luggage and then returned the car. It is a very long walk from the terminal. Alamo is the last building and you walk down a long sidewalk, across a boardwalk, cross a street and then you're at Alamo. It doesn't compare to Disney long walks, but it's not in the terminal;) I would plan on dropping your party off and then returning the car. By the way try using "ORLESS" as a code at Alamo. That saved us over $100 on our intermediate rental!

Hi!! :wave2:

We just got off the Magic (Western) this past Saturday and rebooked for the Eastern next year! :thumbsup2 I am so excited!! This will be our second cruise. :cheer2:

I have two dd's who will be 13 and 5 on this cruise. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all! I met a great group of Dis'ers on my cruise last week and it really made the cruise so much fun!!

There will be four of us total - me, dh, dd12 and dd4 (13 and 5 on the cruise). Less than a year to go and we will be floating on the fabulous Caribbean!!! :woohoo: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc :yay:

Welcome! I would really like to do the Western. DH teaches HS, so we're limited to what's offered the President's week in Feb.

Debbie-
Keep your fingers crossed. When we are on the cruise, maybe we will be able to book for a 2007 Western :thumbsup2 during vacation week! (I know how that is-I am a teacher too.) We are dong a RCCL western this year, but if they offer a DCL Western in 08 during vacation week, we will HAVE to try it :goodvibes .

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am really excited to be here! I had an absolute fantastic time on the Western! We ended up going to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel, but it certainly didn't take away from the trip! It rained like a sun of a gun the day we were at Key West, so we didn't do a whole heck of a lot. Managed to squeeze a lunch at Margaritaville in, though!! That was fun! I also tried real key lime pie. Nothing like it in all the world! I absolutely loved it!! The Western is definitely a cruise I will do again!! We decided to do this week next year because my eldest dd is going to private school next year and they are more strict about missing school, but we did take her out for the Western!! :thumbsup2

We missed all that cold weather that was here in MA!! Talk about lucky! My mom told me that it snowed and was the coldest this year. We made it out before the snow and got back after it all melted. Couldn't ask for a better time to vacation!! :sunny:

Sue - we are in Bellingham. What part are you in? I also met another family from MA last week from the Disboard. Makes you realize that it really is a small world after all!! :)

Thanks again for the welcome and I look forward to chatting with you over the next 11 months!! Only 347 more days to go!! :woohoo:  :yay:

Hi Dave!

We were just getting on the Magic the day you left. We did the 02/25/06 Western. I have to agree with you about wanting to go again. I didn't want to get off the ship. Best vacation I have ever had in my life! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to go back!!

Moira-
I am not sure where Bellingham is, but I know I have heard of it.
We are from Pepperell. It is on the NH border near Nashua, NH.

Did you hear?? Maybe 65 degrees in the next few days!!!!

Where did you fly out of? We are trying Worcester this April. Allegiant had some good fares. We're flying into Sanford for the first time.

Hi Sue!

I know exactly where Pepperell is! I actually have been there quite a few times! I am on the way other end of the state from you. I am just off of exit 18 on 495 - the town right next to Franklin. Bellingham is on the border of Woonsocket, RI as well.

We have never flown out of Worcester. :confused3 That may be a good option for us as well - pretty central!! :thumbsup2 I am going to have to look into it! We flew out of Logan this time on American. We flew out of TF Green in Cranston, RI when we flew to DL last year on Jet Blue. That was a great airline! We are flying Delta (out of Logan) when we go to DL next month.

I can't wait for the beautiful weather this weekend!! :woohoo:  I can't believe how great it is going to be! I am hoping to open a window or two! :yay:
