February 14-18, 2010 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Sorry, I have been busy this week. My daughter had her surgery this week , she had her appendix removed. Its been a long two months on waiting for this. All is well now and we can start focusing on our cruise. woo hoo!!!!

I hope your daughter is doing well!! :goodvibes

Hi, everyone!!! Just checking in.

I would LOVE to get in on the FE Exchange, but I seriously can't sew a button so I need to think of an alternative. Any suggestions??

Has anyone booked excursions? What about Palo? I am still on the fence about that one...I know it's supposed to be great, but I really don't want to miss out on other restaurant rotations. So not sure what to do.

I have been to Atlantis 6 times and just think we will spend the day on Cable Beach at the Sheraton when we go to Nassau. I think it's only about $10-$20 per person to spend the day there. Anyone ever done that?

It is only a little over 2 months away.....CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

This cruise will start my President's week Disney Cruise Tradition. I already booked the Dream for President's week 2011! :dance3:

We booked the Dream too!!! :dance3: We are cruising after Thanksgiving. Remember to re-book on our cruise - I hear we should be able to do so at a lower rate :)

If you can reserve the Brunch at Palo you won't miss any of the restaurants- You can also chance it and make a reservation on board after you find out your dining rotation (you will need to do this soon after you board)

We are undecided about Nassau -- I really like their pools -- but they don't offer a day room anymore -- so we may just wing it.

All the best!

I want to wish everyone A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

That much closer to Feb.14th

Hello all:

Just thought I'd join in the conversation (although I have not read through all the past posts yet).

We'll be on deck 2 -- me, DH, DD5 & Niece(12), and in a connecting room, my brother, DSIL and 2 more of their kids DS14, DS9.

I'd love to do the FE, but like others am not fabrically inclined. I'll see if I can find something for us.

My husband and I booked an excursion at Nassau and a Palo reservation. Anyone know what air temps we might find in the bahamas in Feb?

Looking forward to the build up and count down! :o)

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie and welcome~

According to weather.com Nassau Average high temp in Feb is 78 and low 62 -- I'll take either :goodvibes although 78 would be ideal.

Happy Planning...Jeannine

Happy 2010, everyone!

For those of you still on the fence about Palo, I read in a few places that on the Wonder we will repeat restaurants on nights 2 and 3. Hope that helps for your planning:goodvibes

MYNEVERLAND: Welcome!!!!! They are alot of us that is not very crafty. But I am willing to try. I have a DD (14) and DS(9). I am hoping that they all can meet up when we board. My DD and Laura's DD are Facebook friends now and are willing to meet others if they are on FB. I thought it would help for her to make friends before we cruise, I did not like the idea of her walking around by herself.

I am back from visiting family in TN. Fun and exhausting! But now I am ready to get back into cruise mode. I started to unpack my suitcases from my trip today and put them away and then I thought, WHY? lol I need to get started on my FE. Like Stephanie , can't sew. So it might take me awhile.lol

Ok, How long is the ribbon that hangs around the fish on the FE? HELP!!!

I was looking at some locker, shoe and wall organizers online yesterday. Do you think those will work as FEs? I'm hoping to go shopping this weekend to check them out a little more.....

NitaO: My neice and nephews (14, 12, 9) might be interested in meeting some new people. Seems like a great idea! Hoping my daughter (5) will too, so she'll be begging to go to the kids clubs to play. :)

Myneverland: I posted my email address back on p.1 so if your niece wants to write my daughter she can. Her name is Ashley. I think its a great idea they get to know each other before the cruise. Makes it easier on them.

I just got my room assignment, Pd. for a Cat.12 and got Cat.11 . Not really an upgrade but its mid ship on Deck 6. It looks like it is a great location. I am happy to just be on the ship. haha

38 Days and counting, woohoo

MY NEVERLAND: My DD13 could email her, too, send me a PM with an email address if she wants to. Also, I have a DS 5, he is shy at first so will probably be hanging out in the beginning with our friend's DS9, especially since now the kid's clubs are less restrictive on age group activities. I noticed you have a Dnephew 9, they might want to hang out with each other and Anita's DS10! Where are you staying the night before? We are staying in Cocoa Beach, I am hoping to get a meet scheduled with those staying in that area the night before.

NITA: How are you guys looking next weekend (Jan 16/17) ? I would love to get together with you somewhere, whether it be my house, your house, or somewhere in between (we like Town Center in Kennesaw). I have to check with the Sangsters to see if they are free, too.

Sounds great! I'll get the info to/from my neice (12) and see what she wants to do this weekend.

We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral on 2/13. Pricelined it for $49 a night. Whoo hoo! We don't get into Orlando International until 6:30pm, so we won't be settled in or ready to meet anyone until probably 8:30pm or so. Would that be too late?

We have an excursion booked (Dolphin encounter) with our DD5 in Nassau. Have you heard about the recent crime there? Hopefully, it's safe on the off-island that this excursion takes place on.......

We also paid for a Cat 12 GTY for 4 people. We just found out we are in a Cat 11 on deck 6.

Are we will on for the FE? I was going to look on ebay for suggestions or cheat and get one already done. I am still a little confused on it, how many items do I need to bring as gifts to put in others FEs?

Sorry for all of the questions, 38 days out and I am just now trying to get organized.

MY NEVERLAND: Great price on the CIS, I booked there first but they were going to charge me $200 for one night in a kidsuites, they said that was the park & ride room package price (we're driving down). I started looking some more and decided on the Quality Inn & Suites for $100 which includes parking and the Radisson shuttle. 8:30 might be a little late for eating supper but we would probably still be there at that time.

MJCOLEMAN: We are planning to do the FE, look on the first page of this thread on my first post and I have a list.

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE: I think we should just leave it to everyone to decide for themselves what they are going to do as gifts. I've seen on other threads that some do one goodie bag per cabin and some do individual gifts based on age and gender. I think I'll also add to my list the days and you can let me know what day you want to deliver, we are going to have a few cabins each day deliver to everyone, so you aren't delivering every single day. I also need to know what specific cabin everyone will be in so I can add that to my list. I'm going to look through other meet threads and see what they are doing, and if anyone on here has any suggestions please post them! This is my first cruise so I have no experience participating in much less organizing an exchange! I am a control / organization freak so I just jumped in on doing this!

Same here, just getting started on FE things. What room did you guys get? We got #6069. I really like the location.

Laura: I will have to talk to the husband, he usually works on the weekends, but me and the kids are available, its crazy living this close and not meet up. Do we need to get a list of all the people that are in the FE and their room numbers? or just add to the list your already have going on the 1st page. Is this how it works?

LOL.... Great minds think alike. Look at our times posted.

Wow... I just checked this thread and there didn't seem to be anything new. You guys must be in cruise mode now that the holidays are over!

I am so looking forward to Feb 14th but I seriously feel like I have a million things to do between now and then! (And of course... here I sit typing on the computer.)

We are in room 5520. Gotta work on that FE. If anyone is so inclined... there were some really cute ones on ebay:) I even sew and I am tempted to just buy one. Did we have a deadline for sign ups? I don't really care which day we deliver... we'll just take whatever.

I love to meet up the night before we cruise but I don't think we are going to be staying at port. We'll be visiting my parents in the Sarasota area so I'm thinking we'll just wake up early and drive over. Not sure on that one yet. Is that crazy?

What's everyone doing in the Bahamas? I'd love to do the dolphin swim but it's not in the budget right now. Depending on the weather, I'm thinking of doing a beach day at the Hyatt or Wyndham.

Okay, laundry calls! Better sign off...

We are in stateroom 6055...right near the stairs, I hope that does not mean a lot of noise. Has anyone thought about buying an upgrade at the port?

I have decided to just buy a FE off ebay...saves me a lot of stress. I am a perfectionist and if I will stress myself out to make a perfect one. Maybe $30 bucks is worth the anxiety and time savings.

Anyway, I read that a lot of people bring photo mats or pillowcases to leave at guest services to have signed by the characters. Anyone planning on doing that? The photo mats seem like a great idea.

I counted 8 cabins in the FE with 38 (?) family members. So this would mean that we each gift 38 items on one day of the cruise? I am perfectly OK with this, but I just want to get the numbers right so I can do some shopping (my favorite thing). I would like to do it on the Sunday evening (will everyone what the FEs up by then)....get the cruise started off right....great valentine's day theme :flower3:.

In Nassau, we are planning on doing the pirate museum and visit Atlantis to see the Aquarium and maybe buy the Atlantis beach package. My boys do not meet the height restrictions for the waterpark slide, so no sense wasting money there. Then after that do a little shopping (my favorite thing again :cheer2:) and head back to the boat. I have been concerned about the safety in Nassau and have even considered staying on the boat....but I can't go to the Bahamas and not set foot on it. Anyway, is it really worse that DC or NYC?
