February 14-18, 2010 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Hi all,

We will be on this cruise also. Myself, DH, DS(7) and DS(5). This will be a first for all of us, so I am not sure what to expect :confused3. The FE sounds neat, sign me up if you are still accepting newbies. Will you be posting the "rules"?

Mjcoleman Welcome !!!!! I have only been one 1 other cruise myself, but taking DH and kids this time and they have never cruised at all. I think we are going to have a great time. I know that some of the Disers here have been on alot of them. We are hoping to get tips...
The Fe exchange does sound like fun. I need to get started on making one and some gifts. I am not that crafty.

Thanks so much. We are coming down from Arkansas. We fly in on the Saturday and are staying at the Marriott Airport (got it for $56 on priceline). We will then take the Disney bus over to the port.

Where do you live in AR. I grew up in Camden. All my family still lives there. But I live in Georgia now. We are just driving down the day before, get a head start on our Vacation.

What a small world. I grew up in Monticello. I now live in Lowell (between Fayetteville and Rogers).

Welcome mjcoleman! It's good to find another DS5, although there are several pretty close!

As for FE rules, I am attempting to organize it - you'll have to bear with me as I have never cruised before much less done a FE! If anyone has suggestions please feel free to do so!

I think we'll divide up participating cabins among the nights, so each night a couple cabins will make their distributions to all participating, so you won't have to do it every night. Let's set a deadline of December 14 to decide if your cabin wants to participate, that will be 2 months to go. Either post here or send me a PM, I will list on the roster who is participating. Also, we will need cabin numbers, so post that and I will add that to the roster, too.

Made Palo reservations and parasailing reservations around 12:15am! So excited to finally have an itinerary shaping up!

OK so now that the cruise is paid in full, I guess it’s time to get on this list and start getting excited.:woohoo:

This will be the 2nd Disney Cruise for our family.
DH (me):cool1:, DW (not telling):hippie: , DD (14):yay:, DD (11), :hyper2: DD (11)

So just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone.
Now that we are past the Dec 1 date I’m sure this list will start to see a lot more activity.

aljsdad: Welcome.... I am so glad more people are joining in. This is our first Disney cruise, We are so excited. I too have a DD that is 14 yrs.old.

We'll be there, too. We just made the final payment on our cruise yesterday.

This will be our first cruise ever. (I was in the Navy years ago, so I'd never really felt the need to go to sea while on vacation.) :)

Anyway, after much debate, we decided that we couldn't pass up a few days at WDW along with the cruise. Our DS (13 years old) is out of school for the week, so it seemed pointless to fly home on Thursday right after the cruise. We also have a short stay prior to the cruise to avoid flying in on the day of the cruise departure.

I'm really looking forward to this vacation!

Hi, everyone!!! Just checking in.

I would LOVE to get in on the FE Exchange, but I seriously can't sew a button so I need to think of an alternative. Any suggestions??

Has anyone booked excursions? What about Palo? I am still on the fence about that one...I know it's supposed to be great, but I really don't want to miss out on other restaurant rotations. So not sure what to do.

I have been to Atlantis 6 times and just think we will spend the day on Cable Beach at the Sheraton when we go to Nassau. I think it's only about $10-$20 per person to spend the day there. Anyone ever done that?

It is only a little over 2 months away.....CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

This cruise will start my President's week Disney Cruise Tradition. I already booked the Dream for President's week 2011! :dance3:

welcome Corwin: Nice to have so many people join in..

We have not booked any activities yet, really have not decided what we wanted to do while in Bahamas. Husband did not want to go to Palo's this time around. I am ok with that.

We're trying to decide what to do in Nassau as well. I think that we are leaning toward a couple of hours on a beach, but don't know whether we should go to a free beach (such as Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island), or one of the pay beaches (such as the beach at Atlantis, or Cable Beach).

Thanks for the welcome! We're also trying to decide if Palo is worth it. The reviews are very good, but we're not sure if we want to leave our son by himself during the meal.

ok, I have my passport and just got Husband's. Decided not to get the kids, just yet. Too much other stuff going on, 2 kids Birthday's, Christmas and paying off cruise. I am just going to use their birth cert. Has anyone else done this? I am alittle worried. I did talk to a cm over the phone and he said it would be fine, plus both kids have a photo id( military).

Hi all. Been busy getting ready for the holidays but just wanted to let you know that we definitely want to do the FE exchange! It might be nice to get a list going to see how many goodies we'll need. Lots of sales going on right now!

We're super excited for the cruise! Passports should be here soon. We decided to get them for all of us because we travel to Canada quite a bit. Is everyone makine reservations for shore excursions? I'm still very undecided. All of the talk about crime in Nassau has me scared off a bit. I'm thinking of just staying on the boat but that seems a bit strange also. We'd go all the way to the Bahamas and not even see anything?? What to do... what to do...

Sorry, I have been busy this week. My daughter had her surgery this week , she had her appendix removed. Its been a long two months on waiting for this. All is well now and we can start focusing on our cruise. woo hoo!!!!

There is a list started on the 1st page, You are on it!!!

ok, this is really bad, I have started having nightmares about something happening to prevent us from going on the cruise (and we still have 8 weeks to go)! I dreamt last night that we packed our passports, birth certificates, etc. in our checked luggage and couldn't get to them to check in! Also my husband (who is a truck driver) was going to meet us at the cruise terminal but found out he had to take care of his broken down truck! AAAAAHHHHH! I hope this is not going to happen on a regular basis, I'll be a nervous wreck!

On a separate matter, is it ok with everyone to extend the FE signup deadline to Jan 14? I know I've been so busy concentrating on Christmas I haven't had time to think about anything else. I still need to tell my friends about it! I imagine everyone else is the same and we only have a few that have said they would definitely do it. Once Christmas is over then I can really start focusing on the cruise preparation.

If I don't make it back on here before then Merry Christmas from my family to yours! Look forward to seeing you all soon!

Happy Holidays to everyone -- getting excited about the cruise -- received a couple of e-mails from DCL :goodvibes made me smile.

Been very busy, recently back from WDW -- SOOOO Beautiful this time of year.

Put off final shopping until this weekend -- but got hit with 23 inches of snow-guess I'll be braving the malls at night (totally insane) -- Have 20 people coming over on the 25th - working on the 24th - and off to a party that night -- I may have a bit of a meltdown before the week is over -- but I do love the holidays :santa:

I can't believe we leave in less than 2 months :cool1: There I feel better now ;)

Best wishes for a wonderful 2010
