February 12th, 2005 Western. Who's going???

Thanks for the info. DH is fine with wearing a suit and says the kids will wear what we want them to that night as it is just a few hrs out of the cruise.
They are agreeable with that. DD likes to dress up.
Mike, I LOL at your 3 hr = 1/2 day comment. Must be all the rum/tropical drinks they drink that makes their addition skills rusty.

Sorry, another question, anyone dressing up for pirate night?
DS is game to dress as a pirate, but of course we don't have a costume.
Any suggestions? I saw a few costumes after halloween that I could kick myself that I didn't purchase. Kids were with me, didn't know about the trip and I couldn't come up with a quick story as to why we needed the costumes. Anne

Alot of people dress up for Pirate night. A full night of Pirating.......Yo Ho Yo Ho, a pirates life for me......... We want's the Redhead.........

Jen, Sounds like a plan. Studio Sea at 3PM. How many people do you think will particpate ?? The thread seems to have only a few active participants. It makes it easier for us to remember the names lol........
........

I have no idea how many will be there but hopefully there will be lots. I also hope that we can get a big group together for brunch at Palo. Having a big group and being in the private room in the back was so much fun last time.

We're not planning on dressing up in pirate stuff. I don't have the costumes and I refuse to go buy any. LOL Does anyone know what night the Pirate night will be? I'm just trying to figure out if we should go to Palo on Wed. or Friday night.

Hi,
Glad to see so many people are going. :cool1: Are there going to be any single parents? My son 14 and myself are so excited to be spending quality time together for a whole week. :teleport: I would, however, like to eat at Palos and am looking for someone who would like to join me.

Join us all for brunch. It will hopefully be a group of us going.

I've read that Pirate night is Wed pm.

I found one pair in the girls dept. at JCPenney's on Sunday. The only bad thing about that is that Kaela is at the point where she's ready to move into the Juniors dept. So these short will fit her for the cruise but I'm almost positive that they won't fit in the summer. And I like your idea of not spending the money on pirate clothes but saving it for drinks!

I found a formal dress on E-bay that wsa very pretty and even though I already have a formal, I tried to win it last night. No luck though so I guess it wasn't meant to be. It would have been fun though because it was bright red and would have been perfect for us having formal day on Valentine's!

Thats the great thing about being a guy......... Shorts, Hawaian Shirts, a Bathing Suit, and a rentent tux for formal night...........and im packed and ready to sail.

The beauty of the room key charge is you dont realize what you have spent on drinks and stuff until the end of the cruise................

Just booked the 1115 stingray trip with Captain Marvins. The will by my family & df also. Kids are all talking big right now, we'll see.
We are going to add the turtle farm tour thing to the end of that trip. Thanks Mark for suggesting it, dh agreed that it looked like a must see once.

Neither i or df big shoppers. If there is a must buy let me know, I'm a early riser by nature. But from what I've read things arent back to normal in Grand cayman yet.

The room key bit did get me in trouble @ disney world a few years back. A 100 plus bar tab :earseek:

Thanks for the invite. I'd love to go. I understand that there's a DisMeet at 3PM outside of Studio Sea the first day. Is that still on? When would brunch happen to be?

I'm so excited. This will be my fifth Disney Cruise...can we say, "addicted?"

Could someone give me a idea what the best way to keep the room key with child? My girls are blond & sometimes I think they are on a diffrent planet. I'm pretty sure that they wont be able to charge. But I really would like ideas on how to keep kid & key together. Thanks

The best way is a lanyard. They will not have charging ability unless you want them too. You can buy them on the ship for about 6 dollars.

Francisca,

Glad you'll be joining us on the 12th! Yes, the DIS meet is still on for 3pm outside Studio Sea. As for the brunch, I'm not sure if we'll do that on Monday or Thursday. I guess it just depends on when or if I can get it booked. Once we all start getting our docs and know our room numbers for sure, I'll start making a list of names and room numbers so I can attempt to secure reservations. I plan to be at port early so hopefully it won't be a problem.

So are any of you going tanning before the cruise? I just went today and bought a package. I'm hoping not to quite so pasty white and hoping it will help me avoid being Lobster Girl.

Yep Jen I'm tanning, but I'm always tanning. Friend owns business that hz tanning to I go on & off all year. I'm a redhead so I never get very dark & alway use @ least spf 15 on face. What type of lotion do you use on your girls? I have spf45 & 30 that we used last summer. Do you think I will be enough? They both are blond & fair. But they do brown up in summer. My youngest gets dry skin & rashes fairly easy, never leave home w/o corizone 10.
How cold is it there? Just heard about some real low temp your way
Bye for now

Hi Jen, We (DW and I) tan before any Caribbean trip. Sun is just brutal on us poor northerners. Make the first day in the sun alot more relaxing.

I have started to add up all the clothes my DW and DD have bought, it might end up costing more than the cruise !!!! LOL............ It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff you accumulate to go on a cruise.

The weather here is miserable, on top of the freezing cold, now they say we might get 6 inches of snow. Three more weeks from Wednesday we leave........ It will seem like forever.

Mark
