Julia, its best to book the parasailing before you get on the ship. We are doing a tandum at 3:30, I think.

Jen, just make sure we can find you at Studio Sea, Big head or not...........

Mark

Mark,

DH and DD are scheduled for the 3:30 parasailing too!

And I should be easy to spot at Studio Sea. I'll be the one with the huge smile on my tear streaked face. I get so goofy and emotional at big events like this. LOL

Jen or Mark,
Do you know where the long hair braiding line starts?
And/or when we can start signing up?
Thanks,
Anne

I believe they had the sign up table outside Walt Disney Theatre on the first night but I could be wrong. I know they had signs up in the elevator and that's how we found out where they were. I'm sure if you ask at guest services they'll be able to tell you.

It'll be interesting to see if they can even do Kaela's this year. Last June she had all of her long beautiful hair cut off to donate to Locks of Love. It's just now getting so that it doesn't look like I tried to cut her hair myself.

We're leaving on the 10th. DH's cousin lives down there so we had to make sure to see him. I think the plan is that we're going to Kennedy Space Center on Friday. And of course we have to go check out Ron John's. DH's cousin is one of the managers there so hopefully he can get us a deal on some souveniers. :flower:

We are going to stay in Disney World for 2 nights prior to the cruise. I was hoping to get into Pop Centurey or All Star Movies, but all the Disney value resorts are booked. Only thing I could get was Port Orleans. So much for Disney not being crowded the week before president's week. We have Annual Passes, so It will be good to use them. Besides, I didn't get to ride rockin roller coaster at christmas.....i was too busy taking care of 14 people's schedules...........

We would go the Cocoa Beach, but the weather is a bit unpredictible this time of year..........So Mickey will get some more of our Money !!!!

Looks like we'll all be in the long hair braiding line. Both dd want it done dd 8 hair is longer than older but oldest hair is very thick. I'm thinging about it my self. Never had it done before, not much into doing hair. Wash & go, are my normal hair styles.
Mark my friend that is traveling with us hz ds 10. He'll be looking for other boys, the three girls get on his nerves a bit.
Ok now I'm getting a bit stressed over stuff, nothing new for me. LOL
I like to plan ahead, now my friend is more the fly by seat of pants gal. She really doesnt stress. So I'm taking on her stress.
Hopefully dd will feel better & get back to school.

A great hint for getting autographs..... Drop a new pillowcase, or a new t-shirt off at guest services, in a ziplock bag, with a sharpie marker, and the main charcaters sign it. You can pick it up the last day of the cruise. Very nice way to suprise the kids................ :cool1:

Oh sure Mark, I'll get right on that. Now let's see, where did I put that Pixie Dust??? :earboy2:

Thanks MImom. My grandmother's name...from Amsterdam. Sorry you guys are so cold up there. Here in GA it's pretty pleasant today.

JenGang...just really wanted to say a BIG "Thanks" for keeping us all together with a DISMeet and starting this thread in the first place.

Can't wait to see the ship over the bridge again. :)

Hi everyone!
My family and I are going on the Feb 12 cruise as well. This is our first and I am so excited I could just burst! :jumping1: There will be myself and DH, DS-12, DD-10, DD-7, DD-4 and my parents too.

I noticed many of you booked Stingray City through Capt Marvins...Have any of you used Capt Bryans? or heard anything about them?

Only 3 weeks to go! :cheer2:

Welcome Dizny4us! Glad you could join us. We're planning a DIS meet and it would wonderful if you'd like to join us. It's going to be at 3pm outside Studio Sea on the first day (12th) of the cruise. Also I'm going to try to get us group reservations for Palo for brunch. If you'd like to join us, I'll be getting names and room numbers once everyone knows for sure what room they're in.

And no, I've never used Capt. Bryan's. This is our first Western cruise.

Hi everyone,
Hope this is OK to post here. Wanted to let you all know I received an e-mail about the over the counter drug Phenylpropanolamine, which is in a lot of diet pills and cold remedies - check your labels. It's been linked to increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain) among women 18-49 yrs old in the 3 days after starting a medication with this drug. Although problems haven't been found in men, the FDA recommends that everyone should stop taking this drug and any medicine it is in. Heard that Triaminic was recalling some of it's products, because it may increase strokes and seizures in kids.

For more info check out
www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/ppa/default.htm

Take Care,
Anne

Is it time to leave yet.......Now where's Jen with that pixie dust...........

I don't remember where I put it but I need to find it fast! We've had very little snow so far this winter and now they're saying that we might get 4" tomorrow. Not that 4" is a lot but I'd rather have none! LOL I think I'm getting old or something because I've really grown to hate our winters. Oh well, I guess since all the family is here I'd better just grow a thicker skin and deal with it!

Hello to anyone sailing on the Feb. 12 2005 Western cruise. We just got back from the Feb. 7th sailing and we loved it so much that we booked again for next year. :Pinkbounc

I know for sure that 2 other couple that were on that sailing also booked for next year so why not get the list started and make it a busy one! I guess I'll get started with introducing myself and my family. I'm Jen and my dh is Joe. We have 2 girls. Kaela will be 11yo when we sail and Beth will be 8yo. We're from the freezing tundra otherwise known as Minnesota.

Hey Jen thanks for the reply, some of the things I have read I am not sure about. Like do I really need sand pails, shovel etc. for cc. I have a connecting room and I was told to bring bungie cords. Gosh, I have a lot of questions. Bringing water bottles, snacks, and I am getting conflicting stories regarding pop is it free or do you have to buy a mug. Lets start there.

Stepheni, First off, Welcome to our list!

Sand pails and shovels~ I would say that if you think your kids are going to want them, bring them because they don't have any just sitting around on the beaches. My DD Beth just had a blast last year digging in the sand with sticks or whatever she found but I did kind of wish that I had thought about sand toys. Maybe I'll add that to my shopping list.

I've never had adjoining rooms but from what I've read you can use them to hold the 2 doors open. So again, I guess if that's important to you, bring them with.

Snacks, water bottles and sodas~ I was never wanting for food last year. You can get stuff from room service 24 hours a day (don't forget to tip! LOL)and there are many other places to just grab something quick. Believe me, you will not starve on this vacation! LOL Of course if your kids have specific snacks they love, maybe it wouldn't hurt to bring a little something for them. The water at the drink station was very good so unless you want to lug around water bottles all the time, I guess I tend to believe you don't need to bring them. DH works in the water treatment industry and he even liked the water so it must be OK. :earboy2: As for soda, it is now free at the deck 9 drink station. It's also free in all the sit down restaurants and I believe at the buffet Topsiders. If you want a soda while at a bar, you will need to pay for it. I think I read that they are still selling the soda mug so you could take that to all the bars and get soda without an extra charge. But if I remember right from last year, it was something like $35 for that mug. Now I love soda but there is NO WAY that I could drink enough in a week to make it worth spending that. Plus I didn't want to have to carry the mug all over the ship.

So there's a start to your questions, feel to ask away and we'll all do our best to help you out.
