You are awesome!! Thank you for putting all of this FE stuff together for this cruise. As a first time cruiser, I would have had no idea of where to even begin, so thank you again. Can't wait to set sail!!!!

I have not signed up for FE... I think mainly because I don't know how it works totally. I know about hangy thing, and you buy gifts, but how many gifts are we talking? Do you buy for the same family the whole trip? Or are you assigned one day? How do you know how much to buy? Are we talking like 40 little gifts? Or like 5. I guess this is the info I am confussed about. I was not sure I wanted to do FE, and my husband is not so sure about accumulating stuff we really don't need. But I guess I just NEED to know what you are all doing. I will try to do a bit more research.

This is my first FE as well so I can share what I have learned so far. If I get anything wrong I hope someone will correct me.

There is a post on page 3 of this thread with a spreadsheet of anyone who is participating. You can buy or make things to distribute to the people on the list. The gifts can be per cabin, or per person. You can distribute the gifts all at once or break up the distribution. I have read of people who drop off a gift a day. I am still deciding on some parts of my gift, but I am putting together a small cabin gift, and am thinking of adding something for the kids in the group. I am making the cabin gift, but may buy the gifts for the kids.

Gifts can be anything that you would like to give. I have seen people do Disney theme, useful items, things from their home town/state, and anything you can think of.

Hello All....The cruise is getting closer and for those of you still wishing to sign up for the FE Group you can do so by going to post # 33......When the FE group officially closes on January 15th, I will start putting together a detailed map of the ship with cabin #'s and names listed.

I still have one cabin with a GTY so if KLINGER can send me there cabin # as soon as they get it, it would be much appreciated.

Well... I got the no go on the FE from my hubby. Kinda bummed but I respect his decision. This being our frist cruise and all I am sure there will be enough magical things to do.

But... My brain lives for creativity... and I just wanted to post a few theme ideas for FE gifts. (I am not going to post specific ideas because I am sure you want things to be a surprise.) But... we have a gold mine of a theme week.

Feb. 10th is Chinese New Year (aka Lunar New Year in other Asian countries) This year is the year of the snake! I am sure you can't think of any Disney characters who may celebrate this holiday.. or say... be a snake?? We celebrate this holiday in our house each year because our youngest son was born in Korea, but this years celebration will be a bit different I am sure.

Mardi Gras! But I know all you people from New Orleans who are jumping on board to escape that mess may have that covered.

Valentines Day! No brainer.

Just so many opportunities to add in a different theme to FE's that you may not get to other times of the year. Just wanted to share for people who may be stumped for a fresh idea.

Have fun guys! Wish I could be in on the fun! Maybe next time.

It's killing me! I can't wait!

My good friend Michelle (Chel) and I will be joining all of you....this will be my 8th or 9th cruise (all Disney) and probably the same no for Chel, but she has sailed Disney, Holland and Carnival.

This is a just a short girl's week getaway...her husband cruises, but mine doesn't and she gets a girls vacation this year cuz her hubby took a guys' trip.

We are also sailing again with a large group in October - on the Fantasy. This trip gets me on all 4 ships and i've not been to the Bahamas before...

Just booked my first solo cruise (2/10/13) on the Disney Dream!!! Was on the "Dream" in October and loved it so much...couldn't wait to go back. New year and spoiling myself a little

This is our first disney cruise and we will be participating in the FE. I was wondering if anyone who has already participated can give me some pointers of how to pack the FE gifts in preparation of boarding. Should this be in a special carryon or not? I am just trying to learn some of the rules and pointers to make this whole experience a great one. Thanks for any help that you guys can offer.

I usually put my FE gifts in a suitcase with checked luggage. If you have breakable items I would put those in your carry on bag. I've had suitcases get damaged from rough handling so you may not want to take a chance on breakable items.
