We told the kids last night! I couldn't stand it anylonger. I was spending time away from them planning things on the computer and relized it was no fun leaving them out of the plans. It was becoming depressing to me to not be able to share the excitement with them. I will never again underestimate the Joy of Antisipation, vs. the Surprise. We did surpise them earlier last week with a short out of town trip and they were excited. But I think looking forward to it a couple days ahead would have been more fun. Not to mention how hard it was to pack when they were not looking, and we were only going to be gone for one night for that little trip.
We have three kids, 3, 5, and 7 so we got three gift bags. In one bag there was the
DCL planning DVD. (which wouldn't tip them off much because we have gotten park planning DVD's in the past without traveling.) The next bag had three pirate T-shirts I made them for Pirates night. (Again wouldn't tip them off too much, and they really liked the shirts.)
The last bag had a Mickey Mouse Wall Calendar we got at Sam's Club. I had written in our travel plans on the February Month. It took them a while to find them. But once they figured it all out, it was pandamonium around here.

Not kidding a whole 40 plus minutes of jumping, dancing screaming, singing, thanking, freaking out. We put in the DCL planning DVD to give them a glimpse at what they were going to experience. I may as well put on static, they were too excited to watch a second of it. Too busy jumping, runnning, screaming. It was great fun. We didn't expect them to be THAT excited. Excited, yes, but not uncontrolable crazyness for over 40 minutes. It was great! The only thing that stopped it was bedtime, and the fact they return to school for their frist day after break.
The last time we did Disney my Daughter Turned 4 at Magic Kingdom, now she is seven, and honestly has not stopped talking about Disney World since.
Now I am pumped and ready to let the kids help make magnets to decorate our stateroom door. I have a few ideas ready to roll with our kids favortie green colored character. And I can get their matching park outfits made and actually get to try them on them for fit as I make them. So that makes me happy too. It really was a good thing to tell them... so I say now. Ask me again in a few days when they are tired of waiting.
