February 10, 2007 7-Day Western Who's coming?

Welcome aboard! What city and state and I will add you to the list?

We are from Hudson, WI--right on the Minnesota border, just outside Saint Paul.

My brother and his girlfriend  live in Minneapolis, MN

We are busy planning our pirate costumes--so glad to hear so many others are too! Sounds like great fun!pirate:

I just remembered something funny. My DD was telling me they were walking up a flight of steps in a tower when Jerry went down on one knee, she thought he fell and the poor guy is trying to propose and DD is trying to pick him up. Thank God it all worked out.

We finished our door sign yesterday. Went to my DD and told her we need pics of the baby for the cruise.

We really got a bargain on these cruise $4,700 for two cruises in a cat 6. I see a lot of people complain about the price, they just need to book on board and far into the future, prices are really reasonable then. :cool1:

Versus posting individually to everyone . . . I'm going to combine into one tonight . . . :thumbsup2 Sorry for the book . . . :rotfl2: I gotta catch up after being out of touch this weekend . . . :)

Welcome Tanaek - you are just a hop, skip and a jump from us . . . We are in Andover - about 20 miles north of downtown Minneapolis. When are you flying out? We are on the 9:02 a.m. AirTran flight on Friday 2/9! Our group consist of DH, DD (10, almost 11), DS (6), and the inlaws from Milwaukee.

John - great news about the upgrade!! Two weeks on the cruise, then you throw in the balcony? that is the life!! :cool1: :cool1:

Scott - So sad about the trip . . . you guys just can't cut a break, can you . . . Good luck on the lotto! :sad1: :sad1:

Deb/Sheryl - really hope they keep they night we leave Cozumel as Pirate night . . . . though I am looking at Navigators from a Western Cruise in October 2006 and they had their Pirate night the night they were in Grand Caymen . . . :sad2: Don't they know we want are time to beautify ourselves :dance3: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Jenn - DH finally decided on the jeep tour in Cozumel . . . really debated about the dune buggies, but it came down to wanting to get back to the city sooner in the day so we have a little time to hang out . . . still hoping DFIL will offer to take the kids back to the ship so DH and I can come to Charlies w/o the kids . . . :cool1:

Mags Mom - Welcom back! was wondering what happened to you . . .:) Shirley is on my list to call this week . . . I have heard such great things about her! Saw a bunch of pictures of the baskets! They look great. I'm sure your daughter will love them. I have been debating about getting one for the inlaws. . . Can't decide what to put in it though . . .

Ann - love the idea of the Dolphin Discovery! DH looked at the one where they actually swim with the Dolphins, but DFIL talked him out of it . . . I still think they should do it . . . My DD would think it is the greatest . . .though she did say she would rather go on the jeep tour if the choice was to go on the trip that just pet the dolphins . . . If I remember right the one where you swim with them you had to be 10.

Sheryl - would love to rebook on board . . . would love to talk DH's siblings into a family trip. . . my siblings would never do one . . . both are kid-less and the thought of a whole week on a Disney ship is not what they would pick if they had the money and a week to spare . . . How big of discount are we talking? How far in advance can you book? not sure how long it is going to take my checkbook to recover from this one . . . :rolleyes1

Welcome Woody and Vicki - no idea where Grand Junction is . . . Have family in West Pleublo . . .

For the readers on board . . . I will be bring the entire series of the Shopaholic series . . . Looked into Skinny Dip . . . sounds like a perfect book for the cruise . . . I never now how many books to bring . . . in a perfect world I'd need one for each day of the cruise, plus two for the flights . . .but I know I can't be a total beach chair potato, and I will have to supervise the flighting between the kids periodically :)

Have a great day! After pulling a 24 hour day on Friday, came home to find DS had a fever of 102:sick: . Still has it. . . . . and it is quarter end at work this week . . . bring it on! Knowing sunshine is close will help me through . . . ;)

Any ideas on decorating the doors? DD bought a cute heart . . . Someone on the boards recommended the new post it note picture paper . . . so I bought some . . .but have no idea right now what I will put on it to post . . . Any creative thought I had has left my tired body . . . Want to pick up a few of the green Mickey icon's from Home Depot, but DH isn't keen on that . . . He works for the competitor of that product . . .;) He says he doesn't want to be reminded of work on the cruise . . . I guess I can understand that . . .

Joksten2000--Sounds "Goofy", sweet and romantic--just like a proposal should be! I'm not holding my breath for my little Bro--but we sure do like his girlfriend--one of these days we'll wear him down! After All the DDs would be adorable flower girls--just ask me! The fun part of being the "Big Sis" is tormenting your little brother--even if we are celebrating his 30th!

Was Wondering if anyone else out there has DDs that would like to trade a few e-mails before we get on the ship? They might enjoy a penpal as much as I seem to be! My DDS again are 7 1/2, 5 and almost 3.

We are booked to do both the dolphin swim and dolphin encounters at D. Discovery--Its a big surprise for DD7 who has serious dreams of marine biologist. Has anyone done the swim before? Any tips?

Any suggestions for activities that would be fun for the kiddies in Key West?

Hinsok1--Small world--We're flying down on Airtran 2/8 --gotta make the most of our trip--couple days before and after in Ponce Inlet-at the southern tip of Daytona Beach. :cool1: Soak up the sunshine while we can!!:cool1:

Door dec idea--have the kiddies work a little coloring magic--I bought la arge package Jumbo of color sheets at Wal-mart and My girls are each working on a piece of art for our door. I saw several sites when I was searching google for Disney clip art that had disney color pages you could print for them. DDs are really proud to make a contribution to the prep. for our trip.

Thanks for the welcome. Grand Junction is about 1/2 way between Denver and Salt Lake City. we are 32 miles east of the state line. Just over 2 weeks to go. woody , Vicki

Happy Tuesday!

It's exciting the trip is getting close but the anxiety of having to bring it all together in the next two weeks is growing. Between the To Do List (personal and work related) To Buy List (this list sounds easy but I can't seem to find anything - stupid Canada) The Array of Appointments (Dentist! I received that reminder call last night -has 6 mos gone by already?, Hair & manicure appts (okay this part is not too bad), school skating trips, Hep Shot appts etc etc) ...I've still to co-ordinate a family's worth of Pirate Costumes and Formalwear... aaahh :scared1:

I think I'm going to implode.pixiedust:

Actually, I like it. A little bit.

Hope everyone has a Great day!

HI YOU GUYS!

Happy Tuesday!

To Buy List (this list sounds easy but I can't seem to find anything - stupid Canada)

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: You sound like me! I read all these great tips about the over the door shoe organizer on these boards and decided we had to have one for our tiny cat 11 room. We'll be hanging out in our cat 5 room across the hall most of the time, but I still don't want to come back to a messy, crowded room to get ready and sleep, etc. From the sounds of people on these boards you just run down to the local $$ store and buy one. Not here. No way. I have been in every dollar store in the northern GTA, every Wal Mart, every other store that I thought might carry one of these. (OK I did find one for $39.95, but that was NOT what I was looking for!!) Finally, after checking Wal Mart 3 times, I found one there last week. I guess they finally got things cleaned up after Christmas. RELIEF!!

Anyway, to make a long story short  if that's one of the things you are looking for Jenn, I would be happy to pick one up for you. It was something like $10.97--not a $!, but at this point I was spending more in gas looking for the dang thing!!!:lmao:

Well, looks like you guys will just have to tell me how my sister is. I am not impressed at all with the way Disney Cruise runs its operation or treats its Cast.

They have said all along that we can get this cast rate, then they wait until there is nothing left to purchase on your own that is less than a small fortune to tell you that they dont think they will be able to get you a cabin...maybe they can..maybe they cant, but you have to wait until day of departure to find out.

I have always wanted to take the cruise, was more excited with my sis on board...totally unimpressed now. So, unless I win the lotto...have a nice cruise.

Scott, Did you get all the pictures of your sister that you wanted? I'm not a professional photographer or anything, but if you wanted some more shots of her just let me know. I'd be happy to try to take some at the show.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe Disney will get their act together and let you know ahead of time.

DCL is killing me with the room changes. I'm leaving Scott and his family on until he says for sure. Lots of DISers on deck 6. Blue Margaritas will be on deck 5 and by the Adult pool.

Scott,
My brother just bought one of those DVD camcorders for the trip so we can tape the show if you can't make it.

Ok, I am getting a final head count for the Sotos Stingray tour. As far as I have it 4DuncansFromCanada(Jenn 2 adults and 2 kids) and Ocean Breeze(Deb 3 adults and 1 kid) are joining us. Was there anyone else? Demswalsh, didn't you say you had booked their first tour also? How does anyone get any work done at work? :sad2:

almost missed this post.. yep, we're still in too! Thanks

Looks like all the good folk are in cabins that start with an 8 :cool1:  :dance3:

:rotfl: In my case, just stupid. Let's say ill-informed. We 'won' the majority of this cruise.. a few 'cruise-knowledgeable friends/coworkers' told me to upgrade to the best cabin I could. Duh. Oh well, I'll just have to enjoy the cruise twice as much seeing as I probably paid twice what I could have! hmm, maybe if i don't sleep.
