February '09 Wonder Cruise meet!

bored out of my mind at work...but i have to be here.
I agree..it takes WAAY! too much time out of my cruise planning!
I printed out a list of tips for the cruise and I'm going over it with a fine tooth comb.
Highlightiing all the really important stuff.

I decided that today and tomorrow will be house cleaning. Then I can dedicate my entire weekend to making door signs and packing.

Hello!

I've come to realize that I just might not get EVERYTHING done...as much fun as it would be to make my FE, I'll probably break down and buy one from eBay. I might not get a ton of magnets made for our door. I might not get this - or - that done, but regarless we'll be on that ship! That's all that counts, right?!

Hello everyone, Question What kind of things do we get the kids for the fish extenders? Do we put them in everyday or once? HELP.... Please someone...
D&A:confused3

We are only going to do one gift. It takes too much to get around the ship to it more than once. We don't want to take away from anyone's fun time.

As for the gifts....it's a secret...lol. I have no clue really. Some are store bought and some are handmade. There are 23 participants so it shouldn't affect anyone's budget either...just a little something for fun.
I still haven't decided what I am going to do....

So I've got a little time before I need to head to the college, so I'm actually making door magnets! Let me just tell you - I am shocked  I'm doing it! I didn't think I'd find the time between my classes, and being a mom / wife every day! :laundy:

Making magnets is good for the soul! Now I see why you all put so much time into it! It's a little addicting, huh?

Tonight we're heading for the city to pick up more trip necessities. Here's our shopping list:

* sandals for me & DH
* a few casual tops for me
* soft sided cooler - possibly rolling
* an ENTIRE wardrobe for DS! He has outgrown EVERYTHING!:groom:

Better get the Disney Rewards Visa out, huh? At least we'll get a few more rewards dollars out of it to use for the trip! :hyper:

is to make a list for tomorrow's agenda...:rotfl2:

I managed to get all my housework and laundry done last night. Tonight is a quick night of bingo with Mom (practicing for the ship), tomorrow is a Girl Scout Aloha party (getting ready for a tropical good time) and then it's back to work on the cruise!:beach:

I managed to narrow down my choices for door magnets. Now I just have to customize them with our name and dates.

I signed up for photobucket too. So when I get home I can start posting pics of what we have done so far.:surfweb:

We are doing the land and sea so our countdown is a little different...but that's okay! we just get the disney vibe that much sooner! :goodvibes

27 days!!!! Here's to hoping the temps start rising!!!

I say we all just agree that we will wear 3 wardrobes per day....anyone want to join me???

Hopefully I can get some real things accomplished.....like clean the house.

But for right now, I'm craving chinese food and there is a great place in China town that I enjoy....well....in order to start on my agenda....I have to get Chinese food out of the brain first...LOL

So this is my list:
Need to do is buy gym shoes for my youngest and oldest.
And more magnets.

Now I'm drawing a blank.

I can get the little ones packed this weekend.
Someone posted a great idea for them.
Lay out each outfit for each day...including EVERYTHING,...socks and undies...
Label a large ziplock bag for each day.
This way when they open their suitcases, there aren't clothes flying everywhere. Just take out the bag for that day. And when they put their pj's on, that day's clothes can go back in the bag so they don't have dirty clothes flying everywhere.:thumbsup2
I had my dd plan each outfit for each day for our last trip. But after it was all put in the suitcase, things got jumbled up and it was a disaster.
And my little guy doesn't dress himself yet, so no worries there either. Just grab his bag for the day.
considering most of their wardrobe is going to consist of shorts and t-shirts (hopefully), im not too worried about wrinkles.:thumbsup2

As for myself, I need to try on my bathing suits and decide which ones to bring. I can't bring all of them! I went crazy when they were on clearance. I have about 6 different colors....lol.
I should look through my scrapbooking supplies to decide which colors match my suits. :rotfl2:

DCL's website is messed up! I was trying to see if I got a room assignment yet. Checking the board, it looks like there have been major problems since yesterday. Can't book or check existing reservations online or via phone with DCL!!

i hope they get that fixed soon!!!

I'm getting tired of waiting for more Mickey Mail!

What a great idea! I remember reading this somewhere a LONG time ago, when we first booked the cruise. Wow -that was a long time ago! That just means the trip is all that much closer!:hyper:

So I TOTALLY lucked out tonight. I hit the clearance racks at Old Navy and got my DS five dressy polos for $1. 74 EACH! And six t-shirts for $0.98 EACH! And a spring jacket to wear at night out on the decks for $2.99! :cheer2:

I thought I was going to do some MAJOR credit card damage tonight, but the stars aligned and I only did MILD damage! :lmao:

Guess that frees up more room for drinks-of-the-day, huh?::yes:: :drinking1

Yeah, I have to have my DH help me...we'll see if we can post some directions...give me a few minutes to work it out, k?

Got it! Of course I had to have my computer engineer of a husband to come help me figure this out - but we got it!

Ok, Wendy - instead of copying the HTML code over from Photobucket, copy the DIRECT LINK code. That should work! Let me know if you have any problems with it.

(I'm still trying to figure how to resize the pics so they don't show up SO BIG!)

Hello closely-approaching-cruise buddies,

Earlier we all tossed around the idea of having a "scheduled" meet & greet on our first day aboard. I am wondering if we want to set this in stone? My idea is to meet at the Mickey -or- Goofy pool at 3:00~3:15. This should give us enough time before the safety drill, correct? If we do a quick meet & greet early on then we'll all know each other, and can chat as we pass on the ship.

My next idea is to set up what I'm calling "DIS meet & drink." :) Since Feb. 24th is Mardi Gras I was thinking of setting up a time for us to all meet in Diversions, say 10:00~10:30 for a drink or two? This will be our Castaway Cay day, and I'd like to make the meet a little earlier, BUT we have late dinner, and I know at least one other family does as well. Maybe we could get our kiddos in their jammies, check them into the club/lab and meet for a quick Mardi Gras drink. Or, we could always do this on our day at sea.

What do you think? I'd love to hear some feedback so I can set this up so it works for us all. Thanks! Can't wait to meet you in person!
