DCL- Sarah is 41/2 going on 15!!! I would like to pre-apologize for anything that she may say or do that is rude. I would hate to have a Mommy Smack down!!!
I am kidding she isn't that bad!!(i hope)

Hi Vic,
Our daughters should get along well! My dd who just turned 4...going on 15 too has an iron will to go along with her attitude!! She sat on the naughty stool for 20 minutes just because she wanted to wear something different than I put out for her (a sundress) and it's 10 degrees!! So there she sat not speaking a word just so she could wear the dress!! AAHHH .... what am I going to do when she IS a teenager....I think the convent! All she will have to do is add a "sister" in front of her name.....Sister Mary Teresa! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh Tammy that sounds just like Sarah!! I feel your pain! I have told my husband I am moving out when she hits 10! We need to share stories over martini's!!!I had to hide all her summer clothes. And every fall the
"Flip-Flop Fairy" comes and takes her sandals and leaves a pair of cowboy boots:lmao: Other wise its a battle to get her out of them!!!!

I am so glad I am not alone!!! Mary Teresa wears her flip flops all winter around the house...not even worth trying to take them anymore!! I try to choose the battles now...but I won't let her leave the house with them on. Sometimes (and this is just sometimes) when she won't listen and wants to wear summer things in the dead of winter, I just turn the heat down:rolleyes1 and before long she is freezing and wants something else on!!!! No fighting involved!!! Just make sure you put another sweater on first! Most of the time she is so sweet, and in the blink of an eye it's an alien takeover!!

Drinks sound great!

:lmao: Sarah is the sweetest about 90% of the time, she can turn on a dime!!!It is nice to know I am not alone either!! We'll talk!

Hello everyone- I am sorry I didn't find this forum until last week, you all sound like so much fun.

Several pages back someone said that they had an 11 year old daughter on this cruise. My oldest daughter (also 11) is nervous about meeting people. She is ussually very social, but the last Disney cruise she did she seemed to have trouble finding children her age that weren't travelling with friends/cousins there own age. I also have two other daughters 8 and almost four. We are on the the 8th floor of the ship. So if there is anyone out there with girls these age I would love to hear from you.

Thanks and I hope to meet some of you soon!

Hi, my daughter just turned 4. We will be in cabin 7058.
Tammy

We'll see you at the Mickey Statue too!

What is everyone with little ones doing on St. Martin??

I know DD wants to see the butterfly farm and DS will just follow right along with her. But, the tour through Disney states they are only there for 45 min and 45 min at Merigot doesn't seem long enough.

Tammy:confused3

Hi there my dd is 41/2, ds almost 9. Wow they grow fast!
I amnot sure what floor but we are in 6516. Our friends from NJ that are in the cabin next door have 2 dd's 11&12.
Look forward to meeting you and everyone else at the Mckey Statue!

Alot of chatting has gone on while I was at church...

On our last cruise we went to the butterfly farm. 45 min is enough, the place is not that big and after seeing several butterflies the kids were ready to go. I know people have taken taxis there and then gone on to a beach.

We are planning on going to a beach while at St. Martin, not sure which one. Sure would be fun to be with other H&LBC!!

We are doing the Atlantis Sub at ST. Thomas

We have 5&6 yo girls(sometimes they act like 14&15yo's) and a 9 yo boy. I think all of the H&LD children will enjoy playing together.

Morning' all. Count me in with the lack of sleepers. I lay in bed recounting all the little things I need to pack that I'm likely to forget (things like binoculars and a mini-medicine chest) and get out of bed to make sure they're written on my list.

I remember last time my kids hardly slept the night before we left from excitement and we had to get up at 5am to make it to the airport. Same deal this year. Our flight leaves at 7:50 and we're an hour away from BWI! So, I've been lying to them and telling them we're not leaving until Sunday in hopes they'll get to sleep fast on Friday. (Yeah right, this WILL work.) Wish me luck!

Princesstrio - It was me who posted about an 11-year-old friend. I have three daughters also. We have near perfectly matched age girls. I have Olivia, who's 11, Elisabeth who's 8, and Ava who's 6. Send me a PM with your daughter's name or a note from her and I'll have Olivia send her a note.

Queen - I can't buh-lieve MIL has chosen this week of all to visit. <eye roll> Is she the type to intentionally try to aggravate you? Cuz it sounds like it.

Magic - I couldn't find anything particularly exciting excursion wise to do in St. Marteen. I do have the submarine tour booked but am probably going to cancel it since we definitely decided to do it in St. Thomas/Coral World. Our plan for the day is to putz around and hopefully catch a $5 shuttle to the beach that's really close to port. I've heard it's a nice enough place for the kids to get a little swimming in.

Good moring everyone! One day closer! YEAH!
I am working 2-11 today and off tommorow then working the rest of the week until we leave on friday. So tommorow is my last day to run around and get last minute stuff. If you all have any last minute things that you think we can't live without shout it out so I can go get it in the am. Otherwise, I'm SOL.

I am also having trouble sleeping, all the fun and pretrip thoughts running through my head. I have done all my clothes stacking and gathering of stuff I think is important, but I don't want to put stuff in the suitecases until the night before we leave. I'm afraid if I pack now that I will second guess myself all week and keep ruffeling througth the suitcases to make sure I really have what I think I have. Clearly I'm OCD/Crazy!

On top of this cruise, DH and I just started talking about out next trip to WDW for Dec 07. It's fun to think about, but I'm in Disney overload. It will have to wait until we are on a lounge chair with a libation.

Does anyone know where we have to go to make Palo ressies when we board. I don't have them and wnat to go there first.

Thanks for the help and all the happy pretrip excitement. I hope we all can sleep a little this week.

Hang in there and keep counting down:hourglass

We also couldn't find any excrusions for St. Marteen that excited us. Which is a good beach for families and do you have to take a Taxi to get to it ?

Hey Everyone,

We are going to Le Galion beach in St. Marten, it's on the french side. You take a taxi, I think it should be $50 round trip for all of us. We always go on our own, usually the kids have been too young for the excursions anyway!

Now they are DD (5 1/2, in kindergarten) and DS (nearly 3 1/2).

I amnot sure what floor but we are in 6516.
You win a prize!! :lmao: :lmao: Remind me of this and I will buy you a drink! ( mean this in the nicest, funniest way! Did you get a jump start on the "happy and laid back")

It's just like a hotel, so you are on the 6th floor, but I think they would say "deck 6"! :) ;)

I know, this weather has frozen all of our brains!

I'm at work getting some clean-up stuff done so I'm not rushed during the week.
My cold is almost gone. :thumbsup2 We aren't doing any excursions this trip. We've been to the St.'s before on other cruises and we enjoy quiet time on the ship. We do our major beach time at CC. We're shopping for new Wedding Bands at St. Thomas and we'll probably window shop in Phillipsburg. Major clothes day today and tonight. We're really looking forward to meeting all of you. These threads are great! This is our third DCL cruise and we've met some wonderful friends through the DIS boards.

Get ready for the 5 Day Dance tomorrow!:cool1:

Mom2Grace I will take an appletini at 5pm in any bar!!! It was all that nursing my babies that drained my brain!!! I really am smarter than that!!

Hey all!

Vic and Magic...I'd love to tell you it gets better...but Leah (8) was just like your 2...and it is worse now!! Don't get me wrong....99% of the time she is wonderful...but the 1%.....it's trying to say the least!!

We are planning to do a beach on our own in St. Maartin also....I've only read about Little Divi Bay....open to suggestions!!

Welcome Princesstrio!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Lisa Pisa - My daughter, Alex, was excited to hear that you have an 11 year old also. She tried to send a private message but we can't yet because we only have two posts (i guess this makes 3!). Will you be at the meet?

Princesstrio- Where are you from in Pittsburgh? I am in Pgh also and live in Hampton. We are leaving on Fri on the 745a Southwest flight. How about you?

As for St Martin I think I may be the one who brought up Little Divi. I was there in Nov and we had a great time. It is a taxi ride over, but not too far from town. They have all kinds of stuff to rent. including jet ski's and it is not very crowded at all. I'm not sure what we are going to do that day. Maybe a little shopping and to the beach right at downtown or back to Little Divi. We are planning a sailing/snorkeling day in St Thomas so I won;t have time to shop there. I may need to get my fill in St Martin.

Hope everyone is staying warm and packing. Keep counting down.
