Feb vs Oct .... we're attempting a quiet 2 days?

Quiet?

A January experience made DH willing to try again so I need a "quiet as possible" trip. His words, not mine!

February has been in the works...tentatively. NOW he wants to use the kids Fall Break (3rd wk of Oct) as a beach trip....thought I might try & squeeze in 2 days at the parks instead of driving to SoCal again 4 mos later.

So minus all the Halloween-y stuff, if we went in October 12-15(weekdays)....potentially how bad could the crowds be?

Bad. Seems like half the country has those days off for fall break, so the parks will be very busy, even weekdays. You'll find the crowd levels much lower in Feb, as long as you're not planning on going around President's Day or the very end when the cheerleader convention is going on. So if you're all about crowd levels, pick early Feb or mid-Feb, after Pres. Day.

We've been in Oct. for our kid's fall break and I totally agree with PP. It is CROWDED! It would not be a quiet few days at DLR.

You could consider the first part of Nov. after all of the Halloweentime stuff is over and before the Thanksgiving/Holiday stuff starts. Park hours are shorter and entertainment is only on weekends - so no fireworks or fantasmic or possibly Aladdin, it's possible to not even have the parade at DCA during slow/non-peak times.

We are going that week in October since it is my daughter's fall break, it does sound like a lot of others have the same idea! We are in a charter school though, most schools around here do not have a fall break.

...... and October 12 is Canadian Thanksgiving, so lots of trips at that time too

I agree. Oct will be the opposite of quiet. I'd stick to early feb.

Thank you everyone...this actually will make DH happy bc now he won't have to drive to Newport every evening after the parks!
