Feb booking dilemma....help

Okay, we are wanting to book a trip in early Feb.. Maybe the week prior to Presidents week? We are expecting a baby in late Dec and I'm not exactly a spring chick. I am a little nervous about booking now and then having to cancel. How possible would it be to book a last minute trip in Dec for Feb? We would require at least a 1-2 bedroom and the resort doesn't really matter. What do you think my chances are?

We are going the week before Presiden'ts week as well. We are staying at BCV in a 2 bdrm and MS indicated that they had lots of availability across the resorts that week. I am not sure what will happen between now and Dec., but you may find availability at one of the larger resorts, SSR or OKW.

Congrats on the new little one! We may be trying again as well, and then I will be about 20 -25 weeks on our Feb. trip.

If you can still bank those points if you have to cancel, I would go ahead and book now and make the cancelation decision before the 31 day mark. Those points will be able to be banked as long as you are within the banking windows.

Okay question regarding that suggestion. Our use year is feb. so our use year begins. right? So we would have until the end of the year to sue Banked points if we canceled? Wow, I feel new because we have never had this situation.

If your use year is February, you will have until January of '08 to use those canceled points. If you choose not to travel before Jan. '08, you can bank all of them into your '08 use year as long as you do so 6 months ahead of the end of your use year.

Just be sure you cancel at least 31 days prior to arrival. If you don't, the points will go into a "holding account". That means you can't use them to make a reservation until 60 days (or less) from arrival. Availability can be very limited less than 60 days prior.

We have been early Feb. twice and there seems to always be availability for DVC at some resort during that time frame. I know last time we did that week I ended up changing our reservation from a one bedroom to a two bedroom at BWV and it was not a problem and this was only two months out from our check-in date.
