Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

I think the main thing that we need and maybe not so specific, but thought it doesn't hurt to add, is:

Names of those participating
Ages (of the kids and girl or boy)
Cabin #

You can set lots of rules or hardly any at all! I am more for the hardly any at all. I know what I want to do but gotta have time to it!

I would also think we need a place for all the info to be accessed easily. A new thread or just a link to the post (that someone will have to update) with the list.

I am more then happy to help organize but have never done it before!!

So my info would be:

Jessica & Lin
Dallas - Age 7 - Boy
Cabin # (I don't know yet, we are in a cat 12)

Depending on how many participate, but I would think if we all did something once throughout the cruise it would be great. Even possibly trying to have certain days that people deliver so everything doesn't come the first day. But that isn't a necessity. Just throwing out thoughts.

I am sure some of the items the kids would enjoy using during the cruise. I am also more of the this is for the kids but happy for just adults to participate too! Just easier to get trinkets for the little ones.

I think it could work to leave how often each person leaves something open ended. We may even get more people participating if it isn't an everyday thing or a set plan.;)

Our info is:
Jen and Trevor
Caitlyn 7
Alexis 4
Cabin#2116

Jen:)

Okay you have obviously thought this through more than I have :rotfl:. I was trying to figure out how you would fit everything in the FE if all the families did the same day :rotfl2:. I'm open to whatever the group would like to do but I am pretty clueless about the whole thing.
Jen:)

I am definitely for less rules too! The easier, the better - and more fun.

I am going to admit now that I do not have a creative/artistic bone in my body!! So, please don't expect anything homemade. ;)
I have to order our FEs off eBay.
Our info is:

Trudy (me), Matt (DH)

Samantha (2 - DD), Alyssa (7 - DNiece), Brianne (12, DN)

We are in cabins 2583 and 2585.

Fun! :cool1:

Any chance you are on the 5:30pm Airtran flight MCO to Buffalo, on Feb 13th, (right after the cruise?)
We are....and are wondering what should do after the cruise. We rented a car, and thought we would check out the beach area in Cocoa Beach, then drive to Downtown Disney. Never thought about getting a day room.

We are on the 5:20 flight on Southwest to Buffalo. Flight #1305. The day room we have booked is at the Hyatt regency airport and not the Radisson as I previously reported by mistake. It was very reasonable and the kids will be able to use the pool and the little one will be able to nap before the flight.

Our kids are in for the FE's. Let us know what the plan is.

Shawn and Mara (Mom and Dad)
Daniel age 9
Tyler age 4
Cabin #6504

I will add our friends info and cabin # after confirming with them.

We have booked the Pirate encounter for Grand Cayman. pirate: Is anyone else going on this excursion?

Can we book palo's when we get on the boat?

Cheers

Hubby and I booked the Pirate Encounter also. We will be the couple without kids, acting like kids. Lisa.

Don't worry about Palo, you can book onboard the ship ( Rockn bar D) . Just make sure to stop by there right when you board.

We looked at the Pirate encounter too ( my 9 year old son would have loved it) but my 11 and 13 year old wanted jetskis. We booked a privite tour.
The reviews for the Pirate encounter have been quite good.

We're not booked for the pirate excursion.

I bought some stuff for our FE gifts today. I warn you all - I am going to attempt a homemade gift. It might not be pretty and you may never lay eyes on it! ;) :rotfl: Or, maybe I will give them anyway because they might be good for a laugh! ;)

Here is the information on the our friends that are on this cruise also. They too are in for the FE's.

Mark and Amy (Mom and Dad)
Son Keiran age 4
Daughter Kara age 2
Cabin #6502

I have been reading up and asking more questions about the FE from people I know that have cruised.

If it is okay with everyone I'll just keep a running list of everyone and post it from time to time. I do not know of a better way to keep it updated since none of us started the thread to post it on the first page. If you notice any mistakes please let me know. I also thought I should add our dis names with our real names.

There is a thread with tons and tons of pictures of FE gifts! Some are homemade and some are not! It was fun going through all 42 pages of it!

I would love for as many to participate as possible so I think we'll just try and let anything go as far as how we run it. If you have ideas or thoughts throw them out though. Towards our cruise date, depending on how many families we have I would like to try and see if we can possibly figure out how to have the gifts extend throughout the 7 days vs just the 1st or 2nd day. I know this will probably be hard with excited kids but also better for them to find something each day!

I figured the kids would be easy but now I see tons of ideas for the adults and heck, I think we are all kids at heart anyways!

And if I am stepping on anyone's toes please let me know!! I just want to get started on what I want to do! Also most seem to have a cut off date for adding families so everyone has time to get what they need. Then if other families come along some people can still extend gifts if they have extras!

That all sounds good to me, Jessica!

I am thinking about shipping my stuff down. I will pack some extras just in case, but I will probably need to ship it a couple of weeks before to make sure it arrives on time, right? If we don't have that many people, I may just bring it with me in a smaller suitcase and then use that case for souveneirs on the way back.

Count us in! Thanks for organizing this, Jessica & Trudy. :)

I've been updating the master list of everyone who is going -- it is on Page 6. If you see something that is incorrect or that I've omitted, please let me know...

This is not to be confused with the FE list that Jessica & Trudy have been working on -- that is just for people participating in the FE gift exchange and involves cabin#'s. The list on page 6 is just a list of everyone who has joined this meets thread.

Thanks for reminding me about the list. I saw it when I first started reading but forgot about it. Going back to look now that we booked for sure!

Just wanted to add a weekend/Christmas week greeting!

We received the first real snow of the season here in Indiana today. Concerned about how the east coast is about to get hit.

My mother asked for more gift ideas, as I've been too busy at work to give it thought. Then it hit me this week! After the last cruise I ended up trashing my "water shoes" for the beach. As such, the new ones are now on their way to the base of the tree!

48 days til our departure! Send warm wishes to all!
Gayle

Ordered our FEs today. Woot! :cool1:

Time is flying by since we booked the cruise. We have our holidays, then my daughter's b-day party is on January 9th and once that is all over it will be no time before we are leaving for our vacation. So exciting!!

BIG Congrats on the upgrade! :dance3: We've only been upgraded once from a Cat 9 to 6 (on our very first DCL - booked Land/Sea). We figure we got it so they could hook us on both the cruise and the verandah. And as usual, it totally worked! :headache:

We did not get upgraded this time, but as we booked a Cat 6, we certainly weren't expecting it. The bummer is we're in #6594 - smack in the middle of the midship & aft elevators. Just wish we were closer to an elevator. But really, when we all look at DCL, who really cares where we are, as long as it's on the ship, right?! :wizard:
