Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

I can't imagine my kids waiting to eat till 8:30pm. And if my daughter doesn't get into the club the late seating could be a big problem. I can only hope that we are able to change to the earlier seating.

We had late seating on our last cruise because we booked late. We fed the kids early at Topsiders or room service or otherwise, so they weren't starving at dinner. We also got switched on a meal to meal basis to first seating when there was an available table (people at Palo).

Let me know if I'm missing anyone new!!

:earboy2: Hey Dee it would be great to link up with you guys for dinner but as we are new to this we don't know how to link the seatings? Any help would be appreciated.
Heather

PM me with with your names (first and last) and stateroom # and I'll call DCL to get our resies linked for dinner. They'll put us at the same table on the same dinning rotation.

It's possible to ask for people to be grouped together -- you need someone for each seating who will collect the names and stateroom #s of anyone who wants to be sitting together / in the same area. That person should call DCL with the info and they SHOULD take care of it. We did this for the 10-night cruise in Dec., with over 100 DISers...It was a blast! It works best if most / all people are not wed to the idea of a particular rotation, and / or everyone can agree on one.

I just wanted to update that I am not posting as YachtSea instead of ufcabear because I had to re-register. (Long story!) Anyway, I saw the post about a Palo Brunch. I tried to book Palo and everything was full. I did not know there may be a way to have a large group. Also, as far as dinner is concerned we are at the main seating. We are a gty. stateroom so as of now, I have no idea our table number or my cabin number.

And to Disney AK Cup - Congratulations on your graduation. I know that you must be thrilled. Also, as far as kids we are obviously not bringing ours (we are celebrating our 30th anniversary.) And just so you know, DCL is great about having plenty for adults only. Of course, I think part of the fun is watching the kids. It reminds me of how exciting it really is to be there and among the characters. I am just a huge kid myself.

I am getting really excited about the upcoming trip. I have just gotten pirate tee shirts on ebay for us to wear on Pirate night. pirate:

It is also exciting to know that we are gonna meet so many nice people onboard. It is great that this board exists. I was explaining how it works to some friends of ours. I love being able to find out things about the cruise and how other people plan, etc.

Debi

So Debi, what did you do to upset the moderators? :rotfl2: Just kidding!

You can link resies without a stateroom #, it just helps if they have as much info as possible. I linked with our Dec. tablemates for the next Dec. cruise with just their names (I didn't have their stateroom #). And table # is something you can find out if you want, but it's not standard info that DCL gives you. You'll get it at checkin.

The private room in the back of Palo is a special reservation that doesn't go through regular DCL channels. You have to contact inventory control with a written request, and specify who, when, and how many.

So our bus from AKL doesn't leave to port until 12:30, and Kat feels that since we have all our resies made we don't have to rush. I'm the type who wants to make it to port as early as possible, but I guess we'll just take the bus. So we'll probably get on board right around the party time i Bill's suite (THANKS Bill!). Come to think of it, there are worse things than boarding a ship and heading to a party right away :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Marcy, I LOVE your Palo Pic! And I'm just like you the night before -- panicking at the local Dept. store.

Debi, what search did you do on ebay for the pirate stuff? I won't something different than what I wore in Dec.

My husband surprised us all with our FIRST Disney cruise and we can't wait! DD is 6 and all she talks about is the Oceaneer Clubs, my DS who is 10 hasn't said much at all about the Oceaneer lab. I am sure we will all have a great time, now if time could just go a little faster.........February 4 seems like so far away!
We too have a DD (Carly) who is 6 and she would love to meet your DD! We also have a DS (Martin) who is 9 and will be happy to meet your DS. The children and I will be at the 2:30 PM DIS meet, so perhaps the children can get together at that time. Now if I can only talk my DW in attending as well...

These boards are so great at keeping the anticipation levels at a high for our trip. Just five weeks away now! . I was wondering if any of you are going to be going to WDW after the cruise. Jeremiah and I are going to spend two days at Universal Studios and then spend 10 days in WDW. I am so not going to want to come home after that!

Heather,

We'll be at AKL for 2 days prior to the cruise, and the BCV for 6 days after the cruise (Thank you DVC!!!) Since we'll be having dinners on the cruise together, I would love to see if we can get together afterwards too...And yeah, I am not looking forward to coming back home. Especially considering how my DH and DS will be on their own for 17 days...can you say DISASTER?????? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We will sadly be going back home to New Jersey (and back to work on Monday morning) :confused3 after the cruise but atleast I will be staying a night at the Wilderness Lodge the night before the cruise.

What time is everyone's dining?? Main or Late? We have the late seating and I am on a waiting list for the main seating. Is it possible for all of us to be grouped together at tables or is that impossible??? I see that some of you already have your table # How do you get that information??? I guess if I am on a waiting list it doesn't really matter right now because hopefully they will be able to change our seating time. I hope all of you have a great New Year and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!

Happy New Year everyone! We are in late seating. There will be 10 of us at dinner. Me , DW, DD-10, DS-9, My SIL, her DH, their DS-6, my inlaws and a 10 yr old female cousin. Although that will probably be the only time of the day that we see each other. We weren't able to secure Palo brunch reservations on line either. The idea of the group brunch sounds like fun. It would just be me and DW. Just think in a few days instead of saying that our cruise is next year, we can tell people that we sail away next month. :cool1:

Steve

Dee - I changed myself to YachtSea so that I could remember my silly user name, etc easier. I know, crazy!

As far as pirate wear, they are just plain tee shirts with pirates on them. Nothing fancy. I just figured they would at least be something so we would not be the only ones there not dressed up at least a little bit.

And Heather - That is some vacation ya'll have planned. I guess that if you're coming all that way from Alaska you might as well enjoy it as much as possible.

Anyway, what seems to be the latest on the brunch at Palo. Will it be a go? It sounds fun. We do not have anything booked at all. This cruise we are gonna pretty much do NOTHING! Every time we cruise we always say - why didn't we just hang out more? Well, this time we are. So...whatever day for brunch will probably not interfere with any of our plans. :Pinkbounc

Does anyone know what movies will be playing while we are on board? We are hoping that The Chronicles of Narnia will still be playing while we are there.

Yeah if we are going to spend the money to get out of Alaska we are going all out! :teeth:
The Brunch sounds like fun especially as we couldn't get brunch ressies. Let me know what is going on with that.

OK, to try to keep track of who is going to be meeting, I set up an email address.

Email and let me know

1: When do you plan on getting to the terminal?

2: Can you make it to a DIS meet in cabin 8532 at 2:30 ???
Here is the email address:

jblb1020,

We had the same problem last year with young children and the late seating. As soon as you board the boat, find out where they take dining reservations (last year it was the Rockin' D Bar, I think) and get wait-listed for the early seating. There are no guarantees, but as people on board make Palo reservations, spots open up for the early seating. I think that we ended up with three early seatings and four late seatings.

NEXT MONTH. 31 more days. Now it feels like it is getting here too fast. :bounce:

Steve,

You aren't kidding. The kids summer sandals still fit, but they have out-grown their dress shoes. My DD tried out her snorkel in the bath tub tonight. I just got around to purchasing travel insurance. I can't decide about excursions. I just started my diet. I think I need another month.

Looks like we have some people that may not be joining us at the DIS meet....... maybe they missed the thread???
