Are you guys up for a Fish Extender exchange? Hopefully we'll get a good group of folks who want to. So far, there are only a few cabins on here and none of them are doing it, but my family is in, and I'll organize if your family and hopefully some others that will join soon would be interested! We did it on our last Disney cruise and the kids REALLY loved it! Made it even more magical!

My wife and I had discussed doing an FE and decided that since it's our first cruise (and we have more than enough on our plate with that) we would forego it this time. But thank you very much for the invitation. Assuming there's a next time, and that's what we're assuming, I think it would be perfect.

Hooray! Well, check in later if you do book this cruise! We've got to have someone (and hopefully lots of cabins!) to do the FE exchange with!!!!! It wouldn't be a Disney cruise for us without it!

It's when a group of Dis fans get together and leave small gifts for each other outside of the stateroom. It's called a fish extender exchange as you would hang some kind of "organizer" type thing off the metal hook outside your stateroom door. That's where you would find your "gifts" and leave them for others in the group! Lots of fun!

We are hearing that you get the best deals if you book your next cruise while on board. Anyone an idea what type of deals they offer over and above what you'd see on their website? Do they offer on board credits and the like, is that it?

That's right. We actually booked THIS February trip while we were onboard the Dream in July. You get a 10% discount on the cruise AND you only have to put down 10% deposit - which is less deposit than normal.

Name is Eric. We live in San Diego and so don't have that far to drive up to the port, which is nice.

I feel like I have so much to learn, what to bring, what to wear, how and when to tip and how much, when to book Pala, which dinner sitting is best etc. etc. etc. Phew.

It's like I'm taking a college course on cruising, fun stuff though.

Wondering if anyone on the 2/26th 2012 MR sailing would like to get together or site together for meals? Would be fun, as we begin to chat and get excited together as our sailing approaches. Not even sure if we could even make sure a request to DCL (to dine together), but a game of shuffle board or a Drink O the Day in Diversions one afternoon?

Anyway, I've been doing a bunch of reading so I thought I'd ping my our sailing group so drum up a wee bit of excitment perhaps

DCL contacted my TA directly and told them. I then got a confirmation email from my TA and DCL with the discount applied. My sailing is now $1,300 less than it was 1 hour ago Happy Days.

Don't worry, you will get the discount if you booked directly with DCL. Just call them up

Its folks who booked in places like Costco who may be out of luck. As I think you get a better store credit up front but they may 'lock' you in on the rate you initially signed up for. I could be wrong on that, its just what I read on another thread a while back.

Yes, I will definitely let you know! I did call and get the Canadian discount a couple of weeks ago so we are already paying a very reasonable price but we decided we would go for sure if Kids Sail Free comes up. Wahoo!! I won't sleep tonight...

lol - too funny. I hear you though. When I heard this was going down i was like where the hell is my TA (it was 6:30pm ) and why is she not getting back to me. I was so bloody excited my heart was pounding. True to form though (my TA is amazing) at about 7pm I had a matter of fact email from her to say, oh just FYI Eric I reduced your cruise down by $1,300, have a nice evening.

Now THAT is service. If anyone wants to know who that TA is please send me a private message. I would highly recommend her, and the company she works for. I love that she is all business. I don't need her to get to know me or my kids, I need $1,300 off my cruise, and thats exactly what I got
