We had 18" a week before Christmas, but it was gone within days. One morning last week, there was snow on my lawn, but that disappeared in the hour it took me to get ready for work.

I feel your pain about the grilling!

In 29 days I will be at the Hyatt at the Orlando Airport. If any of you are staying there the night before the cruise, maybe we can arrange a "mini-meet" to reassure Jim that there are very few axe murderers in the group.

Hi Cruise Mates!
I am going thru chat withdrawal!!:surfweb: Everyone having a good week? Slight cabin fever happening...

all work and no play makes Shauna a bad girl...all work and no play make Shauna a bad girl...;)

I'll be at the Crowne Plaza the night before, but not landing until nearly 10 p.m., so I'll see everyone on board at 3 p.m. in the Prominade Lounge!

I hear ya! It has been a long week at work but we are less than 30 days till our cruise:banana: I am sick of cleaning snow and wearing a coat and gloves. Can't wait until the warm sunshine.:woohoo:

At least it's sunny today, even if it's only 22 degrees! We got about half as much snow as you, but I'd rather be seeing sand...

:hourglass

Can't wait!

The weather forecast is predicting "maybe rain, maybe snow" for the commute tomorrow morning. That means a cold, wet walk for me either way:headache:. I'm ready for some nice, warm, sunny weather.

My last cruise in May had terrible weather, as did the week after at WDW. It was those two weeks in May when it rained almost all day almost every day. Hopefully, our weather will be absolutely perfect!

Now I think I'll get a bit of work done so that my boss doesn't think that all I do all day is vacation planning!

Beth

Good Morning from sunny NH! I'm wondering if your kiddies are bringing their hand held games on the cruise? Personally, I'd love the boys to have a week w/o their DSi's, but I don't want them to be the only kids on board w/o them.

Plenty of stuff to do. They don't need them at all. Of course the adults end up with laptops! I have to access work email though so I have no choice. My kids don't bring theirs and if they did one time and I didn't know it, they certainly didn't play them much. I would say to leave them at home unless you want them for the airplane or car ride. Actually I do think my daughter has brought hers for the travel portion of the trip in a small backpack that she is responsible for. Of course last time she left it in the terminal when we returned to port. That was a stressful evening. I figured it was all gone, but lo and behold when I finally reached someone they told me it was sitting in the office next to them and would be shipped out the next day. This time I will count all luggage a little more carefully. ;)

We were at WDW over that period, and it was our daughter and SIL and their 4 children's first trip!!! I have never seen rain like it, and we seemed to have big thunderstorms every evening.

Hillary, No computers or gameboys for this gang...will have iphones, but they won't work...with the plane having a tv we figured their was no need, and like Debi, they would probably end up losing it somewhere, they take after their Mom!

My friend who was with me uses an ECV. We were trying to take the boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot late one afternoon when a torrential storm hit. There were two wheelchairs ahead of us, and they couldn't accommodate any more. They said they'd send the next boat. Well, the rains came, the thunder, the lightning, the winds...the boat didn't. The storm was bad enough that we couldn't risk taking the ECV out unprotected in the rain, so we waited under the awning on the boat dock until the storm abated enough that they could send another boat. We were there for a hour and a half. When the boat finally came back, people tried to push us out of the way. The boat's captain made everyone who pushed ahead get OFF the boat, got the two of us in and settled, and then let others board, all the while apologizing and asking if there was anything he could do for us. While it was a bit of a damp experience;), I did take some spectacular pictures!

We'll have to exchange stories when we meet. Perhaps we even met during that trip!

Our kids bring them for the plane ride/travel time but we usually put them away (in the safe) once we've gotten to our desination. Not sure I could handle the car ride to the port without them.;)

Well, I called and prepaid for our gratuties yesterday along with our spa/palo/excursion expenses. Feels good to pay for these items up front. Now, how much to plan for drinks and other incidentals. It's been so long since we've been on a cruise I really can't remember what to expect. Are drinks still around $5? We will bring our own wine but I'll of course need a few fancy nancy drinks with accessories and such.

I've also started packing. One kid down, two to go plus supervising hubby's clothing choices. ;) One suitcase per person may be tough. Thinking I may need to pick up some new flip flops for myself if its possible to find such an item in Wisconsin in January.

I read on another board that I need to bring a zip tie to secure my FE to the fish. Some people reported their FE being stolen. I didn't think I'd need to worry about that kind of thing on a Disney boat but I guess there are probably a few real pirates on board every ship.pirate:

Hey, we may very well have met then!!!!! That sounded a horrible experience waiting so long for a boat. I guess the bosses decided it was too dangerous to move the boats.

John and I had to go to the airport to pick up our incoming family. We couldn't see the end of the car, it was very frightening, and took us ages as we crawled along. As it happened their plane circled around until it was thought safe to land.

We had a pool home down south of the parks, and inevitably before we got home just about every day, the storms would start. Our dreams of long warm evenings out around the pool never materialised.

One day we met some friends who were down from Georgia. They with their granddaughter and her friend, and John and I with our 2 twin granddaughters(all 7 or 8 years old) set off to play mini golf at Winter Summerland. We got to the car park and our friends said they didn't want to play as the sky had turned dark and pink and menacing, and they said that was a sign of tornados. It sure was scary. We went back to the villa, in another storm!!!!

Fortunately the mornings were mostly wonderful, plus a couple of days towards the end, so they don't remember the holiday for the bad weather!!

We had a total of 12" of rain during that period. The Floridians were jumping for joy as they had had a long drought. We were so pleased for them - not!:lmao:

On the night of my birthday, my friend and I went to Raglan Road for dinner. We were SO wet when we got there that I went into the ladies' room, took of my clothes and squeezed the water out of everything. Of course, I had no choice but to put the soaked clothes back on again. When we finished dinner and went outside (around 11 PM) it was a beautiful, warm, dry night, except for the two of us and our dripping clothes and shoes.

It was a vacation to remember, that's for sure! Hopefully, we'll have much better weather!

Beth
