Thanks!

We are starting to pack today! Woo Hoo!!!

Do you mind telling me how much the excursion is (I presume you are doing the day sail) - we are still looking at excursions on St Thomas, but can decide which yet :confused3

thanks :goodvibes

hi Judy -

It is the half day morning sail. $80 for ages 13+ and $50 for 12 and under. We liked that it wasn't full day, we should get back around 12, and that it is closer to the port than some of the other charters. He meets us and brings us back, so one less thing to consider.

Okay, so I'm packing (overpacking???) and I just had my son try on his pirate costume for pirate night. It was soooo cute (and I was glad that I was able to take advantage of a post-Halloween sale!) When we did a 4-night Wonder cruise a couple of years ago, I had a tiny pirate costume for my then-23-month-old. It was adorable and we have the best photos from that night.
:goodvibes

Is anyone else packing costumes for pirate night? pirate:

Joy,

Is the Moshides Family (Steven, Lauretta, Dominic) Ferastu??
And do we have a name for the DH of the Souter family?

Just trying to make sure I have everyone correct.

Thanks
Karen

Ferastu is the St. Pierre's and they are not on the list... adding them now! I knew something wasn't adding up!

I received and email from Lauretta but no user name. I still need the DH's name from Stephanie.

Thanks for checking me!

Okay - somehow 2 families fell off the list. I'm updating them now and sending it back out!

Sorry about that!!!

Can anyone help me decipher the prohibited food and food storage?

Food coolers containing personal snack foods and drinks may not be brought onboard. They are only permitted if needed for medications, baby food or items related to special dietary needs.

Homemade, pre-cooked or other perishable items plus any open snack containers cannot be brought on board. Limitations on permitted food items are directly related to concerns for food safety and contamination prevention.

If I'm reading this right, then something like an unopened bag of M&M's is OK? As long as it is not in a cooler?

Yes, pre-packaged food/snacks and beverages are allowed to be brought onboard. Snacks can be either in your checked luggage or in your carry-on. Drinks must be carried on (no ice) and can either be in your carry-on bag or in a soft-sided cooler that is small enough to fit through the security scanner at the port.

It's a really weird thing.... :confused3 they SAY no coolers and there's a sign at check-in at the port that SAYS no beverages may be brought onboard... but it IS allowed. You can have soft-sided coolers - rolling or carried- but you can not have any ice in them. You'll see people checking in with all kinds of alcohol in all kinds of containers - from rolling cooler to plain brown bag from the liquor store!

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you have to lug it around until the cabins are ready -I'm sure that's why so many people have the rolling coolers. You are not "sneaking it" onboard - it is allowed, as long as you carry it on yourself. There are always lots of posts about this on the main board if you want more information.

I bring a big soft side rolling cooler I got from Sam's Club last year then take a big beach bag and wrap the handles around the cooler and fill both with beer.I just drop the cooler off by the pool or were we eat it's not that big of a deal to carry it around. The rooms are usually available by 1:00

Karen--The night before you leave, tell her she's going on a trip, but not where. At the airport, she'll find out and think it's WDW. Let her think that until Sat. morning. You'll have her guessing and getting more excited all the time.

Linda, this will be the plan! I think I'll ask her Thursday night if she thinks she can "skip" school Friday (I will have to hope she doesn't have any tests scheduled !!:scared1:) and tell her we have a chance to go on a "mystery trip". We have to leave here around 5 AM to get to the airport. She'll be really confused when my friend Jody shows up at that hour of the morning! When we get to the airport, she'll see that she's flying to Orlando, but you're right, she'll think she's going to WDW for the week. Won't she be surprised when a limo arrives at Boardwalk Saturday morning for us!

We've surprised our kids a couple of times over the years with a cruise. WDW will definitely throw her off. Don't give her any clues to the cruise. The best excitement is when you are crossing the bridge and the kids see the Magic in port. Last summer, we surprised the kids and they saw the cruise ship but they thought we were going to their great grandmother's house. They didn't believe we were going on the ship until we were actually checking in entering the port. It was awesome! Have fun with it!!!!:cool1:

With all this snow I am so ready to be on that boat!!!

I started packing, for myself. Getting these boys put together is a whole other story.

The bad weather better stay away now for our drive down!

Stephanie
