When we woke up the first thing everyone noticed was the smell of smoke. We thought the hotel was on fire. It turned out it was that big fire by I-4. It was very smokey out as well.
We had breakfast in our hotel at Goofy's breakfast in the Cape May Cafe. It's a very good breakfast for those looking for a character breakfast.
When I planned our trip months ago I knew all of the parks would start getting more crowded as President's week approached. Today was Saturday and the MK would be the most crowded, so we avoided it all day. After breakfast we rented a boat from the BC marina. It was the largest boat they had (it was plenty big for the 6 of us) and I think it was around $22 for a half hour. We had a great time driving around. We could go anywhere we wanted except to Epcot. We drove by all of hotels in the area (Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club) and all the way to MGM. Everyone loved it. I highly recommend it.
After the boat ride we went in the pool. My daughters really loved the slides. My older one went on the big ship slide and my younger daughter went on the kids slide in the kids pool. After the pool we went back to our rooms and took showers and got ready to go to MGM.
Our main reason for going back to MGM was to see Fantasmic. We had seen it a few years ago. Fantasmic started at 7:00 pm. I knew you have to get there early to get a descent seat. we grabbed a quick dinner at MGM and went to Fantasmic around 6:00 pm. The theater was about 1/2 filled already. We were on line to be seated and we noticed they were trying to fill empty seats in the section. But the next section to be filled was empty, so we waited letting people ahead of us. After the empty seats were filled in they started to seat in the new section. We got the 1st row !
The show was really great. It was much better in the 1st row. Our kids loved it too.
You do get a little mist from the show in the 1st few rows.
We drove back to the hotel and went to Beaches and Cream for ice cream sundaes.
Coming next day 8 (final day) and wrap up...MK
