FE disapointment?

ALittleMoreDisneyForUs thank you for your post! The spirit in which you participated in the fish extender is exactly what I would hope for. Wanting to make someone else’s vacation/day more magical is a great attitude.
I hope you have a wonderful cruise :goodvibes

I was going to respond to this thread, then saw that I had already responded......years ago.

I have not been very happy w/ the trend the FE exchanges have been lately w/ social media. IMHO some of the expectations have gotten a bit outrageous.

I will say that I am very happy that we have a very active group on the DIS for our next cruise (Hawaii to Vancouver, May 2020). I am looking forward to participating in the FE exchange.

We're also on that cruise! :-)

I think a lot of this actually falls on the coordinators and how they manage expectations. With more and more social media sites devoted to selling, crafting, and creating FE gifts, new cruisers are under the impression that there are rules about the minimum amount of money and giftature required. When I coordinate, I only have one rule --- you have to exchange with everyone on your list. Expect big and small, expensive and not so expensive, store bought and hand made, personalized and generic, practical and fanciful. Be happy with whatever you get and give what you're comfy giving -- it's not a contest... it is a magical addition to the cruise.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but that isn't the norm. I've participated in 4 FE's via Facebook in the past 4 years, and have never had a bad experience. Always low-key, with people giving what works for them to give, and everyone appreciative and participating. Nothing controlling, judgy, or greedy at all.

Can anyone tell me how to find the board for my cruise? Disney dream on June 3rd 2019.
At the top of the main cruise board page is "Disney Cruise Meets". Click on that link.

There, scroll down to find the thread titled "Find your 2019 Dream Cruise Meet LINK here". Click on that.

The first post there has a list of the cruises the Dream is making in 2019. Scroll down to find the "June 3, 2019" cruise.

If there's a cruise meet started for your cruise there will be a link posted underneath that title. If there's no link posted there, no one has started a cruise meet here on DISboards for your cruise.

Ooops. Pretty sure you meant 2019. ::yes::

I love FEs I love making and buying little gifts for the cruise. It extends the planning of the cruise. I love all the gifts I have ever received and my children do too. I get so caught up in giving I forget about the receiving part of it. (I forget about that on Christmas too) So when I get all those thoughtful gifts and treats. We all really appreciate them. Thank you :D
