So what exactly is the proper etiquette to hopefully get the room you want at a resort?

:worship: Begging, pleading, simply being really really nice????? :lmao:

I know I read somewhere before that people have faxed over their room requests.

Could someone help me with suggestions on how to word my request?
Also how do you find the fax number of the resort?
We are staying at POP.

TIA,

Deb

Oooohhhh only 19 days to go!!!!!

It has been reported that a lot of the room assigners are just trashing all the faxed requests. If you make a particular room type request when you book, it should be all you need. I have never faxed a request and I have always gotten a room that met my needs/wants.
Did you make requests when you booked your room? If not, you can always ask for something particular when you check in. At POP there isn't a lot of variation though.

Actually, I made my ressies through AAA and did request connecting rooms. I received my paperwork from AAA and it doesn't specify it anywhere on the receipts. Who do you think I should call to confirm its on our reservation?

Note your requests when you make your reservation. The reservation is downloaded to the resort 5 days prior to your stay. Faxing requests does no good.

I'm sitting here, looking at my POP reservation confirmation sheet. I made only a request for non-smoking and a lake view when I applied my AP code rate last week. It shows nothing on the actual paperwork. I have heard, and believe it to be true, that there is a code type thing that only the room assigners understand on there. You could call CRO and see what they have as requests on the reservation. I believe that anyone can call and do that...no matter how you booked. If you booked via an outside agent, then that agent has to make any changes. But you should be able to make a request.

I gotta disagree... twice I have faxed room requests and both times I got exactly what I politely asked for at both AKL and POR.

I'm not saying it works every time, but it apparently does work sometimes and it certainly can't hurt. If I were the OP I would definitely fax a politely worded request to the resort.

I have never faxed in my request and have almost always gotten my request. I am a multi-visitor to WDW (former CM family) and have pretty much gotten everything unless it was not possible. I find it easier to give the CM your request, and it doesn't hurt to double check while checking in. Because I make no real request except non-smoking, I've almost always been upgraded when staying at delux resorts. I find being flexible is an advantage. My best upgrade was in December, staying at the AKL standard room, I was upgraded to savanna view, 2 rooms, with connecting doors. I never even asked for connecting doors, but was happy to get them (BTW, I had a 60% discount so only paid $79 a night for savanna view rooms).
