Fax or Phone??

We are leaving friday for AKL, arriving saturday. I forgot to send a fax so far but we did list our requests with CRO. The girl who upgraded us from PO/FQ to AKL said it might be a good idea to call the resort a few days before we arrive to confirm everything. On the back of the confirmation paper it says not to use the resort phone number until after check in. What should we do? Has anyone ever called their resort to confirm and check on room requests? Is this the proper thing to do? I don't want to pester them and end up in the worse rooms possible. Help please?

Just giving this a little bump in the hopes someone can help us decide what to do.

I did call them on our last trip. We were traveling with another family and I had ended up being the one making all the plans. And I just wasn't sure that my reservation was marked with what we all needed. So I did call the resort directly the day before we left. I didn't change anything on the room request tho, just double-checked to be sure they had listed what I originally asked for. And they had!!

Thanks goofy4tink. I think I'll call them tomorrow. When you called were they cordial or did they sound annoyed?

We called AKL in December to make our room requests because their fax number was not working and they handled everything perfectly--not unhappy or annoyed at all.

They were most helpful and not annoyed in the least. But like I said, I didn't ask to change anything and I was almost apologetic about bothering them, lol!! I think they took pity on me for having to make plans for two families!!

Thanks for the great advice goofy4tink and justhat. I'm going to give them a call right now to make sure everything is confirmed and in order. We leave tonight for 10 days so I will see you all when we get back. Thanks to everyone for all the valued help with our trip.
