You know, Delswife was a dark horse..

The year after Kevin Stringer blew us all away with his trip report, there was going to be a little friendly competition. Zurg, LtHambone, Stringer, and some other guys were a little too smug in their male-dominated trip report superiority, so a couple of us girls decided to take on the "testosterone challenge" and out report them; then Delswife came out of nowhere with her damn whistle blowing kid and blew everyone out of the water. I felt that there should have been some sort of curve...some of us don't get a cast of ten people to work with...I only had the one husband and a couple of his dim-witted accomplices.

It was almost scary, the cult-like following that entailed. Poor Wobin couldn't leave her house for the throngs of devotees. Hahaha! I know I was waiting with bated breath for her installments. Good stuff. She truly does have a gift.

(I do believe that I was the first person ever to get banned from Intercot with my trip reports...they said I glorified drinking and drug use. Vettechick, don't you DARE post over there! And Delswife and her Xanax, forget it! )

Yep. I was always a double poster on both boards. Ask the same question two different places, get more responses, right! These were the trip reports from last year. I ended up editing it here on the Dis as well because someone followed me over here and started PMing me and sending email to me about what a bad person I was.

Let's just say your trip reports wouldn't make the cut over there, either!

MScott, I meant to ask you how your husband’s work situation is going. Poor guy—I felt so bad for him when reading your trip report. Having been in a bad job situation before, it really is depressing. Your reports were hilarious! I guess I must’ve missed the section on drug use, LOL!

Hehehe.. That trip report is from 2003...(I didn't even write one last year, just the two years before that.) Work got better after that. He got on a regular shift, working Monday through Friday 9:30-6pm. Not too shabby.

He's still not just ecstatic, but he's basically content. I do know that if we had ANY equity at all built up in our house, he would sell it in two minutes and move home. Problem is, we don't yet, and I LOVE my job. He grumbles and groans about working in TV period, and is really looking to do something totally different. Thanks for asking...

It's funny to look back at that trip report. That was a good trip. We had such a good time on that one and the one the year before. Last year was a nightmare with hurricanes and cruises thrown in, so I skipped writing it.

P.S. The so-called "drug use" was on day 5, I think. One of his friends nabbed some prescription drugs out of my bag, telling me he was taking Tylenol, and was basically loopy for hours. I pointed out the fact that most of us were pretty in touch with our "pharmaceutical sides" in college, so it really didn't phase me. Lord, help me. I got emails telling me I must be a horrible nurse, that they hoped I never had kids to warp, that I had no business taking care of other people since I was so irresponsible, etc. Supposedly I had too much "partying" in my trip report. I took pains to tone it down. Lord help if I had written in detail what we did every night...All I know is that we had fun, we were safe, and I honestly didn't have but one bad hangover. Must be the WDW magic!

this makes me laugh, I replied to a thread the other day about what was your worst vacation, and in it I included that after spendng a fortune to go to pleause Island on NYE we had to leave after 20 minutes. I stated that my friends were too intoxicated, good thing I didn't elaborate on what or what followed. I probably would have been banned.

Too funny! I must say that the thought did cross my mind (even though I think we’re somewhat close in age—I’m 25) about how you were managing to go out every night. By the time I’m done with the parks, I don’t have an ounce of energy left. To top that off, you even wore heels! If you had taken me with you, I know I wouldn’t have had a hangover, I would’ve been the one that fell asleep on the table 3 minutes after arriving at the club. It is odd when people pounce on you for admitting you did something wrong a long time ago. It’s not like you get in touch with your “pharmaceutical side” now and then go treat patients!

Ahh.. the advantages of working 7pm-7am shifts four nights on my feet per week! No pharmaceutical enhancement needed at all other than lots of Mt Dew, which is my drug of choice! WDW is a breeze compared to four nights in an ER. At least I'm not dodging flying poop and getting vomited on. Hey...maybe I DO need some drugs! Hahaha!

I hit my prime at 1am, seriously. Of course, try to talk to me at 10 in the morning, and I am a zombie. We slept in every morning, got to the parks at lunch, and rested from 5 or 6 in the afternoon until we went out at 11pm. So it wasn't quite the 24 hour commando fest people have pictured. If you go to bed at 4 and get up at 11, that's still seven hours of sleep!

As far as my pharmaceutical side...I never was that in touch with it anyway. I was from a small, small town. If I'd stepped too far out of line, my mom would have heard about it before I could turn around.

I've been away from DIS for many, many months, but now have my next trip planned for November and I'm lurking again. How cool it was to find my trip report mentioned in a thread naming all of the "classics." Can't wait to catch up on all the reports I've missed.
