This post is for those that have been to Disney during Christmas. What are the favorite things to do?

Candlelight Processional at Epcot
Osbourne Lights at MGM
Resort hopping to see the Christmas decorations (favorites are Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach Club)

Disney World at Christmastime is breathtaking. :wizard: I'm heading down there in 2 weeks, and can't wait to see it all again!

We enjoy going to the other hotels on property, checking out all the decorations.

Candlelight Processional is a MUST SEE!!

My DH and I loved the MVMCP last year - parade, "snow," and true cold weather were wonderfully festive.

Osbourne Lights

Gingerbread house/decor in the GF lobby.

ENJOY!!!!

I agree - the Candlelight Processional is NOT to be missed. The decorations - especially the chocolate "town" at BWV.

Very Merry Christmas Parade at MK
Candlelight Processional
Osborn Lights
General Decorations at the MK
Christmas Around the World at Epcot

We were there for Christmas several years ago and one of my favorite memories was walking down Main Street on Christmas morning. We had breakfast ressies at Tony's. We just went into the park, walked down main street and soaked in the atmosphere and feeling. Then we went to breakfast and left the park. We did not want to fight the huge crowds expected in the park, but it was a great day! Not sure if they still do it , but Tony's used to bring out fresh cinnamon rolls to your table while you waited for your food.

I agree with the above posts about Candlelight Processional. Wonderful- we had Art Garfunkel reading. We did the dinner package and had reserved seats.

Also we enjoyed the Santas in Epcot telling about Christmas in their country.

Osborne Light show
Snow falling on Main Street
Resort hopping
We're doing the Candlelight Processional on Dec 18th.

This will be our third year in a row attending the Merry Christmas parade! My Dad (76) LOVES it. My niece will be on Christmas break from college, this will be her first time seeing it.

We're also seeing the Candelight processional for the third time. We've seen Gary Sinise and Rita Moreno, this year we're seeing David Robinson. Mom and Dad like it so much they're taking friends from their retirement community AGAIN to see Brian Dennehy.

Even if you don't get to the other hotels, make sure you get to the GF. There is a gingerbread house in there large enough for a person to work in. Selling gingerbread of course. Wilderness Lodge is beautiful too.

I hear they've changed the Osborne lights, I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

We love the Candle lighters processional. This year we are seeing Cuba Gooding, Jr. MVMCP is also a must. The Osborne Lights and all the Resorts. I just love this time of year. This will be our first year to be there ON Christmas eve and Christmas day. Wanted to do something extra special on Christmas eve. Made ressies for The California Grill. Looking forward to that. BUT..... keep your favorites coming, to see if there are any 'secrets' we have missed.

My favorite thing to see for this Dec. trip is Jellyrolls :rotfl2:
They decorate and everything :thumbsup2

CP, MVMCP, MGM, ok they're good ideas too :goodvibes

Sipping hot chocolate and eating sugar cookies while watching everyone dance in Fantasyland during the MVMCP, catching the shows, parade at MK with snow! GF was breathtaking!!! Osbourne was surreal. Epcot's lights and accompanying music on the walk from Future World to International was unreal. If you are a Christmas music lover, the Candellight Processional was wonderful! Mickey ears peaking out of Santa hats everywhere! Magical stuff at its best! :wizard:

Osborne Lights at MGM are a must!!
We're seeing the CP for the first time this December and can't wait!
We're also taking the Yultide Tour this year to see the resort and park decorations.
There's always something new to do at WDW during the holidays! :santa:

Enjoy! pixiedust:

Can you provide more details on the Yultide Tour?

I've never heard of The Yuletide Tour. Sound interesting

The Yultide Tour is actually called the Yultide Fantasy Tour and I have listed below the description from Allearsnet.com.

Almost magically, Walt Disney World Resort transforms into a holiday headquarters complete with millions of sparking lights, larger-than-life Christmas trees and miles of garland. Guests take a behind the scenes peek at that magical transformation in Disney's Yuletide Fantasy, a three-hour journey into the holiday history of Walt Disney World Resort.

Guests take guided tours to theme parks and resort hotels, learning stories about the themes of the Yuletide decorations and how Disney elves transform the parks and hotels into an annual winter wonderland. Disney's Yuletide Fantasy is open to ages 16 and older (guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult), and theme park admission is not required.

The program is $69 per person, NO theme park admission required.

This will be the first time we have done this tour but I have heard some really wonderful things about it. We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour last Christmas Eve and just love to see how Disney "works".

Enjoy! pixiedust:

That sounds like a pretty cool tour. We have 1 free day when we're in WDW in December.

Do you get the most out of the resorts durning the day or at night. We are going for a long weekend in Dec and every night is plannned at a park. I was going to take my wife to the resorts durning the afternoon but it sounds like it would be more festive at night to see the resorts??? :confused3
