I am not a Bob Seger fan nor am I someone who really cares about music very much... but about 3 years ago when my life was shot to hell by the evil and/or casual indifference of others and I realized that I was more or less alone, I was struggling to find a way to verbalize/understand my experience. And I happened to hear this song on the radio and those two lines just leapt out at me like the volume had been turned way up and I realized that those lines described how I felt.

I would say my all-time favorite song lyrics are Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles and/or Hotel California by the Eagles, bec I love the verbal pictures they paint.
