Favorite server on the Magic???

On our Dec '03 cruise we had Mladen from Croatia and Pan from Thailand (maybe it was Phillipines). They were great and really enhanced the "magic" of our first cruise.

Second cruise (Dec '04) we had Louis from India and Julio from Mexico. They were OK. Louis was very chatty like others mentioned, and Julio seemed to be upset and really didn't want to be there. We found out Mladen and Pan were on the ship, but in different restaraunts.

Third cruise (Dec '05) we had (forget his name, not Louis) from India, and Dani (or Daniella) from Argentina. THe Server was OK, good with food suggestions, but Dani was awesome. THe gave excellent food wine pairings, dessert suggestions, and shared great storied about Argentina with us.

On our first disney cruise in feburary of 2000 we had an amazing server, Boris. I cannot remember where he is from but we saw him again on our 2002 cruise. Has anyone seen him recently??

I love this thread! We are headed on the April29th Magic and are hoping that Colin and Inyo are still on the ship? They are in the picture below, Inyo is from Bali and COlin is from Trinidad....they were both AWESOME with the kids!

PJ

Inyo was our server in May. So I know he's still with Disney. We were talking about when he has time off but can't remember his schedule to figure out if he'll be on board for your cruise. I don't know Colin so they weren't paired up, might not be able to have both.

Almost all CM's have a 6 month contract. That means they work for 6 months on the ship, and then get 2 months off, and they can renew for another 6 months.

I know Dani, from Argentina said she was working 1 contract and then leaving to go home and get married and start her own dance business/school. So, someof them may be off on your next cruise or not there at all anymore....but most of them probably will be there.

not sure if lisa is returning, i think i recall her saying she had been with DCL for about 2 years and each time she says shes not returning she end up going back!so who knows? i guess it must be so hard to leave disney after working there for so long.

i also recgonise inyo from bali in the photo above, is he still there?

We just did the Christmas Cruise and had Emmanuel for brunch and high tea. He is an excellent server, and I believe that his vacation isn't for several months. We briefly talked about it when he mentioned that he's spoken with his entire family on Christmas Day.

Marco, however, is my favorite server on the Magic. Maybe its because he brings practically everything on the menu to sample, or it could just be due to his charming smile and accent. :flower3: Any way you look at it, he is a first rate server. We have had him for dinner on both of our cruises, and for brunch on our first cruise. He never disappoints.

Emmanual was our server on our first Eastern cruise. On our second Eastern, we saw him at Palo and he took a lot of time to talk to us, even though he was not our server that day. We then saw him in AP, and got a pic with him. The other CMs call him "Big Papa."

JULIO from Chile and SANDOR from Hungary. Both severs and entertainers.

More thumbs up votes for Toto, Anne Marie at Palo from S. Africa, Adrien form England and Head Server John from Scotland. We've had some of these guys over and over and would request them all in a heartbeat. And I keep seeing their names in other people's posts too. So I guess that means that it wasn't just a fluke that we thought they were so good! It is good to see them recognizd here, but remember, a letter to DCL does a LOT for them. So send those compliments on to the management. It really helps them out. :earsboy:

sailorminnie.....where can you send compliments to the management?

We had Nicoleta from Romania and Joyce from St. Vincent's! They were fabulous - so much so we've asked for them on our 2006 May cruise~

You lucky dog!! We were just on the 1/7 Eastern and had Joyce as our server. She was AWESOME with a capital A!!! Our next cruise is May 27th....the day she leaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAA!!! You'll have her on her last cruise. Try to convince her to stay...tell her KT and "Patrick" want her to stay! :)

On the 1/7 she was paired with Denis from Romania. In 7 cruises they were the best serving team we've ever had!

btw, Denis leaves mid-April, so we won't get EITHER of them! :(

Don't mean to hijack the thread but Ohiominnie was your dd with the 10-12s last week. My daughters met a KT and we all thought her name was so cool.

Keeping on topic On our first cruise in 200 we had Chevron and Piro and they were fabulous. Another cruise we had Gemma who was also the greatest with the kids and very attentive but Ivan was her assistant and just learning. Well when we went back Ivan was our head server and was great. I ran into him in Topsiders and this cruise and he remembered my whole family.
Our servers this cruise were OK.I won't mention their names because I know DCL reads this. THis was the first cruise we have ever gotten the EXCELLENT SPEECH and it was quite annoying.I tried to head him off and let him know that as long as he was doing his best than it was excellent to me but he continued on for a good 5 minutes about Disney's perception of excellence.

YES! That was her! Who were your dd's?
I had read on the meet thread, briefly, that there was a 10-12 who liked "horses and Harry Potter" but did not know who it was....KT kept asking me all week "who like's horses and HP?" ;)

Btw, her given name is NOT KT. Her name is Katie, but her grandpa spells it "KT" in emails because he doesn't have to type as many letters. DD jumped all over that shortcut and has been using it ever since. ;) I will admit, it is unique!

Brennon south africa, he just left to go back home on jan.7th & Rachel from singapore she has 3 1/2 months to go before she goes back home. I couldnt tell you our head waitress we saw her twice, the first night and the second night after that she never came by again not even to say hello. I was not happy giving her a tip since we really didnt see her at all.

Tink:

We have sent letters to both of these addresses and have received replies from each. So the information gets to where it needs to some way or another.

It is helpful of you have their full name, but first name and country can be enough if you specify their work area. We have been told that they really do pay attention to these kinds of letters. We try to write more letters of praise than we ever do of complaint. And they do seem very responsive.

I still think it is cool LOL My daughters were Kyra and Kayla. We never really joined in on the thread because we booked so late.

HA! Yes, KT has mentioned "Kyra and Kayla" to me several times! :) Small world!!

Alekandra from Netherlands
Eddie from Peru
Panja (cant recall where he is from)

Darwin from India was our room Host and he was fabulous!

My niece was sooo happy with all of them!!!

BTW, any idea how to get in touch with any of the crew members to send thank yous or post cards from the little ones??? I know DCL reads this but I want to make sure the staff personally hear how appeciated they are!

I also wanted to reach Eddie to say hello.

Ideas/thoughts/feedback apprciated

When we sent a complimentary letter to last year about Don and Tommie the duo in the promenade lounge, they did show them the letter and they got a free dinner at palos with the captain because of the letter. So please do write about these wonderful people, they will get to see what you write, a copy of every letter goes in their personel file. These really help with them getting to renew their contract and raises too. I have relatives who work at WDW and they know CM's from the cruise line. They do hear of all the good and bad everyone writes as long as you know their name and you should include when you cruised. It is very much appreciated by the crew.
