Favorite restaurants that no longer exist?

I second Roy Rogers. My husband misses their roast beef sandwiches, I miss the fixins bar. LOL
They still have them at the NJ turnpike rest areas, but it's not the same.

I miss a local restaurant in Bergenfield, NJ called Libs. Nothing fancy, but good food.

For anyone who knows Paramus Park(mall) when I was little, there used to be a restaurant upstairs on the food court level that was like an old fashioned ice cream parlor.
It was always such a treat to eat there instead of just pizza from the food court. I forget the name, I am pretty sure it was a chain.
I have to google..

Farrels! I loved that place! i would love to see it brought back.

Thanks for the link I loved Farrels too!! I just couldn't remember the name.

THe food at Casa Bonita is terrible!!!!! The restaurant itself is pretty cool, but you can't get in unless you buy dinner. My husband has lived here his whole life and said the food has always been bad.

bad is an understatement......HORRID would be the word. Though I do have to say the sopapillas are okay. It is too bad you have to order food to get in but it is good on my tummy at least. :rotfl:

Shoney's is alive and well here. As is Pizzeria Uno.

I miss Burger Chef. That was where we got our first kid's meals when I was little.

I loved York Steak House!! I went to the one at the Meadow Glen Mall. (No meadow or glen that I know of). I was just talking about it the other day. I still like cafeteria style places. I don't remember what I ate. I was about three or four, I liked the Strawberry Shortcake little toys I got there. And the get your own soda fountains.

Howard Johnsons is another I miss a lot. My friends and I would go there for dessert.

Chi-Chi's (miss the seafood Nachos)

Rax(Iused to work at one in college)

GD Ritzys(loved the burgers, fries and ice cream)

Po'Folks (forgot all about this place)

Mr. Hero (are they even in Ohio anymore? haven't seen one for a while)

Minnie Pearls Fried Chicken. They served it with little packs of honey. OK, it was about 40 years ago...

Mr. Heroes is still in Cleveland. They have the best Romanburgers!

Oh I remember Po' Folks, Rax, Roy Rogers, Kenny Rogers Roosters, TCBY, Godfather Pizza (which I recently saw one in Fla) and lots of these!

We have TONS of Jack in the Box's here in HI.

Ahh Farrells...used to go there in High School after activities and a bunch of us would order the Pig Trough.

Howard Johnson's Worked there through college.....Wed was "All you could eat Clam Night for $1.99 and Friday was "All you could eat Fish Night" for $1.99. HUGE Sundaes were .99.

Clock was big here in the SE MI area...worked in college at one of those, too.

Ate at Casa Bonita's in Denver...food was unremarkable, but the decor was "interesting along with the cliff divers!

Carlos Murphy's: Mexican/Irish place....interesting mix.

Magic Pan...I had to buy a crepe maker! I still remember the radio ad and jingle. "It's the Chef's at the Magic Pan!"
