Do you have a favorite place to have lunch at a Disney Resort? I'm looking for suggestions that I might not have thought of. It can be CS or TS but please no buffets.
Thanks for your suggestions!!

Hi Heidi!

This is an interesting question, because I rarely lunch at the resorts. However, I do have some favorites, and one is Pop Century. That food court has everything. I mean, everything. Quite a variety, you're sure to find something for everyone, and if I could squeeze it in on this trip, I would go there just to eat. :lmao:

I have also booked the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch on my trip because I read a trip report where the sandwiches looked absolutely amazing. It just looked like a really good lunch.

So there's one counter service and one table service for you. Other than that, some of my favorite places to eat at the resorts are either 1. buffets, which you prefer not to do, or 2. signature dining, and I'm not sure how you'd feel about those?

I'm trying to think of other places, but anything else I could recommend would be more based on what I've heard, not what I've experienced. HTH! :goodvibes

We really like Yakatori House in Japan (WS) for lunch. It is CS and you can take your lunch outside and sit near the water garden. It is well shaded and on the tranquil side. We like to go either early (11:30) or later (1:30) and recharge our batteries. Kona Cafe at the Poly (TS) has a really good lunch. It also affords the chance to explore the Poly when there aren't a million people there for Ohana. We also like Peco's Bills (CS) at MK and Sci Fi (TS) at DHS for lunch.

Happy Eating!

If you are over in MK area its so easy to hop on the monorail and eat at one of the hotels. I've done this at both Kona Cafe (Poly) and Grand Floridian Cafe. I've also taken the boat to WL and eaten at Whispering Canyon. You'll find that the resorts aren't typically crowded at lunch - I've never made an ADR and have always gotten in without a problem (even during peak meal time). You'll get a nice relaxed meal without the crowds of MK at lunch. Food will be better (but more expensive) too.

In the resorts, we love GF Cafe and Kona for lunch. Captain's Grille at the YC is a nice quiet option in that area although we haven't had lunch there in a few years (different name then). Olivia's at OKW has many fans. If you will have a car, the Sand Trap at the golf course is a very quiet restaurant with great sandwiches and salads with a lovely view of the course.

I love Kona Cafe for lunch they have this delicious terriyaki steak salad that is so fantastic. I've eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch as well and it was very yummy!

We just discovered Captain's Grille (at YC) on our last trip. We really enjoyed it. A nice change of pace. We had lunch there on an EPCOT day. We took the boat over but it would be faster to walk.

I agree with Kona and Captains Table as well.

But, we also like B&C at the BC and even Big River Grill is a good one (at BW). We like those 2 because they pretty much keep serving through the afternoon instead of closing between lunch and dinner. So if you end up doing a late lunch (after 2) you can still eat there because most of the resorts stop serving lunch around 2 and then open for dinner around the 5:30 hr.

For CS, I agree with PP who said Pepper Market. I think this is one of the best CS resturants in all the land.

For some reason I always like Captain Cooks at the Poly too. Now with the self serve screen it's a bonus. They have inside seating at this one and a few tables outside too.

Port Orleans Riverside Food Court has great options. We really enjoy it. I'm staying there in November with my friend for Soap Weekend, and we enjoy coming back from the parks and grabbing a salad from the food court. Huge and worth the $.
