Hi!

DH and i usually do the DP and breakfast is not usually one of the meals we choose for TS- however, i would like to use maybe one TS for a nice relaxing GOOD breakfast. we have been to the Concourse Steakhouse several times and have enjoyed it, but i was thinking about maybe doing Boma this time, but have never been.

a few things- we dont have kids and do not want to eat with kids- well they CAN BE in the same restaurant :rotfl2: ( just no character breakfasts, nothing cute) just relaxing, great breakfast items and very important- a great cup of coffee!

Any suggestions??

Thanks everyone!

I think Boma would be a good choice, especially since it's one of the more expensive breakfasts availabe, if you're interested in maximizing your dining credits. Kona Cafe is another wonderful breakfast spot, and serves Kona blend coffee, as well as a Kona press pot.

Second the Boma or Kona choices-- both places you can get excellent coffee; just make sure at Boma you get the Kenyan coffee and not the stuff included in the buffet price.

Kona is a bit more relaxing as you don't have to get up to fill (and refill, and refill if you're me) your plate; Boma is great for variety and lots of food.

We also enjoy GF Cafe for "relaxing" Breakfast. I have alos found that when it comes to "relaxing' Breakfasts timing is everything 10 to 10:30 is the beast time because most people are in the parks. We also enjoyed our Room Service Breakfast at the Poly ;)

i was wondering about the GF- is this a buffet???

10 to 10:30 is probably good also because that is about the time breakfast usually ends- as you said everyone has already had breakfast and is on their way to the parks- or been there for a few hours!

as far as room service at the Poly- we are going to be at POR- but maybe we can swing on by the Poly and knock on someones door and ask if we can join them for breakfast! :lmao:

thanks for the tips! :sunny:

No it is a regular order from the menu restuarant. You'll love it there!

I like Kona Cafe. But this last trip I tried "Fresh" at the Dophin. So I second that suggestion. I only tried it b/c it had a 20% DVC discount. I don't like buffets. They have some menu items but they are same/more than the buffet. I was really impressed. Great food. And very relaxing. Enjoy.

This isn't on the dining plan, but IMHO..the best relaxing breakfast is ordering room service and enjoying my food (and company) at a leisurely pace in my PJs and maybe reading the paper too.

Other than that maybe the Grand Floridan Cafe would be a good choice (it's on the dining plan) or the Yacht Club or Spoodles, I hear has a great breakfast as well.

Boma is a bit loud and it's a buffet. But the food is amazing and fresh. And the pressed pot coffee is delicious. It's my favorite breakfast. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_boma.htm

A more relaxing breakfast with extremely high quality is Fresh buffet at the Dolphin Hotel. Good coffee too.

Maybe we were there on an off day...but we found Fresh to be FAR more frantic than either of our character meals (CP lunch and 1900 PF breakfast). The food was good, but the sound really carried and the restaurant was laid out so badly, plus the waitstaff was MIA and the chefs were less than interested in helping (bad since it's supposed to be interactive and, well, "fresh")
Just another perspective :teeth:

Any restaurant that's not hosting a character breakfast.

One of my favorites use to be Tony's at the MK. Loved sitting outside watching the crowds enter the park. Wish this restaurant would bring back breakfast.

What about Boatwright's?? A fine breakfast (TS) spot and you're at POR anyway...

I would pick Boatwright's at POR. We have had breakfast here many times and the food is always very good. On our last visit my wife had the sweet potato pancakes and I had one of there fantastic omelets. They were both very good. :)

As a gotta have my COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE person in the moring. I would agree w/ Boma. I never really found it loud. It is a nice relaxing breakfast. You can pick your own pace seeing it's buffet. And as for a good cup of JOE well you can't get much better!!! LOVE it. Dh and I found ourselves heading down almost every morning for breakfast. 9 x's out of a 16 day trip (is that too much?....NAaaa)

I agree with the above posters about Boatwright's. We went about 9:30. It was quiet, and not crowded at all. It was very relaxing. Since we were staying at POFQ we walked there and took the boat back. It was a very nice start to a relaxing day. The food was wonderful. My husband still talks about his omelet there (a month later). :thumbsup2

I vote for the Grand Floridian Cafe!

It's such a pretty, sunny restaurant, and it's a full-service, sit-down restaurant so you're not up & down serving yourself from a buffet.

Check out the menu & pics on allears.net!

Grand Floridian Cafe is lovely for breakfast, the decor is colorful and bright and service is good, food is good.

I also like Spoodles for breakfast, make sure you check their menu to see if you like the choices... good coffee there too..

I like the Galley at the Yacht Club for breakfast too....it is a buffet and not terribly noisey...good choices and they keep it coming.

Another vote for the Grand Floridian Cafe...VERY laid back and relaxing and I don't know what they do with their omelets, but they are fantastic...very tasty and light. Service was also very good.

Spoodles on the Boardwalk is a nice place for a quiet breakfast. It has never been crowded the numerous times we have been there. The boardwalk area is so nice and peaceful in the morning. The food and coffee at Spoodles are very good.
