We have early (around 4 pm) dinner reservations at Garden Grill, so I'm thinking a light lunch around 11 am will work best. Since our dinner isn't "international", I'd like our lunch to be.

What are some of your favorite places for a light meal in the World showcase?

To note:
No one in our family eats fish or seafood.

We all love Norway. It has delicious sandwiches and school bread. Yum. Our second choice would be Morocco. Lentil salad, couscous, and baklava.

I was going to say fish and chips at UK until I read your no fish comment. My sister really liked the orange chicken in China.

My Dad and I always make it a point to stop at the Rose and Crown in England. The big selling point for us is the fish and chips, but they do have non-seafood options.

The cafe outside of the Mexico pavilion is also a great choice. A good assortment of options.

The American pavilion has options to please everybody, but may not meet the "international" part of the meal.

I love Tangierine Cafe because of the vegetarian options, but meat-eating DH likes it there too. The portions are pretty big, so depending on your definition of "light meal" you could consider splitting orders.

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco -- schwarma platters, vegetarian options.
Kringla in Norway -- skoolbread, sandwiches, pastries.

Can't believe I forgot Akershus in Norway. After all my trips to Disney, I never went there until my last trip, and it was excellent. Really good sandwiches and pastries.

Our recent favorites for CS in Epcot were-France (cheese plate), Morocco (chicken and lamb shawarma platter), Japan (California roll) or Mexico(nachos).

I just love the Norwegian Bakery. Since I first tried it in 2003, I've eaten there on every trip since.

thanks! I think I'm leaning towards the Norway restaurant.

Tangerine cafe sounds delicious, but we are able to get a lot of middle eastern food around my home, but I don't know of any Norwegian restaurants!

Boulangerie Patisserie in France-- baked ham and cheese croissant with the chocolate cake of the day and a large Coke

That is my go-to meal for every day we are at EPCOT. Mmmm...

My picks are Sommerfest for the brats or La Cantina de San Angel for the proximity to the margaritas! ;)

Just so no one is confused, Akershus is the table service restaurant, Kringla Bakeri og Cafe is the counter service in Norway. Their sandwiches always look so good, and I think for your meal you can get a sandwich/soup combo plus dessert. We used to love the school bread, but last time it was dried out and icky.

Katsura Grill in Japan! It has plenty of options for non-fish eaters...delicious Japanese-style curry rice, chicken katsu, teriyaki, noodle bowls, okonomiyaki...it's got a great assortment of Japanese 'comfort foods' that offer that international flair without being that adventurous! :thumbsup2

Tangierine Cafe, hands down, no question.
We enjoy other places in the WS for CS but none come close to TC for us. Of course you have to like that type of food in the first place, which some do not.

I cannot go to Epcot without stopping at Boulangerie Patisserie in France for their Ham & Cheese Quiche :thumbsup2

Anything from Tangierine Cafe in Morocco...that place is excellent

I loved the beef tacos at Cantina in Mexico! Wasnt the typical ground beef, it was more like real steak sliced thin and chopped up..

The churros I didnt THINK would be a big deal but OMG were they good, especially with the carmel milk they come with..

We always get a pastry in Norway or France or both.. so yummy and now a new fave for snack is the carmel place in germany..

Totally second this - soooo cheap for the ham & swiss on a croissant, and we ask for it warmed...however, my favourite dessert is the lemon tart, it's huge! Now I'm drooling!!:goodvibes

We haul our French food all the way over to America because DS won't eat at France. :sad2:
