We are renting a car and will probably want to eat a couple of meals outside of the parks. Any favorites?? Best dishes???

Since I like to get things I can't get at home my favorite meal is pretty simple: fish and chips in Downtown Disney. There is another place closer to Universal (on International Drive) called the Cricketers Arms that serves up British food but I didn't think their fish and chips were as good. You can get gift certificates for that restaurant on restaurant.com so it's pretty inexpensive to find out for yourself.

Bahama Breeze!! There's one on International Drive and one near Lake Buena Vista...excellent food, lots of choices, obvious carribean flavors (a bit on the spicy side but not too bad)...tons of mixed drink choices and an amazing atmosphere.

I enjoy the atmosphere and food of the Orlando Ale House. It has a side benefit of being extremely close to the parks as well. I don't normally eat desserts at restaurants, but they had some sort of a concoction that included Nutter Butters that was out of this world.

I was going to suggest this one too. I'll just add that the Key Lime Pie is awfully good too.

We like the Outback Steakhouse near Formosa Gardens in Kissimmee.

Nice friendly atmosphere and you can take out , if like us staying in a nearby villa.

Bubbalou's BBQ which is right up the street from Universal.

Giordano's deep dish Chicago pizza, which may or may not be a good thing if you are from New York. We love both kinds of pizza.

We have to make a trip to Mall at Millennia each Universal trip to go to P.F. Chang's. It's my family's favourite restaurant and being Canadian we can't get it at home!

Well I am a Golden Corral Fan...Ruby Tuesday is a favorite as well. There is a nice place across from Mall of Millenia near the Robb and Stucky's(the name slips my mind at this time) that is like an upscale Ale House. I also am a fan of MiMi's Cafe.

When in the mood for a carnivore dinner, Logan's Roadhouse, Lonestar, and Charlies's.

We like to eat offsite since, being from the UK, there are loads of great places we don't have here. Some of our favourites are: Friendlys, Longhorn Steakhouse, Tony Roma's and Outback. We have also heard good things about Bob Evans and Manny's so will be heading there in August to check them out :)

Thanks everyone. I think deep dish is fine not what we're used to but the kids would probably still like it. I'm making a list of all the suggestions so I'm prepared.

Just stay away from that Chilis' on International. Getting sick there, twice in a row leads me to believe this place is a no fly zone...

The Sizziler has a great breakfast buffet thats real cheap. Good way to save money for a nice dinner. :thumbsup2

A lot of the local hotels have a coupon brochure that lists pretty much every resturant in the area. And it can save ya a few dimes :cool2:

Easily the best restaurant I've been to in two years. Pretty pricey but worth every penny maybe not too kid friendly but it was great. Close to universal. I loved it.
