I have never been real impressed with MK's TS options in the past so we usually just do QS for lunch and dinner or eat at our resort. I want to try a TS this time though! What's your favorite? We're 40ish days out so CRT and BOG aren't an option. I've got an ADR for the Plaza but I'm reconsidering.

Family of 5. DH is a steak/burger/fish person, I'm a vegetarian or chicken person. Three daughters under 10 -- the oldest is more like her dad in food but the youngest two are solid mac & cheese or chicken nuggets girls.

We love Jungle Skipper Canteen! And you can usually get a reservation even when you are close to your trip. if your group likes a bit of an Asian flair to food, I think your steak, fish, veggie and and chicken people can all find something. Other options would be Liberty Tree Tavern or The Plaza.

I like Liberty Tree for lunch but not dinner. I’m just not a big roasted meat sort of person and I can’t stomach the thought of turkey. Not sure which meal you had in mind for TS. Funny, I haven’t really done TS at MK either, now that I think about the options!

We usually do Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch also. I’ve been seeing some good reviews for Tony’s which has me thinking about trying it again during our next visit

We are Crystal Palace fans. Standard American fare. Should be something for everyone according to your PP. Pooh and friends character buffet. Charming atmosphere, right on main street.

I agree with the other posters, Liberty tree tavern is my favorite place to eat there for lunch. I do like the Plaza as well but I see that the Club sandwich has disappeared from the menu. That was a great meal. What I usually do is do CS or end up eating at Trails End at Fort Wilderness. For my two cents, it is wonderful food and the staff is kick butt 5 plus stars. FYI, BOG is very overrated, it used to be good now a days, no thanks. If you want a good steak go to Shula's or YS.

Another vote for LTT at lunchtime. We really liked the food. When we go during the summer we have lunch around 2:00pm. It's nice to be in out of the heat and rain (sometimes). We ate at The Plaza in July and no one in our family of 5 liked it. The food and service was poor. Also, as a strange side note, if one of your daughters has to go to the bathroom there, you will have to leave the restaurant, go to your right and use those bathrooms. I was shocked. No bathroom in the restaurant? Crazy

You are certainly onto something that MK table service certainly isn't as good as the other parks. We generally just do a TS lunch in the park and do dinner elsewhere, but based upon what you said Liberty Tree Tavern may be a good choice. We don't do the family style meal, but really enjoy their fish and chips, burgers, and salad.

Another favorite is Skippers Canteen. We tend to prefer their appetizers more than entrees, but its fun to share a bunch of different items.

I'd also suggest looking at the Plaza. Its certainly not anything fancy, but has great sandwich options that aren't too much more expensive than counter service is a much better atmosphere.

I was actually looking at LTT for lunch. Buffet doesn't appeal to me but the lunch menu looked OK. DH and I were there way back for our honeymoon when they had a character meal there.

Skippers Canteen looks good to me (I love tofu and one of their dishes looks awesome) but I don't think the kids would enjoy it and we're already doing Sanaa where they're not going to be thrilled.

That, or we can leave early and do a late dinner at Boardwalk but my 9yo has turned into a trip planner and is dead set on doing rides while everyone else is watching HEA or whatever it's called now (our 2nd MK day we'll do HEA)

Tony's! Had the best shrimp dish and Moscato wine a few weeks ago! Can't wait to go back! Our server was amazing too!

Skipper canteen sounds like it would have options for your whole group, and we really liked it.

If you really want CRT or BOG I wouldn’t write either off as impossible, just set up a resveration finder (touring plans or another site that can’t be named here both have them, I use both as sometimes one finds an opening and the other doesn’t, but TP finds more for me). I haven’t tried for CRT but we’ve gotten everything we wanted on pretty short notice using these. People will be cancelling up until the day before, so someone has a chance at those spots! There are also cancellation threads here for coordinating that—I know I’ll be dropping a few March reservations once we get our FPs lined up next week, so I will try to post there when I do that in case anyone wants them.

TS food we tend to do LTT or Plaza (I particularly like the Plaza if it's really hot/humid and we don't want something too heavy, they have some nice options for that). We also have done BOG and CRT -but the food wasn't my favorite, we did it more because my daughter wanted to eat in the castles.

LLT lunch or Skippers Canteen! We found Skippers Canteen fun and loved the theming. We didn't order from the kids' menu and I don't remember the offerings.

Skipper Canteen and Liberty tree Tavern are our two favorites at Magic Kingdom. We tried BOG a couple of times, but we just weren't very impressed with it all. We haven't eaten at BOG since the changes were made and it was made into a 2 credit dining table service.

We don't love any TS places at the MK but we always do them anyway. For us the worst overall experience is BOG, to us it feels like a cafeteria and the food isn't great. And we thought dinner at LTT is like terrible TV dinner quality food. I've heard lunch is better though.

The food at Skipper Canteen was VERY good, however there isn't anything that my kid will eat there so we haven't been when our 5 year old is with us. But I see they now have "crispy chicken" so I think I would try it next time! But this is a great choice! We have always also enjoyed Tony's as well. It used to get horrible reviews but on our trip last year, the food was fantastic. REALLY REALLY good. Crystal Palace is good for a buffet but we aren't into buffets.
