I am hoping for some recommendations on kid friendly dining suggestions for young kids. We have been to Disney many times, but usually stick to a couple of character meals at the most. This time we are doing the dining plan, so we will be booking a few more ADR's than we usually do. My daughter is 5 and we have never had any problems with her using her manners and behaving well in restaurants. However, my son who will be 2 in February is definitely the complete opposite. We go out to dinner weekly, but he gets very restless quickly and we usually end up having to leave the table with him. He hates sitting in a high chair, etc...

Now I know that pretty much all Disney restaurants are kid friendly, but which ones are going to entertain my young son the most and give us the best dining experience? We have no problems sticking with character meals if that is going to be give us the most pleasant experience. I just tell myself that one day hubby and I will be able to enjoy adult meals again:) . What are your favs? Thanks for your suggestions / tips.

Definately all the character meals are great for kids. My family favorite when my kids were small and still is even though my boys are older now is Chef Mic's. Also the kids will have fun in 50'S Prime Time, WCC. Coral Reef has a huge fish tank that's really cool.

The character meals are probably your best bet. Aside from character meals, my girls enjoyed Coral Reef because of the fish tank. 50's Prime Time and Whispering Canyon are supposed to be fun with antics (but I've never been so can't give my opinion).

Ohana is a great choice for dinner - they have activities for the kids throughout including dancing, coconut races, etc., plus they have really good food! We went there a few months ago with my 2, 4, & 5 year olds & they all had a blast! They will even let the kids order off a special kid's menu (even for the 2 yr old) if you think they will not like the food that is served there.

We just took our 2 nieces, age 6 and 12.5, to CP for breakfast and that was a huge hit for food and fun. None of us enjoyed the food at 1900 PF but we did like the characters. Dinner at Coral Reef was great for the atmosphere but the kids didnt like the food. The Princess Breakfast in Norway was a huge hit for food and fun as well....girls and boys were there and having a blast.

I have learned that if we take the kids again it will be TS breakfasts only and CS for lunch and dinner...they are just too picky and too tired to sit through the dinner meal.

I would say Sci-Fi would be great. My kids love that one, especially the milkshakes. Also Whispering Canyon is good, activities, etc. For a nicer meal, I would do Chefs de France. This was our favorite and its loud in there so not a problem. I don't know about Ohana...we've done this every year, and the first 2 times, my DD was 20 mos then 2.5 years and was not happy there. We also go out to eat weekly but it is a very long meal. This year, we had terrible service and were stuck there almost 2 hrs.

Sci Fi would be one of my first choices. It's very entertaining, the movies are on, the car you're sitting in would probably be a hit with a 2 year old boy, and the food is good and they're quick with the service there!!

Coral Reef, if you get a seat by the tank, would also be a good choice! Lots to look at!
