Whats your favorite deluxe resort and is why?

Thinking about booking Poly but can't see how the price is worth it.

Whats your favorite deluxe resort and is why?

Thinking about booking Poly but can't see how the price is worth it.

Ours is the Poly, but not while all the construction is taking place. We also like the Contemporary and the Yacht Club.

The GF. My very first hotel stay was the Hotel Del Coronado over 30 years ago. I remember being so impressed by the beauty, grace and luxury of a true, grand, hotel. My first stay at Disney was CSR and it was nice, brand new, and we enjoyed it. I really never paid much attention to the GF, and over the years stayed at several other Disney World hotels. Then, in January 2012 I stayed at POR with my nieces and taking the ferry boat from the TTC, my youngest niece pointed and said "wow, that hotel looks so pretty in the morning sun."

Since I had planned on heading to F&W in October 2012, I decided to check out the GF and, fortunately, found out that they had some great deals. So I booked the hotel. Needless to say, from the first ride up to the guard house to being greeted as we exited our car service, I realized, the GF is "home" for me. I've stayed at many other Disney properties since then, however, I do try to either stay at the GF or at least dine, at a TS restaurant there (Narcossees is my favorite) ever trip there. From the main lobby through the fine shops, there are many more CMs per guest, the 45 second monorail ride to MK, the ferryboat back and forth, feeling Wishes while in bed, having a full gym, all are many of the reasons why I love the GF. The massive lobby opening up so many stories, the big band in the afternoon....I could go on and on.

We have loved every resort we've stayed at, but the Poly is our favorite followed by the GF. Both have beautiful surroundings, large rooms, and great dining options. Also, we love staying in the MK area and love that both resorts are convenient to MK and Epcot. The GF is just one monorail stop away from MK and a quick monorail ride to the TTC to change to the Epcot monorail, while the Poly is just 2 stops away from MK and just a 5-7 minute walk from the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

I have only stayed at the Poly and WL but WL is really a favorite of mine. I love that it is a deluxe with a much lower price point and everything is located in one building. AKL and CR are still on the list for me to try. Love seeing both of these on every trip.

Poly is our favorite for the relaxing atmosphere and friendly people. The grounds are/were beautiful. The monorail is just a bonus. However I won't stay there until all the construction is finished. I'm looking forward to finding out if it'll still be relaxing after they change everything.

Yacht Club is also good when anything is going on at Epcot like F&W or at Christmas time. There's so much to do around the resort with the Boardwalk and all it's activities and then there's that awesome pool. It just seems for alive and vibrant.

Beach club! Light and airy decor, walking distance to Epcot & DHS (priceless), nice CMs, and SAB.

I thought I read that Poly contruction is over spring 2015. Can anyone confirm this? We wouldn't be there until sept 2015

You're best bet for Poly info is tikiman. Just google "tikiman" or search Facebook. He's got the most info in one place from what I've seen. He's also on the DIS boards I think.

I have stayed at every deluxe, and love them all. There are some that I love more than others, but *everyone's* opinion is different, and what I love, may not be what another person loves. But if I absolutely had to pick a favorite, it would be the GF as it's just a beautiful and grand resort with impeccable grounds and gorgeous rooms. Further, the staff here has always been the best of the best. And, the fact that it's a monorail resort and so close to the MK doesn't hurt.

We have stayed at YC, BC and WL and our absolute favorite so far is the WL!!!

The entire resort is magical and beautiful.

We are staying at CR next and can't wait to see how it sizes up! :goodvibes

Price being my primary concern, AKL/WL are the least expensive and just wonderful. But my favorite always ends up being BC/YC/BW (from first to last choice). It's hard to consider BLT/CR/Poly/GF given they are significantly more expensive. Maybe someone can correct me and get me into Poly at AKL prices, but I haven't seen it. Walking distance to EPCOT (and HS) is the ultimate for me. It's nice to walk to MK too, but it's not the park I usually close out.

Some day I'll choose GF only because it's one of the few I've not stayed at yet.

Side note: FW Cabins are another option, seems deluxy enough to me, but at that price point I'm still going with BC. And Key West and Saratoga are not really in the same race, along with any of the suites. And most of the "villas" at the above resorts are practically the same as the other rooms.

Thank you for that info!I just visited his site.

GF! We love the level of luxury, the location and the pools. We really love the slide on the themed pool. The lobby is dramatic and spectacular. The music in the lobby (both the piano and the orchestra) is very romantic. It just feels very light and airy and happy. The quality of everything (right down to the mattresses) is much better, in my opinion, than the other deluxes.

We stay at BCV and I do love the resort and the location, you cannot beat StormAlong Bay, I always say BC Resort is really a destination unto itself, if I didn't step into a park I would still feel I got an amazing vacation with the beauty of the landscaping, walking/dining around the Boardwalk and the pools. We have been doing less and less park days each trip.We have stayed at the value resorts and those were great too! Many years when we were park commandos, the value resorts were our preference and the food courts were awesome. Pop Century really has a resort feel. Disney offers a lot of choices! All good!

Polynesian, hands down!!!! The atmosphere, the CMs, the smells, the monorail, the dining, the location...I could go on and on and on....

My favorite thing to do on our quiet mornings was sit by the pool all alone and watch the monorails circle around while listening to the MK opening show ❤️❤️❤️❤️

WL for me. Just love the smell, the lobby, the music that is played from the moment you pull up. :thumbsup2

Did I mention the lil hideaway that is Territory Lounge?
