There was a great post asking for our favorite version of the "Christmas Carol". But what about your favorite Christmas movie/T.V. show? There is only a limited spots available on the poll, so most of the answers will be posted in the following threads.

So to start the thread:
Favorite movie: Elf
Favorite T.V.: Rudolph

Anything produced by Rankin Bass.

I had to put Heat Miser in my signature. I can identify with him.

I have sooooooooo many favorite Christmas movies/tv specials! It's hard to pick. But I have to say my favorite movie would have to be Christmas Vacation. I just watched it with my family on Thanksgiving. We watch it every year and can pretty much quote the whole thing!

And as much as I love Rudolph/Frosty etc., my favorite TV special would have to be the Grinch. It's just classic. And I love the song!

How did I miss "Christmas Vacation". Chevy and Randy at their best. I watched the movie with the director and some of the actors making comments and for most of the movie he let Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid be themselves during the filming, so most of thier interactions are off-script. Very smart.

And for the Grinch, can it be better than "stink...stank...stunk!"

I am tied between Christmas Vacation and Jingle all the way.

Another vote here for Christmas Vacation, I love that movie so much, I own it in hd-dvd. Does it get any better than Chevy and the family in gleaming high definition?

"The Year Without a Santa Claus" is officially my favorite, but it isn't on the list.

Neither is Die Hard, but whatever. :rolleyes1

;)

I voted for "A Christmas Carol." I'll watch just about any stupid version of that movie (and there are about 500), but the Allistair Sim (sp?) one is my favorite.

I voted for the Charlie Brown Christmas.

But that's pretty much the only one I watch. For some reason, I just don't care for the Christmas shows. Love Christmas, just not the shows.

:santa: Favorite T.V. - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

:santa: Favorite Movie - Scrooge (the musical)

Miracle on 34th Street, only the original and only in black and white.

:santa:

Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, and Mickey's Christmas Carol are my favs!

I voted for "other" because if I had to pick one (TV), it would be "A Year Without a Santa Claus". ......to me, nothing says Christmas like the Heat Miser and Cold Miser and Mother Nature scolding them !! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
That's one of the most fun Christmas shows !!!

Favorite movie : A Christmas Story. ..... .when they're the dogs take off w/ the Christmas turkey !! :rotfl2: Or when the father takes out the leg lamp!!
I just LOVE that movie!!

ITA! I was just coming to post about Heat Miser, I love that one. I can't remember though...is that the same one where Santa and Mrs Claus get married in the forest? That's another favorite of mine. Rankin Bass RULES.

Christmas Story - Christmas Vacation - Deck The Halls
oh how could i forget The Polar Express
