We've never done a character breakfast yet with our DDP and need something for our very last day and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations?
We are already doing a CM dinner, and I know this seems to be a fairly popular one, so was just thinking if there are any others that we should try?

I LOVE Crystal Palace Breakfast...great interaction and good food. A must do for me!

Great...thank you! We went there for lunch last year and did LOVE it!

My favorite character meal is breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8:05am.

Their food is excellent (don't miss the puffed french toast!) and who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh and friends? The setting is really pretty - I love the building, it's so open and airy.

I love going for the 8:05 first ADR of the day. You get to walk down Main Street through an empty park and have an opportunity to take some great pictures of the castle. The food is hot and fresh at 8:05, and the restaurant isn't packed to the gills at that hour. You can get in and eat and see all or most the characters before the park opens at 9.

Not sure if they still offer this but we went to a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe once. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed the characters!

We liked 'Ohana because it wasn't hectic like some other character meals and we got a lot of character interaction....even it was just Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch.

I agree with this poster. The breakfast is a nice change of pace from a buffet. The food is very good and we always enjoy the characters. Plus there is just something special about enjoying the morning with a nice cup of coffee and a view of the castle. :goodvibes

NOT Tusker House in AK. We were there last week and it was terrible. I don't even remember the food, the experience was so bad. It was bad at check-in and continued to go down hill. The characters (Goofy, Daisy, Mickey) were so rushed, they hurried up to each table and started banging on the table. I couldn't tell if it was to get everyones' attention or what, but I never saw that at any of our character meals. Then, I saw a cluster of 3 CMs in blue analyzing the characters. One CM said, "See, she just bypassed that table and only spent about 5 seconds at the next table". So, apparently they were having "problems" that day. Plus, it was very warm, about 80+ in the building. Our server was even complaining.

So far, we've done

Askershus
Cinderella's Royal Table
Ohana
Chef Mickey's
1900 Park Fare
Crystal Palace

Akershus was our favorite Princess BF and CP was our favorite general character meal.

Our favorite character breakfasts in order (we did 6 on our last trip):
#1 - Tusker House - we loved the food, the characters weren't too rushed and it's really close to the safari ride so if your ADR is early enough you can be one of the first on the safari.
#2 - Ohana - great food, fun place and characters, early ADR's get you to MK early
#3 - Princess Breakfast at Epcot - really good food (love the cheesy potato dish), cold buffet with meats, salmon, fruits and pastries, Princesses (and we have two young girls so you can't beat that)
#4 - Crystal Palace - good food, love the omelet bar, great characters, pre-rope drop ADR walking toward Cinderella's Castle with hardly anyone around is awesome - great photo opp
#5 - Hollywood and Vine - good food, had some issues with characters not coming around, but we told a CM about it and the character was there within minutes and spent a good deal of time with the kids. Was so "uncrowded" that some characters came by twice.
#6 - Chef Mickey's - worst food of all the breakfasts we tried, characters were so rushed as was the entire meal/experience. We won't go back to this one.

Have a great trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Tusker House. The food and the characters were great! We snagged an 8:05 ADR and then headed to the safari ride as it opened with no wait!

We loved CP. The characters were great and the food was even better. Out of all the breakfast buffets that we have had at Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, we love CP the best!

We've done most of them and our all around favourite is Cape May. Everything is great there...food, characters, service, atmosphere.

We also really enjoy Ohana and CP.

Another vote for the 8:05 reservation at CP! Walking down an empty Main St. and grabbing some castle photos is wonderful. Also, if you request that they bring your bill right when you sit down, you will be done in plenty of time for rope drop. YIPEE!!

Crystal Palace breakfast with Pooh and Friends - it is a must do for my daughters - they are now in their early 20's and we still do CP breakfast!

Tusker House Breakfast is a must for our family. We have gone 4x in 2years. We liked Cape May. We enjoy CP for lunch and trying the breakfast this trip

Glad to see all the positive comments on the CP breakfast! That's the one I chose to do for our first ever character meal in Nov.
