What's your favorite airline and why?

I love JetBlue. I'm not the easiest of fliers....I really don't enjoy it. So, having those seatback TVs is a great thing for me. I also like their ability to stay with the flight schedule they booked me at. Yes, they do sometimes run into a problem but it just doesn't seem to happen as much with JB as with other airlines.
The planes are comfy. The attendents are pleasant with great attitudes.
I also enjoy SW but can seldom get those great fares that others get. But the times I have flown with SW I have had very good experiences.

For years it has been Southwest. But JetBlue has slightly edged them out in my book. Both have fantastic customer service and treat customers fairly. But now that JetBlue has taken out another row of seats, the extra legroom is really noticable. If only they would adopt SW's open seating policy they would be perfect!

A vote for SWA here. I love their customer service, open seating and no change fees which is a real biggie for me!
I will admit I've always wanted to try JetBlue but the closest airport is just too far for me. I wish SWA would put the tv's in the back of the seat like JetBlue! I heard a rumor some time ago that they were looking into it. :thumbsup2

Great question. For me, its Delta or Southwest. I like Delta because they fly everywhere, good service, nice planes, no problems. Southwest is great, although they are somewhat limited on their cities (can't fly into smaller cities, and sometimes have to use alternate airports). Open seating is fine, crews are friendly, flights usually ontime, and the BEST is that you can get a credit when your fare goes down and NO change fees. I've given up on US Airways, far more problems than I could ever imagine...

Southwest......great prices and no charges for changing or canceling flights. Easy reward system for earning free flights. I don't need to worry about being bumped or my assigned seats being changed (lol no assigned seating on SW!)

I am having such a good run on prices with Southwest that I will stick with them for awhile. I like being able to cancel and change without penalty (and do it online without spending time on the phone), for a single traveler the open seating is not relevant, and I have a video Ipod so I don't need TV in the seat back.

Southwest is our favorite because of their great prices, on time flights, schedules that rarely change once they are released, and of course the ability to change when better prices become available! They also have the best flight times on their nonstop flights out of New Orleans to and from Orlando.

I really love Jet Blue! I love their customer service, the TV's and their planes! However, since they don't fly every where and in particular they don't fly out of the airport closest to me, I usually fly United more than Jet Blue.

Another vote for JB.

1) Seat pitch is very generous (leg room) - DH is 6'3" and he really doesn't like riding on a plane for a couple of hours with his knees jammed up against the seat in front of him.
2) DirecTV in the seat back.
3) Can depart from 4 airports near home
4) If the fare decreases on a flight that you have booked, you can call them and they will issue you a credit for the difference, which can be used for one year from the original purchase date.
5) I like that the seats are assigned.

I'd be willing to give SW a try if their legroom is comparable to JB's, but SW does not depart from any of the 4 airports nearby. I also don't really like the idea of unassigned seating.

I'm also part of the JetBlue fan club. We always get a great fare, love the TVs, the customer service people are great to deal with, as well as all the employees at the airport and the flight attendants. We've had really good luck with flights being on time also.

Make that FIVE JetBlue (now tied with Southwest) :teeth:

Everybody I've ever dealt with is extremely pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The flight schedules rarely, if ever, change once they've been published. I'm short, and I still love that pitch - 34" to 36", depending on the row. All one class planes. Leather seats. TVs (although I do miss Song's trivia option). On red-eye flights every passenger gets a sleep pack - eyeshade, earplugs, I think a small bottle of lotion... not that any of that helps you sleep when the twit in the window seat is doing knee bends for five hours straight, except when she's yelling for the Flight Attendant instead of using the call button, or getting up and walking into the aisle and back to her seat and into the aisle and back to her seat and... but I digress. Depending on the size of the airport, I usually need a wheelchair. JetBlue is the only airline that hasn't required me to preboard.

I love JetBlue too. For most of the reasons already stated here.

Just 1 point when you call and get a credit ( very easy to do ) you have 1 year from getting the credit NOT when you first booked it. I just checked my account to double check .

Love SOUTHWEST!!! Cheap fares and nonstops from Providence to Orlando. Plus great customer service.

Another SW vote here, for all the same reasons cited above, plus the great attitudes of their personnel (maybe they, too, were dosed with pixiedust: ).

I hate flying SW, but their customer service is great. I feel pretty confident saying that my favorite WILL be Virgin America once they start flying......:thumbsup2

Jetblue for me! The seats are comfy, schedules and customer service are great. Plus I'm a horrible flyer, so the seatback tv's keep DD6 occupied while I zonk myself out with valium! :) It's the only way I can fly without a major panic attack... yes, I'm nuts!
