Fastpasses

My daughter found out the other day by accident that if you have an annual pass and a key to your room...that you can get a fast pass for both. She went up to the fast pass machine and put in her room key and got out a fast pass. When she realized which one she used...she tried her annual pass and got one also. I know it's sort of a way of cheating the system, but on the better side of this whole thing...we gave away the 4 extra fast passes that we did get!!!! Made some peoples day by doing that since it was Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend!!

BTW...we are here right now if anyone has any questions...I will be on again later!!

I think it's great that you gave away your extras, but I hate to think that lots of people may abuse this oversight by Disney. If it gets around Disney may do something about it. This loophole could be useful though...just on really busy days. ;) But I would probably give the extras away too. At least, I hope I would.

Trust me, the only reason why we were getting a second set was to spread some disney magic with other people. We would go on the ride, then as we got off we went to the fast pass machine and handed them out. It was our way of giving back!!! Some people really appreciated it, others just took them and didn't say anything.

Was the room key for a resort package (with or without free dining)? Was it used at the turnstile to enter the park?

If you somehow use two different ticket cards to enter the park (for example leave and come back later and use the second) then both can be used to fetch fastpasses.

We had the key card for our resort, and a annual passholder card. Never entered a park with the resort card.

I know that people down here are abusing the system. One thing I noticed to day when I was getting a fastpass at Toy Story Mania...all the CM's were doing at each was having you put in one card and then they would push a button to get the rest out. Now on the bus ride home I heard a guy talking about what they do. They go up to the fastpass with a CM there, put in their first card and tell them a number for the rest. Now when they have to show the other cards, they use room key, and even tickets from MVMCP to get the other free. He said that he got 11 fastpasses today alone.

There was a glitch in the system then - I've put my room key into FP machines before and without valid park admission on it you don't get a FP.

All FP machines have an override feature that's only enabled via a key. If the machine is set on override, the button in the back can be pressed to dispense a FP. If you're caught using the button without a CM doing it, you can be removed from the park (I've seen it happen).

I didn't press the button in the back though! It just happened when we put in our room key and our annual pass. There has to be something wrong with the system at the time.
