Fastpasses for toddlers??
I just witnessed a mom trying to do this last week. Young child had fast pass+, she did not. The CM very kindly sent her to a guest service person and they took away one of her other fast passes and gave her one to see Mickey with her child. She was not pleased, but the CM was as pleasant as can be!
For the person who can't isn't able to find an available set of fp's, that would work great! She should've been happy as I'm pretty sure there were no available sdfp's at that point.

Just have to see how it goes when we get there.........

Yup. And when the person got mad that they had to leave the fp line and go to guest services, I often saw other guests defending the CMs belligerently and even some openly harassing the person trying to scam the system by going in with only one fastpass for their kid or in this case one fastpass for two adults and two kids. One group in particular only stopped yelling at them when a second CM came over to tell them if they didn't stop it they'd be removed from the park after the kids started to cry. The people went to guest services at that point and were not back when we finished.

The CMs might not be rude, but nearly nothing will stop the other people in line who did do things the right way from saying anything. Even the people who gave up and went in the regular line had to be near the fastpass line and hear comments of the people around them. Sometimes quite rude and hostile ones.

Tip: Heaven help you if you say, "Do you know who I am?!" And no one does. Or cares.

I can't imagine how on earth that would be worth it. You really won't be saving any time or having a magical experience.

Wow- I've never seen a line of guests behave anything near that badly. Sounds to me like the ones in the wrong here are the guests being hostile to other guests to the point that a CM had to stop them.

Again, no one is talking about scamming a system. We're talking about doing something that we've been told by a person who works at Disney is their policy. All the horror stories in the world isn't going to change that. And in the case you describe, no one is talking about more than 1 person accompanying the child.

I have had people make rude comments back during legacy fp when they thought we were somehow line cutting when we passed them in stand by. Guests have no business harassing or being hostile to other guests. Good for the CM that put a stop to it.

I do have a question- if they sent her to guest services, how do you know they took a fast pass away? Usually the fp line moves at such a pace, you don't have a lot of time to stand in the same spot. It may take a while to get to the front, but you're usually moving from time to time. Just wondering how it is you found out what the result was.

I have the utmost respect for the poster in question, but in the end he/she is just another stranger on the internet--as we all are. It's a pretty grey area to use that knowledge alone to convince CMs at the attraction that what they are trained to do is incorrect and that calling in their boss will show them they are wrong. If you still intend to do this I would be fascinated to find out what happens.

Well, that's not my intention to do it that way, so it's not a problem.
I know better than to walk up and say to a cm, " but I read it on the dis"...:lmao: That's the fastest way of getting a no that I can think of.

But no, I have to intention of trying to convince a cm to do anything, or to complain if they don't do it. I'm fairly sure I'm not going to the line itself to ask about it. Lines are hectic, cm's are busy. Most likely, if I have the time and if the chance presents itself, I'll ask at guest services.

But honestly, after the reaction here, I'm keeping that information to myself and a pm when needed. I don't feel like getting the responses that will undoubtedly follow should I post that indeed it's a policy of Disney. Nor do I care to hear the I told you so's if it's not.

I don't know if it's true or not. I'd like to know, so rather than take the word of anyone here, I'm going to find out myself. That apparently is a crime in the disworld.

Would it even let you make the fastpass? When we went in July and I was making our selections, I was trying different combinations for different attractions and the system wouldn't let me make a single fastpass for the kids saying that under 7 couldn't go alone.

This is my experience too. It wouldn't let me select only my 6-year-old the last time I booked Fastpasses.

I read something about this the other day, never knew you could do this! ... If your DD is under 7, let the CM know of her age. As per our supervised children policy, you both can experience the attraction. If the CM gives you trouble, ask for a leader only. Do NOT talk to a coordinator. This is something we get continuous safety audits....

So....basically....according to this, a family with a child under 7 gets at least 3 (possibly 6) extra FP because "My child can't be unattended, so I have to go with them and they have to come with me.".
I'm not buying it.

Ok, don't. No one is asking anyone to believe it, do it or ask about it.

I'll let you guys ruminate on this subject on your own. I'm outta here.

It let me copy my 3yo's to mine after I made mine first for A&E. Our times have a fifteen minute overlap thank goodness. Not sure what I'd do if they didn't!

No one is buying it. If you want to get in the FP+ line, everyone in your party needs a FP+ for that line.
Agree :) I have a 4 year old and we have booked FP selections for everyone when doing M&G even if I am not going to get in to the picture.

Plus, for those with little kids they are already finding ways to work extra FP selections by using Child Swap and getting extra FP that way but this is just silly.

I mean so you don't want to use a FP choice, then you have to cover your eyes while your darling little one meets the character so you don't get to see the joy on their face, and make sure to not take any pictures since then you would be joining in the experience. SMH

I think it could work.

They can use those glasses from Mickey's Philharmagic only they'll retrofit them with opaque lenses. Anyone without a FP will have to wear a pair until they exit.

Oh, and maybe ear plugs so they can't hear the conversation with the characters.

This is awesome!

I am going to borrow my friend's baby for a day at the parks, get on the FP+ line saying said baby wants to see the characters and I must accompany it obviously, and I will see all the characters without having to wait!

I shall call it "FP++ Baby".

"++" because there's no limit and no need to reserve! :cool1:

Or you could contact my startup "rent-a-baby" company. It was developed for rider swap, but I see this as an emerging market.

Absolutely. You need a new division and you need to start recruiting more babies.

Lots of untapped potential in babies. We tend to think of them as pretty lazy generally, perceptions need to be changed.

No need. They're constantly telling you around the parks to take small children by the hand, so just help yourself to the nearest one.

Well, there goes THAT market.

Back to the drawing board.
