I read on another thread that some attractions in MGM don't open when the park opens?!?! Is this right?? If so, which ones are they??? Also, can we go ahead and get fastpasses for an attraction that isn't officially "open" yet?? That way we can be seeing other attractions while waiting for them to open.

thanks!! And I may be totally off here..........

The only types of attractions that I'm aware of that you can get FP for if they're not open are shows (I.E. Lights! Motors! Action). Anything else would have to wait until that ride/attraction opens.

that stinks!!

From the tone of your reply, I think you missed the point.
You need to understand that there are only a VERY FEW attractions that HAVE FastPass admission in the first place.

All of them are OPEN when the park opens...
EXCEPT for the 2 Stunt Shows, WWTBAMillionaire, and sometimes Little Mermaid.
But these are:

A. NOT CLOSED (just have a limited number of scheduled performances)
B. DO HAVE the FP machines open in the morning (if the crowd size rates that).

So I don't think you'll have a problem.

Also, if you're used to Islands of Adventure, be aware that WDW doesn't operate like that at all. I don't know of any continuous running attractions at WDW that aren't open when the park opens.

Note that on some days Adventurland at Magic Kingdom opens a little later than the rest of the park. It would depend on whether the fast pass machines can be gotten to, and are in operation, which may vary slightly from one day to another. Also Epcot's World Showcase opens later; that section of the park is roped off affecting Norway.

This was news to me. Could you provide more details? We were there in the middle of January and didn't experience this.

Mickey's Toontown Fair opens at 10am.

Tom Sawyer's Island Rafts may also delay operation.

The rest of MK has been opening at "opening time" (usually 9am).

Yup, I actually did know about those two... I should have mentioned them earlier. However, Adventureland? Didn't know that.... how often does it happen?
