Fastpass selection help - FROZEN or Soarin?

We will be at Epcot later this month and I am online now selecting fastpasses. The first Frozen passes available that day are at 8:00pm. First Soarin' passes of the day - 12:20pm. What to do?

We were last there in May 2016, so Soarin' is new since then and FROZEN was still under construction/about to open when we were there. I'd love to go on BOTH of them. The only way I see this happening is to book the Soarin' tickets and ride during the 12:20-1:20 and then hope that somehow FROZEN fastpasses open up. How likely is that?

OR, do we book FROZEN - and then hope the line isn't horrible for Soarin'? I know you can't book another FP until your first 3 are used ...

I also booked Spaceship Earth and The Land for early in the day, but can only choose one from the group which includes Soarin' and Frozen. We have no desire to go on Mission Space or Test Track and figure that Figment and The Seas/Nemo won't require FPs - and if they do, we are OK not riding them.

Thoughts? TIA!

You could rope drop Frozen and take the Soarin Fastpass. You don't want to be stuck with a FP until 8pm. If Soarin is your 3rd, you can get more that day.

Rope drop Frozen? When would that be? I'm not a complete newbie, but remember that WS didn't open until later in the day. So, we would wait near Mexico for them to open (or elsewhere?) and make a beeline to Frozen? Would appreciate any info. Thanks!

Would the frozen dessert party be an option? I wanted to do that but it conflicts with my Ohana reservation.

Definitely Soarin. Frozen is fine but it is along the same lines as nemo and little mermaid. Basically a rehash of the movie so I would not skip soarin for it IMHO.

My family (including 5 and 3 YO daughters) GREATLY prefer soarin' to FEA. That said, if you are going to ride both (we always try to), then I would FP FEA and rope drop (or standby) Soarin.

I rode Frozen twice in a row at rope drop. I just power walked there and walked right on, got off, and walked right on again. Early bird gets the worm as they say.
I used my fastpass+ for soarin.

Not true. It opens at park open. It used to be that you could only get FPs starting at 11, but that is no longer true either.
Um, Future World is the part of Epcot that opens first at nine usually, and at 8 on an emh morning. Frozen is in World Showcase but it opens when Future world opens. Recently they made fast passes available at 9.

Oops, you are right. My bad, I was thinking about the sometimes stated (but incorrect) FEA opens with world showcase.

Future world opens at park opening along with Frozen ever after. Even though Frozen is located in the world showcase, that section (Norway) opens when the park does. Future world hours are 9-9 unless it’s an early opening then it will open at 8:00 a.m. The only thing that is open at world showcase at park opening/future world is France’s quick service restaurant and Norway’s restaurant and Frozen. Frozen follows future worlds’ opening hours which is the same thing as park opening. These are the normal operating hours at Epcot:
Future world 9-9. World Showcase 11-9

When we were there over Spring Break I had a FP for frozen and after we had used all three I was able to go on and get one for Soarin. It was right away too, like I booked it and then we started walking over.
That said, depending on how old your kids are, I would personally prefer Soarin. When we are there next month I planned Soarin as a FP and then we will head to World Showcase and I will go on and try to get one for Frozen.
