Fastpass return or replacement?

Maybe I’m not watching the same video but I can’t find where it says AP holders can add this on.

This video and head to the end where they do Q&A. Its not an add on to your AP but just a regular fee each time you go to the park and want to add it is how I interpreted it.

I think that the planning aspects of Genie are supposed to mitigate this by creating a Touring Plans style of attack to direct people to where lines are shortest at certain times of day. At least, I think that's what they THINK or are counting on - I'm not so sure on that bet, myself.
That is perfect. I think that they think that this will be how I will think:rotfl2:

Well that's magical...
I’m not in the market of selling magic, Disney is. The price grab after price grab isn’t magical at all. Enough is enough, the only way for things to change, is for things to fail. Between this and the parking fees, it’s an extra $600 a week for nothing added for my family of 4.
Those services were included with my stay before

So if you have 6 day park tickets do you have to do genie+ every day for $15/ day or can you choose to only buy certain days? For example, if going to MK I feel like there would be value bc there are a lot of second tier rides included. But if everything I care about at DHS is LL pay extra, I wouldn’t want it that day?

Ah thanks! Adding or paying for it day by day seems like we’ll end up behind everyone else in terms of being able to book: we’ll waste a few minutes paying for it while everyone else is booking passes.

I get that everything can't be for everyone. But hoping something fails just because you don't like it is a little more than ridiculous to me.

If this happens, then Genie+ will end up being a ripoff and a failure. It would basically mean that you have to stand in long standby lanes all day, even though you paid extra.

One can only hope.... I hope it fails miserably and bites the current greedy execs in the #$$ come bonus time. Nothing in this appeals to me. Pay more for what was already being paid for in my ticket price. Stress more because I can't make our plans in advance of arrival. Stress even more with my face in a damm phone all day. Pay even more if I actually want to ride the good rides...

Who in their right minds actually think this is in any way a good thing for the guest experience is beyond me. Just a massive price increase hidden behind smoke and mirrors. Wait, look, a shiny object!!!! Genie will make your day better!!!

What a load of horse manure

I don’t think that many rides will be included for upcharge, I think it’s ten.

Hoping that a ridiculous cash grab, which has at best dubious benefit to the consumer, which has potential to damages the brand’s reputation… and you’re confused as to why people would be against it?!?!

This is, once you boil it down, essentially MaxPass for WDW. I don't get all the ire and hate. This thread and its predecessor was constant hand wringing and threats for 300+ pages where people were assuming something like DLP. Now we've been handed something much more manageable and is comparable to MaxPass (essentially) and now we're up in arms all over again.

I imagine Splash won’t be one of the upcharge rides. There’s only ten total.
You're probably right about that. Bad example. But still, there will be at least two parks that have more than two rides on the pay separately list. So, at HS for instance, there will almost certainly be at least one ride that I love that I will simply have no ability to skip the line for --- even if I already bought Genie+ and am willing to pay even more on top of that.

Anyone see anything about having options for LL return time, or is it just the next available time slot that can be booked?
