Fastpass return or replacement?

Okay, is it jsut me or is the terminology "Lightning Lane" being used inconsistently. Is LL the For Purchase stuff, or are your Genie+ selections LL as well?
Lightning Lane is for both. Some rides it is included with Genie+, some rides you have to pay. But instead of the line being labeled the "FP Lane", it will be LL instead. So the line is the same name for all rides, just some you have to pay extra.

But keep in mind, that at $15 per day, an awful lot of people are going to buy that. It's going to be like the old FP system where they're quickly sold out for the day on the most popular ones.
I totally agree. The people that think they will have great ride selections later in the day are just kidding themselves. It's pretty simple, if I go for a certain ride and it's not available I will work my way down my list to get the best one available. So this will fill up most of the other rides. No one is just going to "hope" that one of their main rides will come available, they are going to grab the next best one on their list as soon as they can. I'm sorry but I would have been happier paying $15 per ticket to use FP+.

Ah I missed that. So I am clear... The Genie+ rides (1 at a time) for $15 pp/pd so I get to pick my first ride early? Or the additional upcharge (surge pricing) rides? Or both???

Yea also wondering. Can we just buy a 7DMT upcharge/lightning and then watch HEA (for example) or do we have to first pay$15 ea in order to pay the $20 ($35 total) upcharge.

Okay, yeah, that's what I thought, but Josh D'Amaro seemed to say it differently.

So do we want to guess the 10(ish) upcharge rides???

RotR
Ratatouille
MineTrain
Space
FoP
Naavi
SDD
MMRR
Frozen

…maybe Peter Pan???

WDW has roughly 50ish rides that originally offered FP+, yes? So we are potentially looking at 10ish attractions that will utilized a pay-per-ride option. That's actually not bad, especially if I utilize rope drop and get in line at park close during my 6 or 7 day trip. Seems like I would be able to prevent myself from buying too many of those often.
Sorry I laugh cause Cedar Point had 70 rides on 1 PARK. The fact WDW has that few over 4 is quite sad.

The way I interpreted was one or the other or both

So once you scan into a park you can begin using genie plus, not before, correct? Or you just have to be on site to start? Will you be able to reserve another while in line on your first ride, or will you have to wait until exiting?

I think my biggest surprise so far is the lack of on-site benefits with this. I guess they’re counting on lots of on-site guests paying for the extra two LL’s at 7 am…

But if it's cheapest at that time - dynamic pricing and all that - and limited availability - it is a perk.

We won't do for all parks, but will definitely be booking my Rat ride at 7 am! :D

Now do you get to pick a time or do they give it to you for the upcharge passes? Like, can I book Rat at 7 am on the plane for our arrival night? 😂

I just mean if you pay the $15 for Genie+, if they’re saying 40 rides fall under that, it can’t be THAT many headliners that you have to pay the additional upcharge for!

By my calculation about 50 WDW attractions (includes some of the shows) had FP+. So that could mean that about 10 or so attractions aren't in a 40-attraction Genie+ (surely in those 10 will be FoP, SDD, MMRR, MF:SR, TT, SDMT plus ???), and then there are the two Virtual Queues (RotR and Ratatouille) which I can compete for, hoping avoid an upcharge for them??

i would be SHOOKETH if you can pay add'l to ride ROTR and Ratatouille.
But also, in the video that disney released they showed images of the genie app and PPF was included in 'genie +' fwiw
splash wasn't anywhere on the list but i would imagine when it is opened it will be add'l
