Fastpass return or replacement?

Sorry, but is the on-site perk that you get to select your first Genie+ attraction (included
in $15/day) OR the up charge attractions we don’t have pricing yet for?

I would have rather they just raised the price of tickets 15$ and left it like it was. Not getting the 3 fast passes a day that you can book in advance will suck…. Now I’m kind of hoping my DVC contract gets taken in ROFR. This in no way is better then fast pass plus… and I’m not talking about the price.
I think the 60 days out situation didn’t work well for a large group of people.

looks like from the one video that someone just posted that some examples of what is INCLUDED in the $15 add'l purchase would be:
Winnie the pooh
Peter Pan
POTC
Astro
Barnstormer
BTMRR
Buzz
Dumbo
HM
IASM
Jungle Cruise
Enchanted tales with belle

it did show that Space and SDMT were 'lightning lane' and would be some of the attractions that you would have to pay EVEN MORE for

WDW has roughly 50ish rides that originally offered FP+, yes? So we are potentially looking at 10ish attractions that will utilized a pay-per-ride option. That's actually not bad, especially if I utilize rope drop and get in line at park close during my 6 or 7 day trip. Seems like I would be able to prevent myself from buying too many of those often.

Okay - resort guests can book the more expensive lightening lane at 7 am (upcharge). Everyone can do the regular at 7 am.

So I can book Mine Train at 7 am. I'm imaging the later in the day, the more expensive it will be...

Also, I wonder if you can make your 2 Lightning Lane selections for different parks with a Hopper?

I believe it did say it can be for any park - good for Hoppers.

Confirmed from the Disney Parks Blog article: "Lightning Lane selections will be made on the same day of your visit and can be used across multiple theme parks, great for those who love the Park Hopper option."

I agree.

Okay, is it just me or is the terminology "Lightning Lane" being used inconsistently. Is LL the For Purchase stuff, or are your Genie+ selections LL as well?

When we went in 2015, you could book 1 good FP+ and 2 other FP+ that weren't as necessary. I could be recalling it incorrectly but they treated them like there was a tier system. For instance, we booked Space Mountain as our tier 1 ride since nothing else was available in that tier (7D, Splash Mt, Big Thunder Mountain), Enchanted Tales with Belle and Haunted Mansion in our 2nd tier. Epcot I think it was Test Track as the good ride, Journey Into Imagination and Spaceship Earth as the tier 2 rides.
The other 3 parks all had tiers, MK never did.

Ugh, thanks for sharing that clarification. So no advantage for resort guests with the standard LL.

I'm already paying a fortune, and will continue to spend a fortune. As a family of 3 it's not as bad and $45/day, while I would prefer to not pay that, is just going to make it into our budgeting. One TS meal less, that we eat in our room instead, buys us 3 days FP. I would much prefer to be able to refresh for free FP's but if there's going to be a cost, which we all knew there would be at some point, then this is at least manageable in the grand scheme of things. For those on a tight budget I understand that this may be a tipping point or that it means saving longer (or just use standby) but fortunately this is not the case for us.
I'm on the opposite end of this one. If I apply Genie prices to the trip I just got back from (6 adults, 6 day ticket), that's an extra $500. I already spent $6K on the whole ordeal, another $500 doesn't sit well with me. It's an over 8% percentage change, and that seems ridiculous for just fastpass. And that's staying at a value resort and giving up most table service.

If we go again, we're going to have to stay off property. But that's going to be a long time from now between this and inflation.
